Excellent Toning DVD.......2006-08-12
I exercise alot and have every exercise DVD know to mankind. Mostly I focus on cardio as the other weight/toning dvds tend to move along too quickly trying to cram too many exercises onto the DVD whilst compromising form. This DVD focus's on slow toning moves using weights. Although I'm not a big fan of Ulrika, Jenny Dawes her trainer is excellent. All the exercises are slow and controlled. I thought I had strong shoulders until I did this routine and I really felt it next day.
I tend to do cardio first, such as Nell Mcandrew followed by 3 of these sessions after. The music is low key but it enables you to focus on the moves and working the muscles.
Really good DVD and a good price.
Perfect Partner To Other Aerobic Activity.......2006-06-06
I have always exercised frequently and have normally focused on cardio training with a view to losing weight. I finally heeded the advice of all the exercise experts and bought this DVD in January to add resistance/strength training to my workout.
The workout is very easy to follow although it can be tough on some of the areas that you are not used to working (I struggled with the press ups and tricep dips to start with). You work through the exercises with precise instructions without chit chat, which can be annoying when repeating the DVD over time.
I use this DVD twice a week doing 5 of the 6 programmes (bum & legs, chest & triceps, shoulders, arms & stomach) inconjunction with the 2-3 hours cardio activity that I have always done. All I can say is that I have been astonished with the change to my body. I have noticed a big improvement to the tone of my back, arms and chest and in particular my bum.
I can't recommend it enough. I do think you need to combine this with a cardio programme.
BORING !!.......2006-03-31
I have recently gone on an exercise dvd purchasing splurge to replace an unused gym membership and unbelievably have been able to build up a regular routine of exercising 5 times a week. I bought this one from seeing an ad on TV and have to say it is without question the most boring exercise dvd I have ever done. There are some good strength and toning exercises but I can't bring myself to do the dvd again as I found it so tedious. There are many other dvd's out there that are much more fun and motivating.
Good toning workout, but won't bring your heartrate up.........2006-01-26
I think it is a good toning workout, the exercises are done really slowly what makes you pay attention to form. The trainer is a bit military - style but you can quickly get used to it. She looks great and really inspiring.
I do not think, however, that you could achieve anything near the 3-stones weightloss of Ulrika by doing this workout alone. There is no aerobic exercise included, just the short warm-up.
One more thing. I am maybe not the thinnest person around, but my body mass index is in the normal range and I was shocked to see how Ulrika looks now. She is thin as a stick. She does not look healthy, especially standing close to her lean and muscular trainer.
Disappointing.......2006-01-23
I found this video extremely boring and unmotivational.
the instructor also gives no learning points, it's filled with deathly silence, and there is no atmosphere between the group.
I really like Ulrika and her figure is a great incentive, but I was very disappointed with the overall video.
