Terrible Sound Quality.......2008-01-15
We didn't get it playing through both speakers in the car. The sound was coming from the speaker on the right only, so you can imagine how annoying it was trying to listen any decent music. I thought there might be a trick we didn't know but by reading the other reviews, I started to lose hope.

I use my SE W580i as my main mp3 player and use the phone with two different bluetooth headphones (one Sony for day-to-day and one Motorola for the gym) and it's great having no wires. I thought this would be the perfect way to play back mp3 in the car. Wrong! It paired with the phone easily but the sound quality playing back through the car system was awful - totally distorted and bordering on the 'dalek'. Tried this using various FM frequencies and in two cars, one of which had a soft top (i.e. no metal roof to block the signal) but just as bad in both.
Amazon back up first class as always - returned the faulty item and requested a replacement. Amazon emailed me straight back to say it would be 1 to 2 months so would I prefer a refund - yes please!
Appaling Sound Quality.......2008-01-03
I received one of these yesterday and I've returned it today as the sound quality is so poor.
I used it with a Nokia 6300 phone which I've also used with a pair of Sony bluetooth headphones. With those the sound quality is very good so it's not the phone that's the problem. I also tried this device in two cars but in both the sound from the radio was extremely muffled and bass notes were badly distorted.
I love the concept of a device like this but I'm afraid Gear4's implementation is fundamentally flawed.
