Record breakers.......2003-09-15
This is the best football DVD I have ever seen. Obviously because I love Arsenal. If you don't love Arsenal but are reading this review - buy The DVD anyway so you can see some real class on show, from Henry's wonder goal against Man U to Bergkamps amazing lay off for Freddie against Juve re-live all the goals in what I regard as being Arsenal's best season ever. There are great interviews here and who could forget all Freddie's goals in the run-in. The open top bus parading the cups through the streets would bring a tear to a glass eye. With all this, into the bargain is thrown a bonus programme, 'Boring Boring Arsenal' with all the double winning footage from '97/'98. See all Bergkamps wonder goals and remember Overmars and Petit, Not forgetting Anelka's goal in the F.A cup final. Any Arsenal fan who doesn't have this is missing out big time. BUY IT!

A season to remember, a dvd to forget..........2002-12-10
The goals and interviews are there but as you may have read - WHERE ARE THE EXTRAS?!?!?!?!??! This season was absolutely brilliant and winning the title at our greatest rivals backyard summed it all up. However, this dvd doesn't focus on crucial encounters like beating liverpool at anfield with 10 men, and our champions league run is barely mentioned. There's no little details added like top 10 goals, top 10 celebrations or skills etc. Also, there's no focus on Freddie's form at the end of the season, or the celebrations in cardiff, and there seems to be NO fan input at all. Speaking of fans, there's no footage of us going crazy at old trafford, or singing freddie's song outside the millenium stadium, or singing we'll win the league in manchester on the way out of the millenium stadium.
What the DVD does offer though are all the goals and short interviews with a few players. No Vieira or Pires or Freddie though. And (this might be just me) but I feel cheated because I bought the 1998 double season on vhs, but it's included in its entirety on the DVD. If you haven't got it then great, but if you have, one wishes the extras mentioned above were included instead.
The season was so great though and although it's not the best dvd that could have been put together, you should buy it to remember our great triumphs. To the treble next season and one hopes, a better DVD.
Magic Hat? More like pile of old tat.......2002-08-29
Great season - awful video/DVD. This is no more than a lazy compilation of goals cobbled together in five minutes. Half of Arsenal's Champions League campaign is missing, the interviews are dull and uneccesary and if you're looking to see anything but goals you're in the wrong place.
I hate this video/DVD and I'm angry with Arsenal for putting no effort into documenting the best season in the club's history. Of course they know that whatever they produce will be snapped up by the fans, but this cheap effort really does plumb a new low.
Take my advice and avoid this video nasty. If you want an accurate and entertaining account of Arsenal's double winning season you'd be better served videotaping SkySports "The Premiership Years" when it next comes on.
WHERE'S THE EXTRAS?.......2002-07-01
This DVD is an adequate record of what was an amazing season for Arsenal. All the goals from Arsenal's domestic matches are here although some goals from the European matches have been missed out-not necessarily a bad thing considering some of their dodgy results in Europe. The best performances - victories over Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen - are shown more fully. There are other problems with the content of this DVD. It fails to give a comprehensive account of not only Arsenals matches but also the season as a whole. Failure to show players being sent off makes the victories over Liverpool in the league and cup seem less imporessive for example. The fouls which resulted in penalties being awarded are also missed particulary in the end of season victory over spurs. The DVD completely misses out Arsene Wengers war of words with Ferguson which became so intriguing as the season progresed. Finally, the music is terrible, the interviews are boring and I cant stand Matt Lorenzo. One redeeming feature is that this also contains all the action from Arsenal's '97/'98 double winning season. It's not exactly two for the price of one though cos this DVD aint exactly cheap.
