Finding Love In Strange & Unexcected Places.......2006-05-22

Surprisingly enjoyable. A young gay man is thrown out by his father (with the help of his step-mom) and sells himself on the streets to get by. Eventually making a friendship that is pushed to the limits when a simple robbery of his home leads to the kidnapping of his family.

Although the two leads struggle with some of the clunking dialogue, they make their characters completely endearing throughout.

The family bickering, which continues during the kidnap, is spot on - funny, moving and strangely believable.

With all it's faults, this is an utterly charming film, clearly made with enthusiasm and a lot of passion.

Hat's off to everyone involved with this.

A little gem in the film noir vein .......2007-03-11

Six weeks after his fathers death in an inexplicable swimming accident Scott Doherty's (Adam Garcia) mother Maureen (Jacqueline Bissett) marries Oliver Vance (Stuart Wilson) and very soon his intriguing daughter Kelly (Alice Evans) arrives on the scene.

We experience everything from Scott's point of view, and like him are completely baffled by the new step sister he finds irresistible but with increasing uncertainty.

"Fascination" is a great title for this film, puzzled and drawn into a drama where everyone is lying, nothing is what it seems, and chance happenings throw the best laid plans off course creating more obscurity.

The actors create a convincing uneasy suspicious family ambience, thanks to light handed but fine direction from Klaus Menzel and good background music.

This is a little gem in the film noir vein that will involve you from start to finish, and leave plenty of questions in your mind.

BEYOND BAD.... (Way, way beyond!!!).......2006-11-14

If you are trying to decide whether to buy or rent this film, TRUST ME, when I say you really don't want to. I'm all for cheesy thrillers, bad plot twists and seriously dodgy acting but this takes bad film-making to the limit.

I've given it a 1-star rating because that's the lowest possible - and because Adam Garcia has his shirt off alot. The plot comes straight out of the film noir reject bin, the acting is ATROCIOUS and the direction is non-existent.

Don't go there. Please.

Sexy thriller with surprise twist.......2006-06-29

I saw this film on DVD recently and enjoyed it immensely. "Fascination" is a rather untypical thriller in that it is more about what suspicion, mistrust and loss than about the crime that sets the plot into motion. The cast - led by Adam Garcia and Jacqueline Bisset - gamely goes along on this dark journey into sex, love and murder.

A real let down.......2006-04-13

I rented this film through Amazon thinking it sounded good, nice thriller with twists, well all I can say is that it was bad, worse than bad, it was dire! avoid at all costs, the acting was awful and the plot was even worse, it was just boring. Do youself a favour and watch another film!
