This is my all time favourite tv show, I love the whole concept, how money cant buy happiness.
The characters are great and work so well together.
The best Character is Virginia she is so funny, Im glad this had come out on DVD, iv got the second series im going to buy the first now.
I used to tape it when it was on tv.
Well worth watching!!!!

The Best TV Program Ever In The World Now On DVD!!.......2006-03-23

This is my all time favourite TV program. I am so glad to see it has finally been released in the UK on DVD. It has been in the USA on DVD for ages but I couldn't play them on my old TV. I have all the series one on video and all the other 3 series on DVD. I wish they would make another series or even just a special one off episode just to show us how the characters are getting on after the last few years. Anyone else wants this please make your views known!! I am thinking of starting a petition to send to ITV to try to get another episode or something! TV hasn't been the same since the Braithwaites last series ended. I used to like Bad Girls as well but the last couple series of that were rubbish. ANYWAY, BUY THIS DVD!!!

Great view on family life!!.......2006-03-20

I saw this series on English television quite a few years back and I recorded BOTH the first series and the second series. It was a great comedy.
Unfortunately, as one does, I taped over it and it was lost forever.
Imagine my glee when I found the DVD's on Amazon but only in NTSC format. I bought these but could not play them on my DVD player. And then Amazon UK bought out the first series on DVD so I purchased it.
It is still incredibly funny and all the actors and actresses are incredibly funny, even after all these years.
But how long do we have to wait before they bring the Second Series for the UK out on DVD?
Because the first series is not good without the second.
I recommend it to anyone. A great way of enjoying yourself for an afternoon.

Light entertainment for cold winter evenings.......2006-03-19

What if you won the lottery and didn’t tell your family? Whilst most families experience drama at some point, the lives of every member of the dysfunctional Braithwaite family are fraught with melodrama. In the space of a few short months the family encounters teenage pregnancy, lesbianism, infidelity and bribery. The characters are easy to warm to even if there are times when you want to bash them around the head and scream “What are you doing? Think!” It’s light entertainment that I recommend for long, cold winter evenings. Established actors Peter Davison and David Braithwaite head the cast and are well supported.

This is my all time favourite TV program ever!! You can now get Series one on VHS and DVD in the UK or on DVD in the USA from Amazon and also Series Two on US DVD from Amazon!! If you can play US Region 1 NTSC DVD's this is a must have!! I don't think TV has ever been the same since the last series of the Braithwaites ended! I wish that ITV would make another series of the Braithwaites or at least one more one off special episode. I am thinking of starting a petition to send to ITV and Yorkshire Television to get more Braithwaites so if you agree and would like to see more please make your views known here or anywhere else you can!!!! This series is absolutely incredibly witty and well written. The characters are all completely dysfunctional and played superbly by the actors and actresses. I just hope they bring out the other series made. This DVD has been waited for too long!!
