Wow

This US version of Queers as Folks is excelent. After seeing the UK version I decided to give it a go to the US. All I can say is WOW. Excelent, Wonderfull and very good. If you have not seen it, then it is a must.

Gripping!.......2006-01-28

I'd heard of Qaf-US version over the years but never wanted to watch it. As a straight female, I figured it just wasn't my thing. However, I finally broke down and bought the first season on dvd about a month ago, and boy was I wrong! Not only was Qaf hot and sexy, but it was thought provoking and real. I actually fell in love with the characters. Since then, I 've made it my business to see all the other episodes from every season. I've even gotten several "straight" family members to come aboard. My only regret is that I never acknowledged the show when it was still on tv, fresh, hot, and new.

Classic TV Show.......2004-08-12

I didn't see the UK version of this show when it was first shown on Channel 4 back in 1999, but I saw some repeats in 2003. I instantly adored the show, and discovered a couple of months later that there was an American version of the show. So, relying on good faith and recommendations, I bought the box set through Amazon.com. Quite honestly, I wasn't expecting as much as from QaF UK, but having seen both and compared them, I much prefer QaF US. There's so much more drama in this show, the characters end up much better developed (admittedly, there are more episodes) and it seems much mor well rounded. The first few episodes follow the UK one closely, but after Ted's character survives the drug overdose the series becomes it's own. And what a great series it becomes. It deserves 5 stars.

Very highly recommended! I prefer this version to the American one, the actors, storylines and overall style make this a very enjoyable watch! Go buy!

touching and thought provoking.......2004-06-14

I watched the English version, and loved it, so I wanted to see what the americans would make of it. Oh boy was I pleasantly surprised! Ok most of the sex scenes left me ..cold, but then I am not Gay; but the life and loves of a group of people, so close and so affectionate and full of the usual contraddictions of humanity and so beautifully told has been well worth watching . I am not one for soppy love stories and I was not disappointed. The Series has its share of soppiness but was well balanced by some very thought provoking and at time quite terrifying moments. The actors were brilliant and quite
belivable. All in all a brilliant series and well worth the cost.
