I have had this for over 2 years, and just replaced it with a Fuji Finepix which has a better Optical Zoom for a similar cost. Big plusses are lightweight, very long battery life, easy to navigate.I have also found this camera to be very robust, trust me if there is a way to break a camera, I can do it
Minuses, took a while to adjust to lighting when it was new, sometimes takes 2 or more photos instead of one, difficult to turn flash off, close up shots can be blurry and night shots can be interesting but never as expected, takes fantastic firework shots though. I have used the video function with a voiceover before now and it is also useful for stuff that doesn't need sound, firework displays etc.
Overall good value for money and has served me well for the 1000's of shots I have taken all ovr the world
Excellent camera!.......2007-03-22
I have had my mju600 (albeit in black) for over a year. I have travelled several times abroad in this time, accompanied by it and my film SLR. The pictures have always been excellent, and the camera is easy to use.
The screen is big and clear and the picture modes are numerous, although again easy to use.
To answer some of the criticism, if you cannot take pictures with this camera, then you are an idiot. How difficult is it to point the camera, focus it then squeeze the button to capture the image???!
If you drop electrical equipment, then suprise suprise, it is liable to break! Hw can you criticise the camera when you dropped it?
Before you rush on here to say how bad it is, spend some time (not 5 minutes) using it, trying out the different modes etc, read the manual and have a bit of patience.
I would highly recommend this camera. It offers an excellent allround package at a great price. It was also rated highly by camera magazines and newspaper articles.
decent camera.......2006-08-03
I got this cam at christmas and have had no problems with it! i've only had to charge it twice, and it's now the start of august!
I find it mostly easy to use and it does take great pictures, even if i do say so myself.
I am not by a long shot, a professional photographer, but the pictures look great to me.
the macro is amazing, i can't believe how detailed the pictures are!
i've read the other reviews here saying it takes bad pictures... maybe they're not using it right!!
and the cracked screens? what do you expect if you drop it?!?!
i will agree with the video not having sound, that's a bit pointless, one star off for that... but to be honest, if i wanted to take a video, i'd use a video camera, not a digital camera *shrugs*
overall, i'd say this was a good, decent camera for a beginner like myself, it's easy to use and does take good quality pics.

I've had this camera for about 2 months and have had no problems as yet! I find it easy to use and it takes great pictures. I'm no professional photographer, but the pics look good to me, and the camera's perfect for what I need it for.

I bought this camera in November 2005, and found it easy to use. The pictures were generally good, except for the "Available Light" setting - they were VERY poor.
However, now the screen has cracked, and is totally useless. I didn't understand how this could have happened as the camera was in a case, inside a bag. I see from other reviews here that I am not the only one to experience this.
I am deeply disappointed to see that this seems to be an intrinsic problem, and on that basis would not recommend this camera to anyone.
