I should have loved this camera;Build Quality is superb,3" LCD perfect,28 mm wide Angle,Optical Image stabiliser etc etc;But the image quality,despite Image stabilisation,is not quite sharp enough,pictures are soft and noisy in my view.I swapped mine for a Nikon P5000 and saw a great improvement;A shame cos the Lumix should have been a real winner!!!!

Excellent camera.......2007-01-01

Found this camera after a long search of the others in the same price range and snapped it up as it was clearly the best. It hasn't disappointed us in any way and the long range zoom (21x with digital zoom) coupled with image stabilisation has actually far exceeded our expectations! The 3inch screen is a fantastic addition and there is a function for above the head shooting which alters the brightness of the screen and it really does make a difference. The interface is exceptionally easy to adjust to and makes sense.
It would have been nice to get a case with it and maybe a bigger SD card (we bought a 512Mb) but the camera is capable and user friendly anyway. A shop trial comparing this to the Canon Ixus showed that the Canon is no match in terms of photo clarity and is slower on shutter lag too.
