Excelent budget camera for 'ordinary' users.......2007-08-12
Bought for somebody else who wants point and shoot this is simple to use, decent quality pictures and easy for operate. It is also nice and small and almost vanishingly light weight (unlike the pictures).
I'm almost tempted to get one as a pocket backup to a more serious camera - I know which I would take to the beach!
Best Budget Compact.......2007-07-30
As a owner off 3 DSLR's and someone who is a bit picky when it comes to the quality of my imges, i have to say i can't fault this camera really. It's image quality is as good, if not better at times than my Canon 30D. My only advice would be to play with the EV settings as the auto mode does overexpose alot. I bought mine in a well known high street shop, but they have now discontinued this model and the cheapest place to get one is through Amazon. Buy this camera with confidence.
Perfect as a "Night-time" Camera for Party People.......2007-07-07
I usually take all my photos with the impessive Fuji S5500 camera, but have found it too large to "whip out" in a hurry in a bar or restaurant and check the settings prior to shooting.
I previously bought an A500 to take photos where there was low light and required a point and shoot capability - the A500 was rubbish for this as every photo had red-eye regardless of the setting, so; I purchased the F20 based on the reviews I read here (and a brand loyalty to Fuji - who usually always produce quality cameras) and I am impressed.
Close up flash photography produces remarkably clear "eye" shots without a hint of red nor a bleaching of the subject at close range. The "Party" setting produces an incredibly soft yet well lit photo which looks like a professional shot when viewed on print (or Screen).
I agree with the comment that ladies will love this camera as it is small, light and has a large 2 inch viewing screen. One last thing - the response time from turning on to taking a photo is fast so you don't miss your shot and the refresh rate between flash charges is also impressive. Best price at the moment is £79.99 in a well known high street catalogue store. Purchase and be impressed (mine is in the charcoal finish and adds additional "street cred")
Good price !.......2007-07-04
I bought this camera just recently from a well known high street store - Special offer for £79.99! Not all bargains are online! it pays to shop around!
A gem of a camera.......2007-07-01
I was after a point and shoot camera for my wife, which would be easy to
use and take good pictures.
The reviews of the F20 were excellent and the camera has been a revelation.
Intuitively it is very easy to use. The resulting photos are stunning.
It easily beats my Canon Ixus 400, which was three times the cost.
My serious camera is a Nikon digital SLR and I'm very tempted to replace
my portable Ixus with an F20, it's that good for portability and results.
It's ability to shoot in low light is superb and I can testify that its
flash results are some of the most natural shots I've seen.
At this price (£99) you get a sturdy feeling camera (not plastic like
many at this price point) which is a joy to use and produces great
results.

Better value than its younger brothers.......2007-11-21
I first saw this on the Ch5 Gadget show, just after being burgled and losing my HP-R707 camera. The F30 is so much better than any of the several comparable digital cameras I tried at the time (and subsequently).
Good points: amazingly good battery life from the standard NP95 Li-Ion and rapid recharge; very fast shutter response; excellent lens; good colorimetry; good picture performance so long as you restrict the ISO to 400 or less; surprisingly good flash; very easy to use, no need to RTFM although this can be of benefit for discovering deeper menu items.
OK points: takes a few moments to wake up from fully off, but OK therafter; also soon after wake up from a long sleep sometimes you need to remember to tickle the flash in advance of needing it; movies are OK, but low resolution, however several minutes can be stored and still have room for a hundred full res pics on a 1Gig card; zoom is only 3:1, but with 6M pixels cropping is useful and gives better results than the digital zoom; the antishake works OK, but some absolute resolution is lost, however not a problem if you use the whole image.
Bad points: forget the Fuji software, I could not get it to run properly under XP, just load the driver to handle the USB peculiarities, and use standard photo tools; the annoyingly fiddly little plastic flap, but it's amazingly still intact after six months and thousands of pics by both of us; no soft case supplied, but some of the nice phone protectors fit snugly.
I had no regrets when the HP was stolen, but I would really miss the F30! I'm considering buying another F30 (one each) while they are still available.
What an amazing little camera!!!!!.......2007-09-16
I bought this camera earlier this year as i wanted a decent camera to take with me on my honeymoon. I do abit of scuba diving and so wanted a camera that was good in low light conditions. What can i say other than i would fully recommend this camera to anybody. The huge screen is great, it's compact and takes amazing pictures. My wife bought a sony cyber digital camera around the same time as me,and on comparing pictures when we uploaded them on our return, the quality of the Fuji F30 Finepix really shone through.
10 out of 10, superb!!! This camera is also alot better than it's replacement the F31, so buy one while you can.
scuba divers take note.......2007-07-19
I bought this camera specifically for underwater macro photography after reading a review in a diving magazine. You can order an underwater housing specific to this model. This camera is awesome and has taken the best shots ever. It has a fantastic underwater setting that automatically adjusts the problem with loss of colour underwater. The macro is excellent and it has a nice big display screen for viewing through an underwater housing in low light. However this camera is also an excellent all rounder ranging from the quick party snapshot to landscape photography.
Excellent.......2007-07-13
Excellent photo and movie quality. The battery life is amazing, lasts for weeks. Small, lightweight and the large display screen on the rear is excellent
Excellent camera.......2007-07-10
I have owned this camera for a couple of months and as a non-specialist I have found it to be excellent. My wife finds it easy to operate and I thoroughly recommend it. Great battery life and quick. I read quite a few reviews before I bought it and have not been dissatisfied.
