ITS HOYT NOW!!!!.......2008-02-24
this movie is possibly my favourite horror movie, every character acts really well. Hoyt & Leatherface play amazing roles. if you wanna see the greatest horror film made, buy this, hell even if you dislike the horror genre, you should own this dvd.

I absolutely loved Marcus Nispel's remake of TCM and so I eagerly awaited the arrival of this one. I was not disappointed! It's truly horrific in places and it had me squirming and trying hard not to look away!
As you would expect, it follows 4 teens travelling through THAT hick town and yep, they have the misfortune of running into good ol' Sheriff Hoyt. (We actually get to see how he became Sheriff earlier on in the film.) As soon as they arrive at the home of the Hewitt's all hell breaks loose. There are some more classic one liners from Hoyt, delivered as only he can.
It shows us why Leatherface is so called and also why he's so darned angry. There are some pretty graphic scenes involving that infamous chainsaw and one of them must have been dreamed up by a pretty scary person! I refer to the one where Eric is nailed down to a table. If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean, if you haven't and are a good fan of gore and blood then you will be quite satisfied!
All in all, it's a great prequel. It could have been so much worse but this obviously fell into the right hands. Tobe Hooper should be proud. Buy this if you like lots of blood and guts and also if you like extreme tension and claustrophobia. Buy it especially if you enjoyed the Marcus Nispel remake of TCM, as they are made in the same vein.

Blimey what a film,i didnt know what this was gonna be like at first and to be honest didnt really know how they were gonna get round it.But how very wrong i was.The story basically starts from the beginning of "Leatherface`s" reign,and my god its just goes from bad to worse for the victims.
I`m not gonna give to much away but if you`re looking for a really good Horror movie,then dont delay rent/buy today...you wont be disapointed!!!
A worthy beginning.......2007-09-11
Draws heavily on the TCM (original) and TCM 2 establishing the family setting but more a homage than a direct copy. R Lee Emery is superb once again and it's really his movie, with Leatherface-to-be as his mutilated sidekick. It's not necessarily scary but it is, however, extremely violent (the unrated version anyhow), gory and very, very dark. Chop Chop Chop
It's Got Everything..........2007-07-18
I was so surprised as to how good a movie this is. It is very similar to the 2003 remake so if you didn't like that one you probably won't like this one. The story is simple; 4 very good-looking friends get lured into a house of sadistic murderers and cannibals. It may not sound like much, but this is perfect in terms of its genre. There's gore here, there and everywhere, the entire cast are fantastic and you will be rooting for them to survive just on their model looks alone (shallow I know, but true!). This is definitely one for the collection and the uncut version has even more violence. BUY IT NOW!
