Amazon.co.uk Review
With confident style and low-budget ingenuity, Jeepers Creepers gets under your skin, provoking spine-tingling horror when college siblings Trish (Gina Philips) and Darry (Justin Long) encounter a flesh-eating demon along a barren rural highway. After a harrowing car chase that sets the movies nerve-wracking tone, they investigate suspicious activity near an abandoned church, where a corrugated pipe leads to unimaginable horrors. What follows is a cat-and-mouse game against the regenerating demon, which feeds on fear--and selected body parts--according to a psychic (Patricia Belcher) who adds chilling portent to the routine climax in a besieged police station. Writer-director Victor Salva (Powder) emphasises primal fear over logic, but plot holes are easily forgiven when you're scared out of your socks. A surprise box-office hit in late summer 2001, Jeepers Creepers will please even jaded horror fans with its back-to-basics frights. --Jeff Shannon, Amazon.com
On the DVD: Jeepers Creepers on disc shows off the dark tones and menacing shadows of this urban horror road movie to great oppressive effect in this anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 widescreen special edition. The schlock-horror soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and although the film predominantly relies on back-to-basics shock tactics, the audio track handles the balance of subtle dialogue and dramatic crescendos well. The DVD is also packed full of cultish extras. There are six featurettes, which add up to about an hour of documentary footage bringing together all the aspects of the production process from audition tapes, artwork, behind the scenes stuff and even a documentary on the film's two other "stars" the twins' 1960s Impala car, and the creeper's van. There is also a healthy spattering of deleted scenes an audio commentary by writer/director Victor Salva, trailers and a photo gallery. --Kristen Bowditch END

Jeepers Creepers A Poor Horror film .......2007-12-13
To be fair this film was good for about the first 20 minutes that was until you see the thing that is chasing its two victims it is some sort of beast/vampire/human type creature thing with big wings that has a drivers licences and enjoys the comfort factor of wearing farmer's boots. You would kind of thought that when this beast with wings was going for its driving test someone at the driving test centre would have been alarmed in thinking this creature with wings might not be so human and seems a little bit odd but no it managed to pass its test and soon takes to the road with its truck to try run some guy & girl of the road and even when the creature itself is then ran over and then also reversed over 9 times it still manages to survive and just fly's of somewhere which makes you wonder why the hell it needed its driving licence in the first place. Surprisingly this film was not at all scary and was rather rank rotten at attempting to be any sort of horror film at all it would of made more sense to be a comedy film.
UNDERRATED.......2007-11-03
Brother and sister Darry (Justin Long) and Trish Tenner (Gina Phillips) are driving home for spring break when they have two encounters with the unseen driver of a truck. Stopping to check for damage after the second encounter, they remember that they saw stained body bags being dumped into a sewer system. Going to check it out, Darry accidentally falls in and discovers a giant cavern full of body bags. As Gina waits for help, Darry sees something that terrifies him. Finally escaping, Darry and Trish head away from the church, they are tormented by a shadowy figure that knows what they saw in the basement of the church. After several encounters with a figure known as The Creeper begins to get them terrified, Darry and Trish run away to the local police station. The Creeper tracks them down there and tears apart the police station looking for them.
The Good News: This is probably one of the better horror films made from the last ten years. It has one of the better plot lines that I've ever seen and The Creeper is one of the better monsters from recent times. It has one of the best-looking designs, with the Gillman influence from "Creature from the Black Lagoon" shining through very clearly. That look in its face, the reptilian appearance while not being distinctly human is a great quality in a horror movie creature, and this is a good one. The creeper is also one of the smartest villains, making sure to terrify without killing so as to heighten the senses that he wanted to exploit. This allows for some nifty scenes of terror. One of my favorites is the second chase down the highway. That was a real highpoint in the film, where the truck driver is trying to get them of the road and actually ramming into them on several occasions. The tactics of them trying to get away and the driver continually coming after them makes for some effective suspense scenes as the camera is right up in there, and the close angles used to show them together with the truck brought back memories of "Duel" about road thriller suspense scenes. The first one is a great chase, but the second one is my favorite. A third scene involving chasing cars also includes two police officers as well. Escorting the kids back to the scene of the crime, the police car follows them back. One of them hears a tapping on the roof, gets out to look, and is dragged out of the car kicking and screaming. Suddenly, the second one is pulled out, and we know that he is then decapitated by the Creeper. Now without a driver, the police car steers around wildly out of control and forces the kids to stop their car as well in a giant cloud of dust. Getting out to check on the car, they see a figure in the drivers seat, who opens the door and we see the decapitated head fall out. The Creeper gets out, walks over to the head, and pulls its tongue out with its teeth. This sends them screaming again and they drive off, leaving the Creeper to its meal. That still gets me to this day, and is merely one of the brilliant parts in this movie. I also want to talk about the story. Many people hate the storyline for this one, but I liked it. It played out my favorite theme: get a story that supports ninety minutes worth of action for a film that really shouldn't be that long. As long as something is simple and can get that much screen-time for a film, then I say it's done its purpose and entertained me. Just because the story might not be plausible doesn't really affect the movie for me. It gets that time in and the film moves along fast enough, that's good enough for me. Even the small amount of gore in it didn't bother me, since it doesn't really need a ton of gore. Even the gore-hound that I am didn't really feel cheated by the lack in here, just was good enough for me to have a good time.
