Excellent Fitness Video.......2006-01-27
This dvd, along with Voight's other dvd: "Total Body Pilates" make the "body reform" fitness program.
I have been looking for a fitness class to use at home since I have a new baby and tried some of the best selling dvd's. My experience is that Karen voight's products are really excellent. her instructions are clear and the presentation is perfect. After doing any of her videos (I now have almost all of them at home) I actually feel as though I had a good massage. My body feels longer and my back and abs got so much stronger in a relatively short time.
I recommend this whole heartedly.

For the absolute beginner and the VERY unfit.......2006-07-15
I'd give this a miss if you do some exercise already (whether Pilates based or not). The workout on this DVD is extremely slow-paced, low-intensity, and you don't feel much muscle work, whether during the workout or afterwards. This was the very first Pilates video I tried and I didn't find it challenging at all, and after 2 or 3 attempts I moved onto Pilates Precision and Toning with Jennifer Kries, which was much more valuable for a Pilates introduction. The Power Within demonstrates just a few of the very basic Pilates moves, and you're left completely ignorant of the wealth of other Pilates exercises out there, something I realised only once I bought Precision and Toning and saw that there is so much more to Pilates than the little bit shown in this video. So if you're relatively fit and new to Pilates, go for something else, you will soon be bored with this one. However, if you have just recently started exercising and only are just starting to get fit again, then this would be a good way of easing back into an exercise routine without too much sudden physical effort.
New to Pialtes.......2003-07-01
This was the first time i had tried pilates and was very impressed. I found that the various camera angles helped to show each exercise clearly unlike Geri Halloways Yoga which only really showed 1 angle.
I also found that the actual exercises were straight forward and were not hard to manage the only downside to his dvd was the breathing techniques sometimes I was never sure whether I should be breathing in or exhailing as at some points throughout the exercise they do forget to say.
The workout lasts just over half an hour and therefore is not too time consuming so you are able to fit it in any time of day.
If you are new to Pialtes this is well worth a go I felt quite refreshed from a half an hour workout
