This DVD contains two workouts. The first is more basic than the second and is dance inspired, mainly salsa. Its a fun inclusion to your week's workout regime if your having a lazy or light day. There is a modifier who shows the easier variations to the workout. Also they have an on-set drummer who help to keep you in rhythm by emphasising beats and tempo changes.

The second workout is older than the first and looks more dated, but this does not affect the fun factor or the fact that it makes you sweat. The workout is more varied than the first and has more step patterns to learn, which are harder. Granted this workout is not as imaginative as Rob Glick, Petra Kolber or Christi Taylor but for those looking to sweat and get their heart pumping its a good workout.

Both instructors are friendly and informative. However it is assumed that you have some kind of experience stepping. Although both routines could be learnt in a few attempts.

I'm not quite sure why Crunch is so popular because this DVD is bad I mean really bad. If you do step and you do tapless step, DO NOT GET THIS DVD. It was tame, very basic and no breakdowns whatsoever. This is very 80's style step and you could do it in your sleep. I spent more time trying to put in the tap and listen to him say watch this and the second part was no better.

If you are a step instructor like me looking for some ideas, do not waste your money.

What I have learnt from walking is that good "music" causes me to push myself further than I would regularly go because I am not thinking about the walk itself. With this in mind, I set out to find a "Step" aerobics DVD that would have the same effect on me, and this is IT. The music is excellent and funky. There is one guy playing drums and at times switching to the bongos (I think that is want you call them) live. The lighting of the set is bright and pleasing to look at. I have also learnt that these things can matter.

There are two different workouts on this DVD with two different instructors; I would like to make it clear that I am talking about "Fat Blaster." Fat Blaster has no room for boredom in it. Once you learn the steps, you will enjoy it with its motivating music (played on surround sound, it is a wonderful). The instructor is male and fun. His cueing is good, but you must listen to him. I found myself so much into the music that I forgot to listen to him and missed a few steps.

If you want a motivating Step aerobics DVD, Fat Blasters is it. This workout alone is worth the price of the DVD even though there are two workouts.
