A great video, well worth buying.......2005-04-12
I bought this one for my 9 year old son and he's watched it so often he knows the commentry off by heart. The commentry is great with wonderful Australian accents mixed with great scenes. I wish other rugby videos with good play but rather boring commentry or discussion had the zest of this one. I'd definately buy more videos from the same producer.
Rugby world Cup Official Review- The Review.......2004-07-19
When watching this DVD, you have to remember that this was made very quickly after England won the thing. Knowing that, it is actually not that bad. Maybe going through every single game was a bit ambitious, especially if it was between countries you have never heard of, but despite that, it still plants a firm memory in your head of Martin Johnson holding the cup above his head.
Even if you are not a rugby fan, you should own this purely for being English, and seeing Johny Wilkinson drop kick the the ball past the two poles will make a shiver run down your spine time and time again.
The DVD itself basically runs through each match showing the best bits building up to the final between England and Australia. I think that is all thats needed to be written and I think it is a essential that this should be amongst your DVD collection at home.
A good attempt but nothing more........2004-06-28
This is more a souvenir than anything else. It's the 'right-on' version with glitzy music and clips sharply edited.
The problem lies with trying to pack so much in it. Only the extended highlights of the games deemed 'exciting' are featured. The rest are assigned a few seconds for tries and conversions.
Even so, you forget how good some of the games were.
At the end of the day though it's a reasonable attempt and quite watcheable.
You'll need to get the final separately.
Disappointing.......2004-03-09
Just about worth having as a long-term souvenir, but only just. Too much hype, not enough rugby. This is a shallow account - you never see any of the build-up to the key moments, only the touchdown or kick itself. This can't be due to lack of space - the running time is little more than an hour. And why isn't it in widescreen like the ITV broadcasts were? It makes a big difference in rugby.
Not for England supporters.......2004-03-08
If you are an England rugby supporter, don't waste your money on this. It does show all the clips of the matches from start to finish, but 90% of the England clips are of Johnny taking kicks. As if that is all it takes to win a world cup!
If you are an Oz supporter you'll love it; lots of Wallaby action and stadium shots of the fans, and not too much footage of the eventual victors.

A MOMENT FOR ENGLAND TO BE PROUD AGAIN!!!.......2008-01-07
2007's tournament was excellent & bought back all the memories of 2003. It may not have been the best game ever, as refered to by elitist Rugby fan Rupert pert in previous review, but for excitment & tension you could not beat that final. A memorable tournament topped off by an extra time dropped goal that has become one of the most played sporting clips ever. This is a must own for any Rugby fan...A gmoment reat piece of England Rugby history
Who writes this rubbish?.......2007-08-06
Given that the first Rugby World Cup was only held in 1987, how can this be "the moment a nation had waited nearly 40 years for." Unless of course the writer is referring to the 1966 football world cup? Can't see the connection myself - most English people didn't care for rugby before 2003 and, gloryhunters nothwithstanding, don't now either. As for "the most dramatic game of rugby ever played", has the writer actually seen every single game of rugby played over the last hundred and fifty years? I thought not. Just a couple of examples - what about Guscott's drop goal for the Lions in South Africa in 1997? What about the 1995 World Cup Final, which was also won with a drop goal in extra time? And don't get me started on Dallaglio being "one of the greatest names in rugby"!
