Horse Racing's Greatest Ever Races.......2008-02-23
Horse Racing's Greatest Ever Races: I have just watched the flat races dvd and it really is a pleasure to watch especially as it is fronted by Claire Balding who really knows her racing.
With the chance to see how some fine race horses earn their stud fees. Races feature Galileo, Giant's Causeway, Cigar and many others. I particularly enjoyed watching the US racing especially the breeders cup and there is a great race with Piggot back out of retirement at 54 winning the Breeder's Cup; it is also great to see the rivalries with other horses. Five stars. Looking forward to watching the jump racing.

Perfect for keen cyclists.......2006-12-04
I was really impressed by the way this little book was put together. It's classier than the usual 'gift' package and really chock-full of information. If you have a cycle-mad member of the family, or just a keen interest yourself, I'd highly recommend it.

I bought this of Amazon and it is brilliant. It takes you through step by step building the car. Keep it up Evans.
A Mark Evans is born.......2004-03-12
Well what can i say. About his 8th series and still going strong. An amzing series consisting of him building a westfield sports car. When he is building he seems to take no time at all.
4 Stars because of the cheesy jokes. Part from that great series that you can keep watching.
Highly recommended!!

an interesting and enjoyable DVD.......2007-05-27
I agree with mr Millar's appraisal.
This is an interesting and enjoyable watch. proffesionally put together.
However don't expect too much in the way of race/driving footage from the early seventies. Another 5 or 10 minutes indulging us with his sublime driving skill from that era would have really been the icing on the cake. I know that's not really the point of this DVD but still....
Probably the Best F1 DVD Around.......2007-03-19
This is an excellent documentary which outlines the career and life of Jackie Stewart through contemporary and rare footage, interviews then and now.
Jackie, now Sir Jackie, was of course a three time world champion in an era where the racing was much closer and the cars and circuits far less safe than today.
The most striking thing about the DVD is Jackie's humanity and humility, and the sadness with which he and his wife recount the loss of
Francois Cevert, Jackie's team mate and friend. Jackie's fight for circuit safety is well covered, too.
Audio and video quality is very good and the opening lap of Monaco, set to the music of Pink Floyd and filmed from (his?) racing car, really sets the scene for the DVD
Highly Recommended.......2004-02-03
This is a great dvd, in a whole different league to most sports programs. Buy it, you won`t regret it.
'The Flying Scot' is superb!.......2003-09-26
I've just watched a copy of a new dvd called 'The Flying Scot'
about the life and times of Sir Jackie Stewart and I have to say it's one of the most enjoyable 90 minutes I've spent in front of the tele in a long time. I've never been much of a fan of motor racing before, but this film transcends sport in many ways. It's filled full of superb anecdotes and has a depth of emotion I hadn't expected. Certainly Jackie Stewart has been a national icon for us Scots for a long time, but there is material here - especially his relationships with Ken Tyrrell and driver Francois Cervert - that increased - and cemented my ever lasting respect for the man. Heady words indeed, but well earned over a lifetime of incredible achievment. If only all documentaries were capable of leaving one with such a feeling of wonder? The Flying Scot is such a film and one that I could honestly say is a 'must see'.

A classic road movie.......2004-01-19
This is a great movie! First of all it stars Singer Songwriter James Taylor an Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson in their first and only acting roles. They are two drifters who race their Ol' 55 Chevy for money. Warren Oates stars and steals the show as the driver of a Pontiac GTO who races them across the backroads of america for "Pinks"(car docs) picking up various weirdos on the way. They pick up a (Laurie) "Bird" who joins them for a ride. You never really know what's going on or what might happen next and the film does have an abrupt ending. This can all be explained in the director voice over option. It's a shame this appears to be in short supply. Maybe get it from amazon.com. It's a classic buy it! IMPORTANT I can only play this on my PC dvd player and not on my multi-region DVD player for some reason(maybe my dvd player isn't too hot)
