Getting my MBox and Pro Tools really has made making music so much easier, and allowed me to spend far more time focusing on my music than any other system I've tried.
You get everything you need in the box, all the hardware as well as the Pro Tools software and loads of other stuff in the 'ignition pack' to get you making music right away. Pro Tools is amazingly easy to use, right from the moment you boot it for the first time. All the sounds it comes with are great (Xpand is ace!), and the software can do so much more than I've ever experienced with any other programme. The actual mbox interface has everything I need, with 2 great sounding mic pres along with DI inputs for my guitar. It's got midi in and out so I can plug my old synths in (not that I'll be using them much any more!).

The bit I can't believe is that I got it all for 300 quid! Everything else I've ever used the software alone has cost more than that, let alone getting a really cool interface and loads of extra software too! What a bargain!

Tiny, but great!.......2007-07-05

I've got a bigger Pro Tools system in my studio (002), but I needed something portable to take out with my laptop so I can edit on the move. Once again Digi came up with the goods in the form of this little monster!

As with any other Digidesign product it comes with the Pro Tools software (as well as a load of extra plug-ins and bits) and the audio interface - this is the smallest thing they've ever done. It's got 2 inputs (one mic, one line, so if I need to I can record a guitar and a singer on the move), stereo outputs and a headphone out (which is all I really use if for). It's solidly built so I can throw it in my laptop bag with no worry of damaging it. The most amazing thing is that I can be sitting in my studio recording a band on my 002 in the morning, editing it on the train with my laptop and Mbox Mini in the afternoon, then then in the evening mixing it in my mates Pro Tools HD studio.

This is perfect for any one starting out in any kind of recording/editing/mixing - Pro Tools is used in pretty much every pro studio and you can use it for just over £200, how cool is that!?
