I have owned 3 digital cameras 3mp.5mp.all ok cameras, but for,simpleness, price, and quality, you cant beat the 8300 if used patiently and properly the results will be worth it.
so stick a 1g memory card in very cheap from "Amazon" and click away.

This was a present to myself, my old Sony (3.2 megapixels) being a bit too big to carry around easily. The vivcam is a nice looking little camera but that's just about where my love affair with it ended. Daytime shots were fine although everybody had to stand very still. Flash shots were of a uniformly poor quality and there were red eyes everywhere. In my opinion my old camera, in spite of being lower spec, takes better pictures.

The camera was a present from my husband and quite a surprise as we have 7 other camera (2 other digitals). We have just returned from New York where I hinted like mad to had a 'new' camera. However, my husband found no greater reduction and decided to buy in England - well New York is a long way to take it back if I didn't want it!
The camera works a dream and very easy to understand. I have waded my way through the manual - twice and find that other settings on manual produce wonderful pictures. However, set the camera to AUTO and enjoy - the camera does everything! The Portrait produce fantastic close up shots of the family. The macro is really good on close-ups and the night-time feature is a must!
The movie footage is 30fps and looks great on the PC or television. I got about 30 mins. with my 1 Gb SD card. The quality is better than some of the best digital camcorders. I still call it 'cine.'
All the leads and connections you would ever need are with the camera. However, if best resolution set, back lcd left on and flash used you will only take 30-40 photos before a re-charge but, they will be the best 30-40 pictures you can view!
Would love to find a car charger for this camera. If anyone has any ideas?????
