Fun but............2007-02-22
I saw Mr Motivator for the first time on the TV show, the Wright stuff this year and bought his dvd because I liked what I saw. I told a friend that I had bought his dvd and she laughed saying thats whom her Mum and peers used to use. I didn't know him because I haven't lived in England that long.
I thought the dvd was fun. I enjoyed the dancing perhaps because I have an African background. Some parts reminded me of dances we did in the playground at school! I liked the music and each section has different music, some of it has a reggae feel! It has 9 sections which you can mix and match for your workout. Like the other reviewers my favourite is the pyramid especially the second one. The only section to make me really sweat!
The down side of this dvd is that it did not work me hard enough. I am of average fitness. I haven't worked out in a while but do a lot of walking and have two young kids. Each section lasts just 7 minutes and just when you think, this is getting hard, its over. There is a few seconds wait before the next section which cools down your heart rate as well.
After reading lots of various fitness reviews, I decided to go with the Davina dvds and I must say that is waay better. Perhaps not as fun but really gets you going and afterwards you feel like you have had a real workout!
A real Motivation.......2007-02-06
I used this to kick start my weight loss program and my family commented on my thighs looking more streamlined-even without dieting! It is easy to mix and match sections. Yes, sometimes the 'dull-elevator like' music does get in the way, but I tend to focus on the moves, besides it is upbeat and always in my head! Easy but effective. The pyramid is awesome. I will definitely recommend this DVD and will buy another one to interchange with when I get bored. I really get motivated by Mr Motivator.
yay, Mr. Mmmmmm is back!!! ;).......2007-01-24
Wahey, Mr. M is back at last!. This is really good fun, but still gets you sweating. The Pyramid workouts really get your heart pumping, and the other sections for toning are good but not too intense. You can play this all the way through or mix and match the sections into your own routine, which is great if you are easily bored doing the same routine day in day out. Some of this based on Soca Calypso, and these bits sometimes made me giggle too much at first, but is really good fun. I would recommend this if you want a fun workout. The scenery is stunning and so is Mr. M, hard to beleive he's 54. But WHEN are we going to get his other excercise videos on DVD. Mr. M we lovely wobbly ladies need you!!.
Unmotivated.......2007-01-12
I wanted a change from my usual workout video with music from the 90s, & expected this one to have a bit more 'zing'. The workout moves aren't synchronised to the music which I found basically monotonous background music,& I also had to turn up the sound to be able to hear Mr Motivator's voice- the outside locations don't help sound quality either. The camera work comes at it from different angles & distances at times, e.g.from behind a tree or below grass. There's no introduction or explanations, just straight into the moves & you need to be fairly fit, quick & lithe to keep up with some of this Caribbean hip wiggling. Some of the workout moves are baically much the same as my old Rosemary Conley one which I think i will go back to doing now. I would imagine it would be great if you were actually there with him on location & feeling uninhibited, so you don't need to be too shy about 'shakin' it all about' in your suburban living room!
