pass me the sick bag.......2008-02-11
To mention this "bubble gum" bore in the same breath as "maedchen in uniform" is an insult to that "classic" piece of German cinema ,in fact this is more of a poor re-make of "The Childrens Hour" in terms of the hysteria!
This film is so obvious and contrived that you know the end after the first ten minutes ,there are no surprises even to the thunderstorm during the obligitory airbrushed "sex scene" plus the type cast Teacher ie; arty ,poetic and of course soft spoken ,and therefore either a Dyke a "commie" or both in the USA bible belt!
Sadly this type of saccharine yawn has been made many times before ,in many different venues eg:Prison ,Reform school ,High school etc.
Unless your a "Mills and Boon freak avoid !
If you want to see two women getting it on ,log on to U-Tube or similar ,or watch a really good film such as "Desert Hearts" or "When night is falling".
Enough said
Slow tease.......2008-02-01
If you want the atmosphere, the build-up, the sexual / erotic tension of sheer want - with no distracting subplots and no superfluous dialogue, this is the film for you. Sensual and heavy with breathless desire. Very very nice, and view the "alternate ending"...
True Love.......2008-01-30
This film not only depicts the love of two people, it also lets the viewer feel the emotion that the two people feel. If you have ever experienced real love in you life, you will see it as natural what these two people are doing. The sexual act in the end which is the actual climax of the film, makes you understand that it love and nothing else.
And the poem at the end is right "it is the hardet thing in the world".
I highly recommend it!!!
Loving Annabelle.......2008-01-27
This is a really good film, well worth watching. The two leads have great chemistry. Erin Kelly (Annabelle) has enough charisma to carry the movie and Diane Gaidry (Simone) is convincing as the teacher struggling to come to terms with her feelings for her pupil. The music complements the action very well. The DVD has an alternative ending, which will appeal to those who want Annabelle and Simone to be together and there is an interesting featurette with writer and director Katherine Brooks and the two stars on how they made Loving Annabelle.
I liked this!.......2008-01-25
I was preparing myself for another awful lesbian movie, and in the first ten minutes I thought I was going to be right... but then I was pleasantly surprised. OK, some of the script was a bit dodjy which made the acting a bit dodjy and they really should have used more dialogue in places... but they got the setting, the mood and the feel of the movie right. There's moments when you can feel Simone falling in love with Annabelle and vice versa. You can feel how the characters develop. Annabelle is a rebelious teenager who is fascinated by Simone. Simone is desperatley trying to repent her feelings and lead a 'normal life' and this becomes crystal clear to Annabelle. The use of music added to the atmosphere and the mood. If you can focus on the positives and ignore the faults then you can really enjoy this.

Loved it!.......2008-02-21
I loved this film. Good acting, nice story and for once, the outcome is realistic. A teacher who sleeps with a student goes to prison. That is how it would work if the teacher was male so it is nice to see that realism, no matter how much we would like to see a happy ending. (there is an alternative ending on this DVD)
This is my favourite 'lesbian' film but one thing grates. Simone is far too passive. Right from the start, she lets Annabelle do & say all kinds of inappropriate things. I don't think my teacher would ever have accepted it if I stood close to her and fondled her necklace or touched her knee! She would have told me in no uncertain terms, but yet sensitive to my feelings, that is not acceptable. She would have told me that having feelings for a teacher is not uncommon but that it is not an option and that no relationship will ever happen between the two of us.
And yet, right from the start, Simone behaves as if Annabelle's advances towards her are normal. She even encourages her when she gives Annabelle a book and touches her hand when in the library.
This kind of behaviour would make more sense a bit further on in the story, when Simone has 'properly' fallen for Annabelle. The way it is now it just looks like Simone sees Annabelle for the first time and she is reduced to a gibbering mess right away. Seems a bit strange.
However, that is a small criticism for a film that I would recommend more than any other film I have seen in a long time.
I love it, love it, love it.......2007-09-22
treat yourself to this film, sit back and watch it with your partner, a bottle of wine and a takeaway and you will have your perfect night.
Good story, lovely women, I wish we all could meet someone with a nice house on the beach.
Only bad point was the alternative ending, I wish the ending could have been a bit longer, or maybe I just didn't want the film to end.
The Best Of All Possible Lesbian Movies!!!.......2007-07-19
This virtual remake of Madchen In Uniform is a surprising success as the story is seamlessly translated to present day America. The 2 leads are very personable with Erin Kelly showing why she is generating so much interest. Diane Gaidry uses her incredibly expressive face to great effect and her slow-burn acceptance of her feelings for her student is handled with sensitivity. Writer-Director Katherine Brooks has a sure touch and what might have been voyeuristic sleaze-fest becomes an engaging human drama. The DVD however offers one outstanding bonus - an alternate ending!! Now you can have the happy/sad ending of your choice, lesbian heaven!!!!!
Very sweet love story........2007-07-15
This is a lovely story about how sometimes you just cant fight your feelings even if you know you could get in trouble. Not your typical school child crush on a teacher but a real love story that you get pulled into. Fantastic story and well written.
Set in a catholic boarding school this story is based on an out of control girl who from day one finds herself attracted to her poetry teacher and how a friendship can turn to love.
Very well actored, beautiful soundtrack. I would definately recomend to watch. Just a lovely Love Story. One thing i will say is be sure to watch the extra's...especially the alternate ending which I found answered more questions.
Enjoy every one. I hoped this helped.
dont prejudge!.......2007-01-11
When I first read the synopsis on the back of the box i was a bit put off. Let's be honest a teacher-student relationship just isn't right in society.
I'm glad I took the leap and watched this though because there's a lot more to it than that. Firstly, it isn't about this sordid affair but what comes before the inevitable. The story is treated with due respect and unfolds in a tasteful manner that draws you into the feelings of both characters. The torment of a teacher trying to stay in control and the desire and passion of a student not afraid to feel and push boundaries.
Annabelle is the rebellious daughter of a senator who is sent to a Catholic boarding school in an attempt to tame her. Simone is her teacher and head of the dorm she is placed in. From the very beginning Annabelle takes an interest in Simone and aims to befriend her and challenge her emotions and beliefs. The maturation of the relationship is beautiful to watch as it is complex and has the student leading the teacher forward into the world.
The cinematography is fantastic. I would recommend this movie just for that alone. The scenes flow fluidly serving to accentuate the inherent meanings and emotion behind them. You get drawn in without your knowledge until you are one with the characters.
The beautiful soundtrack (which i wish was available on cd!!) makes a huge difference with meaningful songs well placed in the movie adding to the wonderful scene selections and acting.
Trust me, you want to watch this movie. It does not aim to justify but tell a story.
