N.C.I.S.......2008-02-28
Navel Criminal Investigative Service, This series is amazing i watch them with my daughter, and we both LOVE all of the episodes, I suggest watching all the seasons in order.
All the episodes are humorous and entertaining, after just one episode we were hooked, all the characters are so different but you feel like you get to know them and understand there comments to one and another
I LOVE NCIS
So pleased with it I've even bought it for my sister.......2007-10-16
I know I've mentioned this before but my sister introduced me to NCIS a couple of months ago and I bought series one, then series two (after some delivery problems), and now I've bought one copy for myself and one for my sister (Happy Christmas kiddo).
An outstanding series and we finally have extras (not many but it's a start). I look forward to series 4.
Still excellent.......2007-10-05
*season 2 spoiler*
I think this has been the best series so far! I was expecting the departure of Kate to be the beginning of the end, but instead it added more depth to the show. More of the characters back stories are skillfully revealed in this series, and the new character Ziva is definately as good as Kate. Plus Im glad they are still doing entertaining self-contained episodes, and there's thankfully no sign of them starting to take themselves too seriously. It was watching this season I realised just how addictive NCIS is. I can't wait for season 4. Yay for cheesy American TV!
Might be the weakest season of NCIS so far, although it's still good.......2007-09-25
It's not as consistent in quality as the second series, and an important cast member has left. Her replacement is fine, and near identical, and you rarely find yourself missing the original actress. Unfortunately some of the funny chemistry between the characters has been altered, not necessarily for the better.
There's some great episodes (trapped in the container at the docks, standing in for dead assassins at a hotel) but there are a few light weight episodes that don't amount to much (the dead marine found in a Civil War era coffin, McGee's cop shooting episode).
If you're tempted then I recommend you give it a try as it's better than it looks. Also the Navy setting isn't anywhere near as restrictive and boring as it sounds. Very little is set in air bases or aircraft carriers. Though I would recommend you start with the second series.
Hits the mark!.......2007-09-07
Finally, some special features! The Region 2 versions of season one and season two were just six disks of episodes (4 on each, 3 on the last disk). However eventually we have got through to the publishers and have got the following special features on a bonus disk:
*The Real NCIS Declassified
*Hit The Head Montage
*The Round Table
*The Women of NCIS
*NCIS, Season of Change
Aside from the special features, the box sets are very well designed (matching the other two and looking very nice on my shelf! Parents are warned that, as with all of the episodes, I would advice you to watch them first as they can be exceptionally gory sometimes. Quality is excellent and the plots are as good as ever.
As a side note this season sees the sub plot of Terroris 'Ari Huswari' come to a very dramatic end. As such I would recommend seeing seasons 1 and 2 first (available from Amazon). If you don't want to buy the full season I suggest you see:
*Episode 16: Bete Noire (SEASON ONE)
*Episode 23: Revelle (SEASON ONE)
*Episode 23: Twilight (SEASON TWO)
Those episodes introduce Ari and the first part of the third season wouldn't really make much sense to someone who had not seen them.
Thanks very much for reading!
