5 out of 5 stars A benchmark for Skateboarding videos........2005-10-31

Directed by the dream team of Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich, etc) and Ty Evans, the long anticipated 'Yeah Right' could possibly be described as skateboarding's most cinematic venture yet. From the beggining, a poignant tribute to the late Keenan Milton, to the super slow-mo title scene, its evident this is going to be more then your average skateboard video. Infact, this could well be the video that comes to define this period in skateboarding history, much like the late 1980's Powell/Peralta videos, or Plan B's 'Second Hand Smoke' in the early 1990s.

Girl definetly have a team of great skaters, and Brandon Biebel's super-tech flip and manual tricks are a great place to start. Other highlights include Brian Anderson's part (with great music by Interpol), the huge emerging talent of a young Jerome Rogers, the Chocalate (another great team) montage section and one of the true veteran innovators of street skating, Mike Caroll, exceeding all expectations with another fantastic video part.

Yet this video cleverly saves the best until last. Eric Koston, the jewel in Girl's highly talented crown, has the videos final section, and absolutely blows you away. Koston does everything to remind the audience why he is arguably the 21st century's finest sreet skater with effortless nollie tricks, plenty of kinked rails, and an epic krooked grind. Oh, yeah, and the small matter of a laser flip down a 6 set as well.

You cant help feeling the video could have done withough some of the more pretentious/bizzare parts, such as the unique 'invisible board' section, and the infamous 'crailtap board section'. However, these are wonderfuly choreographed, and add to the all new overblown, cinematic experience which proove this to be a skateboarding video's most notable foray into the world of mainstream film making.

5 out of 5 stars Yeah Right it is that good.......2005-05-27

A must see for any skateboard fan, its funny, the effects are great the soundtrack is first class, oh and the skating isn't half bad either. Great work from Spike Jonze some of the super slow-mo shots are brilliant, the extras are as long as the vid itself and well worth a look. This is a vid you can watch in the evening just to appreciate the skating or before a session to get you stoked. The whole skateboard world should sit up and take a look.

5 out of 5 stars Girl Yeah Right.......2004-12-17

This is most defanatly one of the best skate videos ive seen in a while. it has a great mix of skating and a soundtrack that is off the hook, theres also some cool special effects, including the invisible board section and the skatrix. as well as the freaky effects owen wilson makes an appearance and blunt slides a reasonalble sized handrail and there is a kool section where all the crailtap skaters throw the board between busting some sweet ass tricks. so overall a good watch and well worth the money.
