Extreme.......2008-03-04
I used to be a big fan of hardcore wrestling, and I purchased a copy of ebay a few years ago (bootleged sadly) so I have the original VHS version. I've seen some pretty extreme matches, but this, for its time, is the most extreme dvd ever. Some matches suck (anything with Tiger Jeet Singh Sucks) but the best match (in my opinion) is the Terry gordy vs Mick Foley match or the Leather Face vs Terry Funk match. The last match is a classic match also and was probably the first "Extreme" match I have seen. Compared to old Skool CZW, its pretty tame, but for its time, this was the most extreme thing ever

Not what I was expecting.......2006-10-10
As this DVD was entitled masterclass I thought it was going to give me some pointers and show me some real techniques. However, it did not. I was a bit dissapointed at this. The vintage go fishing programmes were good to watch as are the new ones.
Good for something to watch but no good as a learning aid!
Go fishing masterclass.......2004-02-19
If you are a fan of John Wilson you will not be dissapointed. As usual, watching John Wilson fishing is as close to being there as you can get.Though you might feel the DVD editing may leave a little to be desired, once John Wilson gets to the river bank all that is forgotten.Very informative and clear,so no need to keep rewinding for missed bits of information. And John gives a running commentary of what he is doing so you know at every point what is happening.
Thouroughly enjoyable and informative. Will be looking buy some more in the series.

WRESTLEPALOOZA 98!!!!.......2002-09-20
ECW Wrestlepalooza 98 took place in Marietta,Georgia on May 3rd 1998.There were a lot of mistakes on this DVD but overall still a very enjoyable ECW event.Look out for the mistake in the intro video at the start, theres a spelling error!?!
1)Nova & Blue Meanie VS FBI.
(Decent match with Nova and Guido doing some good moves)***
2)Mikey Whipwreck VS Justin Credible.
(Great match.I'm a huge fan of Mikey and both men take some punishment here.Highlights inlude Mikey doing a superplex off the guard rail through a table and Mikey flying backwards off the apron hitting his head on the rail)****1/2
3)ECW TAG TITLES:
Chris Candido & Lance Storm(c) VS Balls Mahoney & Axl Rotten.
(Pretty good match but dragged in places.Storm is great as usual as is Candido.Entertaining match)***1/2
4)New Jack VS Bam Bam Bigelow.
(This match is brutal.New Jack is covered in blood by the end of this match.Great spot where Jack jumps off a balcony with a guitar and nails BBB with it on the way down)****
5)Sandman & Tommy Dreamer VS Dudley Boys.
(Another good match with some great hardcore spots.Sandman gets injured and Spike comes out to help Tommy.Lots of weapons, pretty good fight)***1/2
6)ECW TV TITLE:
Rob Van Dam(c) VS Sabu.
(Match of the night by far despite a few botched spots. They go 30 minutes and destroy each other with tables and chairs. At one point Sabu does an asai moonsault into the crowd on RVD and lands on his jaw and throat on the rail. Also Sabu chucks up outside.RVD does his frog splash through a table and Sabu does a top rope hurricanrana through a table)*****
7)ECW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP:
Shane Douglas VS Al Snow.
(This match was good but it should have been before the RVD-Sabu match because the crowd seemed to not care as much.Decent match that had it's moments.Good seeing Snow in a main event)***
Definitely worth buying. If you can ignore the mistakes you will love this.If there were not as many mistakes this would be a 5 star DVD/Video because the matches are very good.
great with glitches.......2001-10-25
wrestlepalooza was hardly the best ppv with hardly the best name!!! but it was still an outstanding effort from ecw!!! when you think about it compared to the wwf ppvs of 98 and he ecw ppvs you'd see ecw's were far far better!!! even by todays standards this is great material!!!
anyway onto the action!!! we were greated by a fair opener with good spots and bad spots, as blue meanie and nova take on the fbi!!! meanie and nova get some great heat!!! but credible and whipwreck put on a main event standard grudge match next, whipwreck and credible do really well and the fans are into them big time!!!! other good matches include balls mahoney and axl rotten fighting lance storm and candido in a mediocre outing, bam bam bigalow and new jack in a crimson soaked war of attrition, including a balconey dive and some solid work from both men!!! sandman and tommy dreamer fight the dudleys in a fun match but disapointing in some places!!! the main event sees al snow and shane douglas taking it too each other in a good match but not incredible
but the match of the card goes to rvd and sabu!!! these 2 guys go at it for 30 minuites but never bore you, some things go wrong and the actions far from perfect, but when some of the action includes a 5 star frog splash through a table, a fair share of arabian presses and sabu throwin up at ringside, you really can't go wrong!!!
all in all a good ppv with no real stinkers but only a few great bouts, well worth your money but there are many better!!!
Pure Wrestling.......2001-09-09
Although this PPV will not be to everyones liking,it is a good PPV.Shane Douglas and Al Snow was not the best main event in the world,I found it disappointing!RVD and Sabu have a good match, but some things do not go according to plan.I loved New Jack and Bam Bam Bigilow's match.I thought that Justin Credible's match with Kikey Whipwreck was great. The best match on the DVD has to be The Sandman and Tommy dreamer vs the Dudleyz, but it is still disappointing! If you are looking for a really hardcore and extreme DVD,I would not recommend this to you!

The clue was in the title ..........2007-08-18
The clue was in the title, guys - the first World Cup was in 1930, not 1904. What do you seriously expect, given that the makers couldn't even get that right?
Avoid Avoid Avoid!.......2006-05-16
Surely the most low-budget, cheesy and low quality football dvd out there. There is just a 5-minute encapsulation of each world cup, introduced by a fanfare of bleepy harmonies that sounds like something my old ZX Spectrum used to make, and a picture of an AC Milan player! I say 5 minute - correction, the World Cup USA 94 inexplicably gets much longer, including a pointless montage of host cities' tourist attractions and stadiums/cheerleaders/brass bands. As the previous reviewer notes, the story of Pele's final money-spinning years in New York also takes up a major chunk of the DVD, giving it a bizarrely US-centric slant given the subject matter.
The mispronunciations of Ilgner, Matthaus and other legendary players' names starts grating on the nerves, fortunately this is relieved by the sudden hilarity and disbelief as one suddenly glimpses a Dennis Bergkamp goal celebration - for Arsenal! Not once but twice! You couldn't make it up.
What a waste of time this was - rent it for comedy value, but otherwise please don't waste your money.
KEEP AWAY FROM.......2004-04-07
An absolute joke of a DVD. It doesn't contain what it claims to be. There is no actual footage from the 1998 world cup, just a talk-over, which for some strange reason contains footage of premier league action. The 2002 world cup is covered by the phrase 'and this promises to be a great world cup' and that's it! The earlier World Cups 30, 34, 38, 50, 54, 58 and 62 contain very little footage, yet for some strange reason half way through this DVD we get an in-depth story of Pele's last years in Soccer USA! Gareth Hunt shows what little knowledge of football he has by constantly miss-pronouncing the names of the worlds top players through-out. DVD's such as this are a disgrace!