The Bad News: There wasn't really anything I didn't like about this movie. It did what horror movies should do: pack in lots of thrills and action into a story that supports it long enough to get ninety minutes out of it.
The Final Verdict: This is one of the better monster movies in recent times. It has a cool villain, tons of jumps, gore, and is action-packed. I really don't know why people got on this one, I think it is a great film, and one that should not pose much harm if caught on TV or picked up as a blind rental.
Jeepers Creepy.......2007-02-25
I am a big fan of horror movies and very rarely get scared by them, but of all of the ones that I have seen, Jeepers Creepers is deffinatly one of the scariest. Surprisingly, the movie succeeds in being very scary and creepy just from suspence and the idea of The Creeper. Don't get me wrong, it is gory and gruesome in parts, as the Creeper stalks people and steals parts of their body) but its doesnt need the gory to be scary, it is a scary movie on it's own, the gory bits are juast an added bonus!
Brother and sister college students, Darry (Justin Long) and Trish (Gina Phillips) are driving home from college to visit their parents for spring break when a mysterious stranger in a big rusty truck with a registration plate BEATINGU leads them on a harrowing car chase and tries to drive them off the road. Soon after this, Darry discovers and terifying chamber of horrors underground and the siblings are thrown into a game of cat-and-mouse with The Creeper, a demon who feeds on fear and seeks out people body parts e.g. eyes, tongue, which it eats to improve itself.
Jeepers Creepers is scary, suspenceful and gory and the charactors are unique and likeable. I would highly recomend this movie to fans of the horror genre.
ARE YOU A JEEPERS CREEPER, OR A JEEPERS WEEPER?.......2007-01-14
From the moment the viewer is exposed to the deserted, isolated highway roads, you can feel evil is brewing, you uncover mangled corspes and unwillingly endure road rage by a car what looks like the grim reapers one way ticket to hell, every shot is just another blood trail leading the viewer into further darkness, you're mind is hungry to know; WHAT KIND OF KILLER ARE WE DEALING WITH!
Jeepers Creepers keeps you compelled throughout the movie, the acting and disturbing images keeps you guessing at who or what kind of dilluded psychopath these poor teenagers are being subjected to, as the truth reveals it's creepy identity, you are shocked, a winged demon is brought to life with realistic effects but more significantly, it's believable and terrifying...
The location contributes to the horror and suspense as there is nowhere to hide, an open playing field, simply waiting for the inevitable event to take place; being devoured by a fierce predator, only a few locals live nearby, if they already aren't insane they sure do not believe the massacre that is taking place, this makes you care for the characters as they are alone and almost defensless against the savage that hunts them.
This is one of the most original horror pictures for a long while, it's fun, disturbing and painted with a satanic atmosphere, and more importantly gives birth to a new member of the horror hall of fame: the CREEPER!
Atrocious.......2006-10-04
The beginning is actually reasonably scary, but after the first 5 minutes, it degrades into an utter shambles, and that's being polite. I almost feel the director could have preserved a tiny semblance of horror by keeping the 'monster' a little more conspicuous, rather than revealing it as a giant green lizard human hybrid.
Said monster is endowed with a predictable and cliched backstory, whereby it awakes every 30 years or so to feed. What pointless drivel? Did anyone actually put any thought into it? And why does he kill so randomly and indescriminately and then sew them together?
This beast chases our heroes around, and eventually kills the main guy so he can have his eyes. He seems to choose his victims by smelling them to decide what parts of them he wants to eat.
Just avoid this utter calamity of a film.

FAB!!!! THE BEST!!!!.......2007-12-29
I absolutely love this film! And I'm not a big fan of monster films!
The two fresh faces - Gina Phillips (no recent film) & Justin Long (most recent film is Die Hard 4.0) - are such great actors! What a great film to debut in!
The plot of the film is basically, brother and sister are driving home for spring break (film is set in the states obviously), and out of nowhere, some crazy in a battered zooped-up lorry tries to drive them off the road..
The pair later see the same lorry parked in front of an old abandoned church, the driver is throwing some things down a pipe. The pair slow down, like you do and stare... The driver notices them and just stands there looking at them back. He is then out of shot and you can see him, a few seconds later, speeding up behind them.
And, from then on, the driver is after them...
This film will have you on the edge of your seat and by the end of the film, you would of built up a bond with the characters. You will cry, I did, when the climax of the film starts!
It is an amazing film. Except for Gina, this film was the making of Justin Long! He has since worked with big names like; lindsay lohan & bruce willis!
You have gotta see this film! CLick the buy button!
Go on! You know you want to. I know, you know, that you want to!
