Carry on with the laughter - I defy you not to!.......2006-11-10
Series III is the final series I have ever seen and I always thought was the last one made. However it appears from others that this is not the case and that there is also a Series 4!.
Nonethless for me Series III is going out on a high note. It is every bit as good and as funny as Series II. Real highlights on this one are DC of Love, On Thin Ice and Twitchers, the former revolving around a ladykiller called the Black Widow and a lobster called Brigsy...!. Twitchers with Bill Oddie and Pat Roach is quite simply hilarious and shows that it really is the class acting that makes this series. Ornithology has never been so funny. On Thin Ice has a slighly more serious overtone but is still an episode which never fails to amuse, including new hair accessories for Louis and an iceskating performance to rival anything seen previously anywhere.
None of the episodes however are a let down or "fillers". All of them are pure class that amuse, delight and entertain.
This whole series (well I to III anyway) have been the best thing in years and I urge anyone with a sense of humour to invest in them all. Its money VERY well spent and humour almost everyone will relate to.
Description amendment.......2006-10-27
I just wanted to let people know that there is only one DVD in this title, not two as per the description.

Super sequel to 'Are You Being Served?'!.......2008-01-02
One of the funniest sequels to any comedy series ever made!
'Grace And Favour' was the 90s follow-up to the ever popular 'Are You Being Served?' from the 1970s and 80s. This ran for two seasons, and was so successful, it is puzzling as to why a third series was not commissioned. Having said that, there would have been a terrible loss with the absence of the wonderfully funny Billy Burden (Maurice Moulterd) as he was to tragically pass away the following year - a great loss to the world of comedy. He was marvellous in this show, and gave us some truly great moments of hilarity as he sparred with Mrs. Slocombe!
The two series' totalled twelve episodes, and every single one was a laugh a minute! Enjoy this and have the laugh of a lifetime!
Unfortunately, this was only ever released as NTSC region code 1 in the United States which limits sales figures.
Great stuff!
A laugh a line comedy.......2007-10-27
It was splendid to see the majority of the Are You Being Served ! crew back in action in the early 1990's ! Seeing them adjust to a pension fund rip off was a topical idea given the Maxwell debacle . By taking them out of the hierachy based shop environment it fostered a more communal attitude and led to new comic possibilities that a writer of David Croft's very high calibre could exploit to the full . Mollie Sugden , John Inman , Wendy Richard & Frank Thornton are clearly having a ball and it is a joy to behold . If you can imagine a mixture of Are You Being Served ! & Fawlty Towers that works like a dream then this is it . You can spot the jokes a mile off but laughter is still produced ! It is a forgotton comic gem - lets hope it comes out soon on Region 2 DVD as it was made in Britain in the first place !

A must for every ERASMUS student.......2007-11-10
This film is a must for any ERASMUS student either past, current or prospective.
As already mentioned, the film acurately portrays the steryotypes of the various nationalities, and with it being in three languages, and with a mix of so many cultures, it works for everyone. I just watched it (in french) the other night with two other english people, a german and a chetch, and we all loved it.
Real Life Of Erasmus Students..........2006-01-16
I found out that this movie was a typical everday desciption of Erasmus students as far as I could see from my Erasmus schoolmates in Le Havre. Finally, this movie is worth watching... :-)
A review on L'auberge Espagnol.......2004-03-08
The ERASMUS-SOCRATES scheme is where students have the oppurtunity to study abroad for a year - this film is the first to portray the legendary lifestyle that ERASMUS students have (and quite accurately). The film's sub-plot follows a Parisien student who decides to study in Barcelona for a year. His personal experiences give the film much of the substance, but much of the film also focuses upon the other people (mainly ERASMUS students) that he meets (and lives with) - their stereotypes brilliantly portrayed. One aspect making this film pretty unique is that the spoken language changes continuously from French to English to Spanish. Combined with serious aspects that come with leaving home for a year, are many comical parts too, making this film one to watch. And as it did for me, it will bring back many fond memories to all those people who did ERASMUS, reminding them of what was probably one of the best years of their lives...
