beginner to black belt- how exactly?.......2007-05-31
The main content was 38 minutes long. Clearly Bill Wallace is good at what he does, and I'm sure those who attended the seminar this DVD was taken from came away much better practitioners. Oh, and at one point he advised his students to "watch Bruno-Cotzier tonight"- that took place in 1986! Wallace has done a variety of seminars, has his own group of martial atrts schools in the states, and continues to be much sought after. However I feel those behind this DVD let him down. Badly.
The students who attended may have improved, but you will struggle to upon getting this DVD. He gives a couple of hints and tips, and that is all basically. I have no idea how it can make the claim that it takes you from beginner to black belt. Perhaps it was reffering to the footage, which was taken from 3 different groups. The point he makes about closing up space was a decent one. So decent he makes it to two different groups. He also gives the same demonstration of a kicking drill twice. In a 38 minute DVD that just isn't up to standard.
You will be able learn more in your next class, whichever level you are at. Calling it "a complete instructional guide" is as misleading as it gets. It really is. Best off avoiding, instead go for something from the Pat O'Keefe series- it's pretty much impossible not to learn from them.
begginer to dust bin.......2005-03-21
first of all there is no link b/w kickboxing and this dvd. secondly i cud have done betta wit ma camcorder and a couple of friends in an empty hall.
thirdly u'l b betta of spending all that money on bin bags than on this dvd.
Very basic DVD.......2004-05-25
The title of this DVD should be change to guy stands in the middle of sports hall teaching a group of tae kwon do students NOT Kickboxers. Very basic instruction, certainley not beginner to black belt!!!
Average Tutorial.......2004-02-29
Being the first martial arts tutorial video i have purchased, i've nothing really to compare it against. However half the DVD is taken up with kickboxing matches and the tutorial side of it only lasts approx 40 mins. This basically has Bill Wallace (a guy who's won various martial arts competitions) showing a few moves to a class in their local sports centre. I picked up a couple of tips, but i learnt most of the moves shown in my first couple of kickboxing classes. Not bad for beginners, but it certainly won't teach those who have a few months training behind them anything.
DO NOT BUY THIS IT IS RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2004-02-24
I have recently purchased this DVD. The cover blurb bears no resemblance to the actual DVD. There is a 39 minute feature on a seminar with Bill Wallace, this covers basic stretching, and some (only a few) kicking instructions. The rear of the DVD states that there are individual workout selections, NO. Kicking and punching combinations NO. The bulk of the DVD is given over to individual kickboxing matches. I repeat the actual instruction part of the DVD (running time approx 105 minutes) is 39 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cover is marked ' A COMPLETE INSTRUCTION COURSE' then it ststes 'FROM BEGINNER TO BLACKBELT' I will be asking AMAZON for a refund and advising them that they are in breach of the Misrepresentation of Goods Act if this is sold as an instruction tape. Please do not buy this you will be SORRY if you do. I have given this 1 star because the Amazon review page will not accept MINUS STARS

Excellent and a refreshing change.......2006-11-19
This dvd is a refreshing change from the normal, heavy rock sound tracks, known riders doing huge tricks.
It is well ridden, very well filmed, it is probably the best mountain bike dvd I've seen and can watch over and over again.
A film made by 6 Italian mountain bikers in Italy - the music and editing are first class.
If you like Roam and the Collective you should love this for it's differance
