Walk away the Pounds.......2007-02-01
I am sixty years old and quite fit. I got fed up with other Exercise DVDs that were full of quite difficult dance steps. I enjoy walking so I thought I would try the Power Walking DVD. It was the best money I could have spent. The exercises are simple but hard work, as Leslie Sansone puts it "these exercises are not cissie stuff" the whole work out was fat burning all the way through. With the optional use of hand weights it made for an excellent work out. If you are not as fit as you would like may I suggest you start off with the 1 or 2 mile workouts and build up to the 3 mile one. I felt the benefits in just a few days. Go for it if you like walking.
Excellent wieght loss video........2006-08-09
I started out with one of Leslies first videos when I weighed 113 kg having put on weight during pregancy and through stopping smoking.
At first I could barely do the warm up and amazingly after a few weeks even at that weight I was able to get through all of them.
I now use the Walk Away the Pounds super fat burning and love the challenge of the weights. Could use more leg challenge though.
I am now 70kg in weight. That is a weightloss of 43 kgs.
I love the short stretch at the end as it targets the main muscles that need stretching and as a result I have never suffered pain and injury.
I am afraid I cannot stand the long dreary drawnout stretches of many of the available fitness videos and leslies suit me fine.
Fantastic Workout..........2006-04-13
I'd recommend this workout to anyone who wants real results and more than the standard 'celebrity' let down. Leslie is a genuine professional and really knows what she's doing. The three miles fly by and you feel fabulous afterwards. She lifts the pace steadily and you'll notice the results the day after - particularly in your calves! but perseverance brings fast changes, especially when coupled with the hand weights. It's an all over workout, with discreet music and good company - you feel like your working out with friends, I'd recommend it to anyone!
3 mile walk away the pounds.......2004-10-30
Well having reviewed the 2 mile walk aerobics and the 4 mile, I thought it was time to review the 3 mile WATP!
Equivalent to 15 minute mile (45 mins in total). Leslie uses at 1.5 miles the WATP weights. They weight two pounds in total. They do not come with the DVD.
It definitely gets you into a sweat and some of the arm movements are hard to do, only because of gravity and the fact that I have a lack of co-ordination so I find it extra difficult! Leslie uses a routine of kicks, knee lifts, side steps and kickbacks. They have a girl performing the movements at a lower intensity for people who find their joints aren't as supple to help you out whilst you progress.
It is a very American video and once you get past that it's not a bad work out. Well worth the buy and the next step from the 2 mile walk.
Go on try it!
a great dvd!.......2004-07-08
i already have a few of these dvds and this is one of the better ones.a good pace and the choice of using weights in the work out.my only nigggle is that the stretches at the end are minimal.a good workout.

Leave it on the shelf!.......2004-01-06
This woman has no personality whatsoever! The fact that she feels the need to shout 'huh' every now and again at irrelevant stages suggests that the director was holding up a card to prompt her lest she forget. If you have a modicum of fitness this DVD is a waste of time as you won't break into a sweat. If you do buy it, listen out for the chimes of the ice cream van near the end of the cool down stretch. Leave it on the shelf!
Safe and energising!.......2003-12-02
Bought this impulsively wondering if I would be disappointed with another "celebrity" fitness video, but liked the clean, no-nonsense style of the DVD cover. Found that doing the workout was as straightforward and refreshing as the cover looked. Builds up gradually - lots of stretching and the dancey main workout really gets me sweating but with enough energy for the simple but effective floor section. Contrary to the above reviewer, I thought repeating the moving stretches a few times was great because I often find other workout videos ignore the benefits of stretching - this workout looks at everything, strength, suppleness and stamina. I also feel that Penny's voice is nice and clear and authoratitive - although sometimes her calling out "Huh!" a la MC Hammer made me laugh! She seems to enjoy herself and I find her enthusiasm infectious. I recommend this to someone who likes dancey moves, wants to feel toned, stretched and energised (rather than flat-out exhausted). Nice calming view of the sea in the background and rather minimalist but unintrusive music. Well done Penny!
ultimate body workout penny lancaster.......2003-12-02
i enjoyed this very much. i liked the section on posture, and the main workout. i am unfit and am just getting back into exersise and thought this is a good start. penny looks good so thats a bit of an incentive to the workout. the only thing that i would have liked was a bit more information about diet as well at the beginning ( there is a mention). this workout though would probably not be very challenging to someone who is at fit already.
Don't waste your money.......2003-11-25
I could just leave it at the title, but perhaps I'd better explain. Penny Lancaster is impossibly glam (a bit off-putting perhaps, unless you are in the younger end of the market, which is I think where this is aimed) but has the personality of...well, a blank DVD. Her calling is poor, she is terrible at motivating and I got no sense that she 'owned' the routine. The standing stretch sequence is repeated three times under the guise of being three different section parts, much of what we are asked to do is terribly dull, some of the floorwork is dangerously under-explained, her idea of Pilates moves laughable (go buy a Lynn Robinson if you don't believe me), the odd boxing movement ridiculous (I would guess she doesn't want to bulk up). In fact, the only part I liked at all was the main routine: high impact, quite fun (if rather short), terribly eighties in many ways but no worse for that (and it suits her look); it is for that I gave two stars, as the rest would get nothing.

Really gentle post natal toning up yoga........2006-08-02
Like the simple antenatal yoga video, this is really slow paced and gentle but I found that this was exactly what I needed to recover from the birth of my baby. The DVD is arranged into sections so you can do the whole lot (about an hour) or use the skip scene feature on you DVD player to just do the 2 or 3 sections that you want to do at that time.

Tai Chi beginners.......2008-01-09
I thought this was ok and have managed to complete the upper body tai chi no problem - looking to go on to the next stage. You can get a chi ball to add a bit of weight which makes it a tad harder.
Please..........2007-03-17
Really stank. Sorry but it just did. Not sure what the man had in mind but this was not a very useful video. Another example of why not to try and teach taiji on video.
