FAB~LOVEJOY AT HIS BEST!!.......2008-02-24
I thought this DVD was a great gift which I received for Christmas!! It had some fascinating stuff on it, great goals, great misses too!! I thought Lovejoy was brilliant so too was Redknapp- they both know what their talking about and also their football mad, what more could you ask for????
The dvd itself was put together brilliantly, they had behind the scenes and cuts for additional features where their brilliant personalities really came through!!
Overall- FAB for any football fan. Lovejoy when's your next DVD out?? (and i'm an Arsenal fan!!)
Decent footage, poor presentation.......2007-12-27
I would love to know who it is that continues to give Jamie Redknapp television work. The man can barely string a sentence together, his commentary style consists of simply saying exactly what just happened but with the addition of the word 'literally' plus some other ludicrously obvious observations e.g. "and he's literally just jumped in the air and got great contact on it, and as a striker thats what you want".....I havent bothered counting, but in this 58 minute video I would guess that Redknapp says the word 'literally' about 20 times. Lovejoy is OK, and the footage is great, but the whole thing is overshadowed by how terrible Redknapp is in front of a camera.

Not Worth The Paper It Is Printed On.......2007-02-05
I love soccer am! But this DVD sucks! It comes with terrible acting by all of the whole crew. I thought asweel as having the greatest games of all time, there would be some of the best bits from Soccer Am, WRONG. It comes will some stupid jokes, and through out the dvd they say....wot can we have in our dvd? There is one brillant bit of the dvd, its called "Kung-Fu Football" basicaly it is loads of guys tacking each other out, with sound effects added in, iv never seen any thing so funny. (thats why im giving it the 2 stars) Unfortunaly that only last 5 mins when the dvd is 1 hour long. Its 55 min of pure dribble.

Please do not waste your money. As an avid watcher of Soccer AM you would find it much more interesting just tuning in on a Saturday morning. I had read the poor reviews of the first two dvds and to my surprise found this in the bottom of my stocking courtesy of the missus, yippee! It lasts only one hour, half of that is filled with lame gags and boring narration, stick to tv Lovejoy. The commentary is poor over the old footage and I would try to find the free video given away with Smiths crisps in the 80's because it is a much better viewing experience.

I am not a regular viewer of Soccer A.M. but have always wanted a DVD dedicated to the greatest goals of all-time, so I was thrilled to receive this for Christmas.
I won't spoil the surprise of the top 10 goals but it was a joy to see Roberto Carlos's amazing free kicks and power shots. It was also nice to see Trevor Sinclair's amazing scissor kick for QPR.
Whilst the overall DVD was very entertaining (I refer to the actual football footage here!) I do have a couple of suggestions to make this THE definitive goalfest disc:
1) At only 65 minutes long it is fairly short and the 'comedy' routines in between are VERY annoying, only because it's precious time being wasted (there are many more amazing goals that could have been included instead). For a start there are no Denis Bergcamp goals, the Paolo DiCanio volley for West Ham is missing and no wonder goals from Steven Gerrard. As I said before i'm not a viewer of Soccer A.M. and, if the awful jokes and banter on this DVD is anything to go by, I won't be in the future.
2) As the top 10 goals are chosen soley by Tim Lovejoy they are completely subjective and, like me, you will find yourself disagreeing on some of his choices. Surely it would have been better not to have a top 10? Mind you, I guess it is meant to cause debate up and down the land.
I'd imagine every football fan will enjoy this DVD, what isn't to enjoy seeing a 50 yard screamer or someone dribble past every player on the field and scoring?
3 stars is a fair rating. There would have been more stars if there were more goals!

Avoid like the plague!!
This was sold to me as the best of soccer am!
Instead its just a collection of best goals, saves etc from the worlsd of football - which gets dull after 5mins
True all the soccer am characters are there - in decidedly unfunny situations
there are no, repeat no clips from the show!

After watching this dvd i honestly feel ripped off. The whole dvd is just Tim and Helen walking about the studio talkin about goals. I was looking forward to seeing all the best bits that makes the program so good but there was nothing. If you want to watch tim and helen talk about goals for an hour then buy it, but you would be best just watching the program on a saturday morning.

Finally a soccer am DVD! This is an excellent mix of the best long range efforts, free kicks, overhead kicks, bizarre goals, goalie blunders, pathetic misses (john dahl tomasson's miss from a few inches away has to be the worst miss ive ever seen) and of course the funniest own goals ever seen. at the end there is a countdown of the 10 greatest goals of all time and belive me theres some belters here including maradona, george weah, okocha, beckham, owen, ronaldinho, zidane etc, etc. All in theres some amazing goals on this DVD including some of the best ive seen in a while including beckhams goal from the half way line (and rivaldo's!), robbie carlos collection of amazing goals (inc "that" free kick against france), trevor sinclairs overhead goal from the edge of the box and loads more goals which have to b seen to b appreciated. foeatures include the 10 best saves of all time. in general, this is quite a fresh collection of goals and bloopers, and most are for the first time ever shown. although most of the footage is quite recent, theres also some of the great goals from the likes of gazza, glen hoddle, george best, etc good value for money and a would make a great gift for any football fan.this is definetly the best collection of goals and bloopers ive seen (beats the other blooper-type videos).. buy it!

Brilliant dvd, a great watch, so what if its their choice and not yours, the players they've chosen are all world class and the music they show them to is great aswell.
Not only do they show the 10 players but also great goals etc from the last 10 yrs from teams in the conference to teams you've never heard of!
It also shows my fave goal of all time, di canios scissor kick which the first dvd illegally missed out
Easy Easy Easy Watching.......2006-02-16
If you like soccer am or just a fan of football in general this is essential viewing.All the favourites are in there; Barry, Stan Hibbert, Sheephead, Tubes and of course rocket. Packed with the gags and laughs that make soccer am so great.

As if 'cheeky lad's lad' Tim Lovejoy isn't already satisfied with the reams of money he's made from the repetitive once funny gags of his show Soccer AM he's racked his brains for another excuse for a DVD.
10 Greatest players of the last 10 years? Wow, that's just great, as if we really care what you think, get back to doing your 'EASY' chant, oh wait, actually, just be quiet.
I can safely say Soccer AM's 6th DVD 'Greatest players of the last 10 years: '2007' will be out next year, infesting itself in your stocking and sapping joy from your lives, just stop. Please.
