I love this season of DALLAS! It's got compelling viewing, excellent drama, great acting and top-notch scripts. In this season you'll find murder, banking fraud, kidnapping, adultery, alcoholism, cancer, vengeance, a miscarriage, extortion, bribery, etc. It's all gripping and juicy stuff! J.R. is so nasty this season that his comeuppance is inevitable in the season finale!

DALLAS and its fine actors could always generate emotion in the viewer and Barbara Bel Geddes (Miss Ellie) gives a fantastic performance in the episodes "Mastectomy, parts 1 & 2" in which she won an Emmy award as she relives her real-life mastectomy during these episodes. Jock Ewing played by Jim Davis has such strong on-screen presence and he's impressive to watch.

All in all, a fantastic season with gripping self-contained episodes containing excellent drama, and of course the world-famous "Who Shot J.R. ?" episode "A House Divided" makes this DVD set a treat to own!

Yes, this is the season which made DALLAS the number 1 TV show for several years in over 70 countries. The classic episode "A House Divided", with the "Who shot J.R.?" cliffhanger, is ranked as one of the most watched episodes in TV history with over 350 million viewers around the world in 1980. DALLAS was that big.

In this season every episode is a timeless classic. The storylines and plots are fresh, timeless, ingenious and make for great drama. There is no boring part in this exciting season. Each episode is well written and acted, and there are some emotionally tear-jerking scenes. The drama is that good.

You will get hooked on this excellent TV show. I'm already looking forward to watching more seasons on DVD when they are released. I hope Warner releases more seasons of DALLAS on DVD much quicker, as once a year is far too long. I thoroughly recommend this third season DVD box set.
