Good, but not great.......2004-03-12
Most of the fights are watchable - after the beating he took from Tim Sylvia it's good to see that Cabbage can still walk and talk (and punch), and after one great win and an unlucky loss, Gloucester's finest Mark Wier gets back in the Octagon, giving us Brits a ome-town boy to cheer on. Lawler v Spratt was brimming with potential, but ends rather disappointingly, and the fight of the night between Genki Sudo and Bang Ludwig is let down by a poor ruling in the 3rd round, which swung the outcome of the fight and clearly blinded the judges to what had gone on in the previous 2. The so-called main event isn't dreadful, but it' just not a main event fight. I like Matt Hughes as much as the next man, but recently his fights have lacked the action and excitement that made me a fan in the first place, and his 'safety first' attitude, while understandable, doesn't make for a great fight.
If you're a UFC fan, buy this (for no other reason that it will stop you thinking of Cabbage as a punch-bag with legs) but this is not a dvd that will convert newcomers to the MMA game - show them Chuck v Tito instead...
Great addition to your collection.......2004-01-18

Most Underated TNA PPV.......2005-12-22
Chris Sabin vs. Chase Stevens: This match was put on the show at the last minute, and was an amazing display of aerial moves. Sabin is amazing, and Stevens shines in singles action.
Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss: This match was labelled Final Assault. This is a Falls Count Anywhere match, and you won't believe the spots in this match. It was a great improvement on their match a month before.
Ultimate X Challenge- The Phenomenal AJ Styles vs. The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels vs. Primetime Elix Skipper vs. Ron The Truth Killings: The perfect X Division match in my opinion. Match of the night, and obvious match of the year contender, and a VERY pleasing result.
Jeff Jarrett vs. DDP: This is easily Jarrett's best NWA World title defence to date. With no end of surprise appearances and interferences, and two guys with a score to settle, it's hard not to enjoy this match.
Other matches include:
America's Most Wanted and 3 Live Kru vs. Team Canada
Raven vs. Dustin Rhodes in a Bullrope Match
Disciples Of Destruction vs. Phi Delta Slam
Monty Brown vs. Trytan
Kevin Nash vs. The Outlaw in a First Blood match
Overall, this event is absolutely tremendous, and it is an honour for me to have this in my DVD collection. It also contains backstage footage of Jeff Hardy getting thumbtacks removed from his back. AWESOME!
