Perfect Companion.......2004-07-27

I have had one of these for just over five years, and it has more than proven its worth. Incredibly sturdy (it has accompanied me snowboarding, whitewater-rafting and on evenings of general disorder without suffering any ill-effects) it is also a lovely camera to use. I am no expert in the finer points of the art of photography, but this baby and I have taken some really lovely pictures. I take it with me everywhere, it's small enough to fit in a handbag. It's perfect for the point-smile-click candidate, but with very little effort it is possible to get all creative with some black-and-white film and a bit of ingenuity. The zoom (23-69mm)is the only shortfalling I can think of, but I very rarely found that I needed a more powerful zoom. As far as I can see, this is the ideal compromise between portability and sophistication. For anybody heading off on a world tour, dithering between a chunky SLR and a lighter point 'n' shoot, this is the way to go. I think the nicest thing I can say about this camera is that any bad photos it took were a result of my cheerful incompetence.
