This dvd is brilliant if your into any type of aerobic workout. My gym started offering kick aerobics classes which are fantastic but I was looking for something to use when I couldn't get to the class and this really filled the void. Although Billy's lycra pants might be enough to put anyone working out...it's worth persevering!!! I am well used to aerobic workouts as sometimes i attend 4 intensive classes a week and i still found this a good and tough workout. If your looking for something to really burn calories try the advanced section and keep going till the end and you'll really notice the difference. If your looking for an easier workout the beginner's section is good but it definitely doesn't use up anywhere near as much energy as the advanced. this workout also really helps with co-ordination and balance which i find helps me in everyday life.

This is by far the best dvd for this type of exercise. Most other dvds have an element of tae bo in them but all fail to explain the techniques required properly. The instructional section is a must for anyone who intends to follow any boxercise/ tae bo style workout on any other dvd without doing themselves an injury. The only downside is the highly irratating blonde who works out behind billy and keeps screaming wooooaaaa! at every opportunity! other than that all other dvds are just copies of this one
Billy Blanks Get Ripped 2.......2007-12-05
I've bought a few Billy Blanks workout DVD's and by far,I reckon this is the best one. It aims at all levels, so you've got a basic and advanced workout, and even an 8 minute workout, which is a brilliant quick fix first thing before you go to work, or just to get your heartrate going and burn a few calories. The moves and combo's are easy to learn, and you can definately 'feel the burn' the following day. Plus, Blanks is light hearted and entertaining, and has a real pleasant and motivating way of encouraging you to complete the workout.
Not for beginners!.......2007-06-07
This is a great workout if you are seriously fit and have a big lounge to work out in. The instructional workout is very good and completely necessary if you do not want to injure yourself. I am not unfit but I bought the DVD because I wanted a more aerobic work out and fat burn. Well this doesn't disappoint, however if like me, you have any niggly back or knee problems this could make them worse as you really need to get the moves absolutely right otherwise you will find yourself in trouble, particularly the kicks.
Although I enjoyed the workout, I found that I have to keep repeating the instructional workout and then the main workout which took way too long and was too exhausting. You will see results but I found that I was bulking up muscle wise which was an unwanted side effect and to be absolutely frank I was scared to death that I might injure myself which just put me off!.
If you need a workout without complicated moves and easy to follow instructions this is not it - I would recommend this for the SERIOUSLY fit only.

I was your average guy with below average gut! Last year, at the beginning of the year,I started going to gym for the first 13 weeks or so (like the year before that...) and then work commitments, trek to gym and etc etc endless excuses got in the way and the outcome? back to sitting in front of the telly wishing I could lose the weight!! This year, I decided to stop the excuses.How? well no trek to gym and do something on my own time: what? Get a fitness DVD!!! So far so good...But, if you are not serious about losing the wieght and looking MUCH MUCH better than you are now, don't buy fitness DVDs!!!
Back to this DVD: In this particular DVD , you have three choices: Beginner's (half hour or so), 8 minutes or Advanced (one hour) sessions.
Each session is pacey, fast, gets your body moving, your arms swinging and your legs kicking!! If you have time, you can use beginners or advanced. If you don't, you can use 8 minutes session. Whatever you choose, trust me, you'll sweat bucket loads and feel better.
The instructor gets even closer to the screen and pretends he is looking at you and gives you encouragements and instructions which make you do them!!!
Are you looking for one fitness DVD that you'll always love and use? Get this one. I recommend it. Well done Billy!!

This DVD is an excellent tool for the astanga student who is unable to work with a teacher. the teaching and instructions are clear. Beryl Bender Birch is a supportive and inspirational teacher. Use with Beryl Bender Birch Power Yoga for a more detailed look at the postures and teaching tips with their modifications.
