Rubbish of the highest order.......2008-02-18
This sequel is just cobbled together on the back of the first film. It's just a cynical attempt to make money without providing the viewer with even an attempt at a decent movie. The story (is there a story?) is nonsense, the mutants are a joke, the troops getting bumped off are so boring that it's impossible to care about them. Don't watch this unless you really feel like being exploited by the Hollywood money-makers. I would have given it "no stars" except that option wasn't available!
Hills Have Dollar Signs In Their Eyes.......2008-02-06
There's no getting away from it, this sequel is a blatant cash-in. There is no evidence of the effort that went into its predecessor in terms of tension, suspense, or terror. But where HHE2 really falls down is the choice of characters. Whereas the first movie made us actually *like* the characters and wanted them to survive, the sequel parades a bunch of arrogant trainee soldiers whom we couldn't care less about.
I'm afraid the "soldiers vs. monsters" setup comes across as dated very quickly into the film, and we are left with a low-rent version of Aliens, or Predator, with dumb soldiers being offed in gruesome ways.
I hate it when sequels have no connection to their prequels. The semi cliff hanger of the end of part 1 isn't even mentioned, let alone resolved, and the writers simply couldn't be bothered to progress the overall story arc. About 10 seconds into this film you are basically told to forget about the last movie and treat this one as a stand-alone tale.
Oh, and another annoying thing: The artwork on the cover does NOT depict any scene in the movie. There is no scene with a girl being dragged along in a sack.
HHE2 has moments of amusement but none of the dread that saturates HHE1 so masterfully.
I hope they make a part 3 which continues the story and atmosphere of part 1, and ignores this mutation entirely.

Hills Have Eyes II Was Written by the God of Horror Wes Craven and his son.
When i first started watching it I thought it was going to be rubbish because of all the guns and things. The suspense is immense and you never know whats going to happen. You Start to get a real sense of who all the characters are. You start to have feelings for them and want them to survive. Michael Bailey Smith usually directs music videos but done a good job of this surprisingly. Unfortunately there are draw backs , one of them being that parts of the story could have been missed out and slowed it down. Overall its a great film well worth a watch!

I thought this was better than THHE1. Those that are after a "gore-fest" won't go wrong here...
It's 'hide behind the sofa' entertainment at its best and if you like this genre of horror films then you'll like this one.

The remake was OK, but this is just drivel. Even the gore effects are very poor.

The film "The Hills have Eyes 2" ist the sequel to the horror film "The Hills have Eyes". It begins with a help call of some scientist out in the desert in New Mexico. Soon the scientist get slaughtered by some loathsome nuclear mutants with super forces who look like humans but who don't behave like humans at all. Then several soldiers are sent outside the desert to look after the disappeared persons. But then the soldiers get slaughtered by the hillbillies too.
The movie is very bloody and shouldn't be watched by little children because it is very violent and disturbing and sick ang twisted and perverted and bloody and creepy and exctiting and rated R.
Yes. So is that.
