Just a couple of minor observations.......2008-01-08
Agree with the positive comments from earlier reviews: a nice case, well-fitting and, most importantly, I feel that it will protect the machine in the dubious depths of my handbag.
Just a couple of observations:
1. What is the purpose of the velcro tag inside? I must be a bit dim as I can't think of a good use for it and it's crossed my mind that it could scratch the screen over time, and...
2. The fit of my case is so snug that when I close the lid, I feel that it could wear away the finish on the top corner of the Tom Tom over time (sorry about this last comment, I know that it sounds a bit prissy, but I do like to try to keep things in good condition!).

I was very pleased with my case as it fitted my Tom Tom perfectly, kept it protected, and more importantly as it was such a snug fit, it fits into my pocket when I go to clients (added bonus!)

I bought this at the same time as when i got my TomTom as I always try to keep things in cases - especially when they are mobile. It seems like it's made of some type of neoprene type fabric and your TomTom will fit snuggly inside. Not particularly exciting (hence the rating) but a good investment none-the-less. You're bound to be carrying it around when you travel and not leave it in the car (to be stolen), so your TomTom needs something to keep the screen in good condition and to stop it getting knocked around too much when in your bag. All in all, definitely worth the purchase.

Not impressed with the item, I was expecting a genuine Tom Tom One carry case for the price I paid [...]and received a leather case that could have been purchased elsewhere for half the cost. Not happy.

Average but expensive.......2008-01-11
I'm sorry, but I have to agree in part with JJ Moore. "Tomtom one XL" is plastered across the front of the case so that if anyone was in any doubt about what's in the case, they need wonder no longer. It would be a lot less conspicuous in an unmarked bag or case. But apart from that, I cannot understand for the life of me how this One XL carry case can retail at £18. I believe that if the black fabric covering was stripped away, a simple cardboard case would be revealed. It looks nice I admit, but it feels cheap and weighs nothing when you pick it up. It probably cost less than a quid to manufacture somewhere in the far east, and we are being ripped off to the tune of £18 - for a cardboard box in a fancy costume. Unfortunately, I bought mine before I knew all this, but if I could turn back the clock I would find an alternative.

If the idea of removing the unit from the car is to deter theft then carrying it with TomTom Xl branded on the case is just saying "Oh look I am carrying a Satnav please mug me"
A plain case is enough to protect it.

Yep, a very nice case will an `expensive` feel to it, the Tom Tom fits perfectly into it and keeps it looking like new, if you`ve got an XL, you need one of these.

Once you make the mistake of buying a Tom Tom without a case and then damaging it you'll wonder why you should have protected it for so little -like I did ! A very lightweight case ,moulded to fit precisely could have avoided this but now I've learnt.
