Works fine.......2007-11-11
Easy to install, drivers installed in a matter of seconds. After a reboot the card was detected and the installation complete. The usb 2.0 ports work perfectly. No problems at all. Great little card.
Works fine but.............2007-10-10
Got the item, cheap price good value. No problems with windows as drivers installed automatically but to actually get the item into the PCI slot was quite an issue! I needed to use a nail file to make the gap slightly bigger on the connecter. crazy i know! i spent about 10mins trying to push the thing in and couldnt figure out why it wouldn't fit and then noticed that gap was what the PCI card was rocking on, so i made it a little bigger on the pci card and hey-presto!
Product Description
The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is a Hi-Speed Universal Serial Bus 2.0 4-port hub with backward compatibility to USB 1.0 and 1.1.It provides an out of the box industry standard that allows connection of up to four USB peripherals or devices to your USB ready PC or Mac. The D-Link DUB-H4 is targeted at PC and Mac users that are expanding the number of USB ports on their system. The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is designed to provide quick and easy access to the four type "A" downstream ports for connecting USB peripherals, devices or other USB hubs. A single type "B" upstream port connects the DUB-H4 to the host computer, or another USB hub enabling up to 127 devices to be connected by cascading multiple hubs. Configured directly by the operating system, the D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 operates seamlessly with both Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh Operating Systems. As a standard USB hub, the D-Link DUB-H4 buffers USB data from any attached peripheral in compliance with USB specifications to provide an invisible extension of the USB bus. Supporting both low speed (1.5 Mbps and 12Mbps) and Hi-speed (480 Mbps) devices, each port creates a bridge between the peripheral and host computer.Diagnostic LED's located on the top of the device provide power state (self-power) and port status on each port. The DUB-H4 2.0 is packaged with all necessary documentation, a 6-foot hi-speed USB 2.0 'A' to 'B' cable and an AC power supply to ensure that the user is able to easily and quickly install and use the device.

Perfection.......2008-01-07
I've had this D-Link hub for some months now and am unable to fault it. If you are looking for a reliable USB Hub this is the one to buy!
Well made, works perfectly for Mac computers and Windows............2008-01-07
This USB hub comes with an external power supply so you can use it with your Ipod and mobile phone which all need a power source when connected. Non-powered Hubs would not be able to work with these. It works fine with my Mac on OSX and i'm sure it's fine with Window's P.C.'s as well.
Failure to connect.......2007-12-03
Although this looked a nice bit of kit it wouldnt make a permanent connection and kept requiring that I reload it.It would flick in and out of connection.Possibly a fault in manufacture
Does the job & looks good.......2007-09-10
Very nice piece of kit.I bought one to replace a cheap ugly thing that looked unnaceptably naff next to my new PC and also didn't work particularly well.OK so its a hub and its hard to get very excited but it seems well built with a bit more substance than some in this price range.Dead easy to set up,so far it has worked very well & its nice looking & compact enough to sit on my desk & look extremely businesslike.Personally I like the compact chunkiness of it plus its great value and it works. What more can you ask of it ?
Excellent for powering/joining long USB cable runs.......2007-08-23
I bought this hub for a slightly unusual reason. I needed to connect two long USB 2.0 cables (over 8 Metres in total) to go from my PC upstairs to a freeview recorder box downstairs. You definitely need additional power for this long a cable run so I decided to buy a powered ('active') USB hub to join the cables.
It has done the job really well. It comes with a PSU so I was up and running straight away. I've never had a dropped connection and performance seems very good. LED indicator lights show activity and status on each port.
It's very neat and compact for a hub - it doesn't take up much desk space and looks nice next to my aluminium PC case. It comes with a quite long USB 2.0 cable to connect it to the PC. It was recognised straight away by Windows XP and 2000 without any messing about.
It works fine in its more traditional role of connecting multiple USB devices to a single port on my PC. I don't bother using its separate PSU for this task and it works fine without it.
All in all, very happy. Even though it's perhaps relatively expensive for a 4 port USB 2.0 hub, I think it's worth it.

An excellent piece of equipment, neat and compact for stowage, no trailing leads and most important does the job well
Does what it says on the box.......2007-09-20
Neat, tidy, compact & does what it says on the box . . . allows you to plug 4 USB cables into one USB socket & then happily use the different items as you would if they were plugged directly into your PC / laptop. No extra power cable required.

Very cheap and works with Mac OS X!.......2008-01-10
My title says it all. I had it installed in my G4 PowerMac within a matter of minutes and it just worked. I didn't need to install any drivers. Simply a bargain!
Great but...........2007-12-06
got this yesterday and fitted it in almost straight away, it came as a 5 port (4 external + 1 internal)and i was checkin that all ports worked, got to the internal one and plugged my mouse in which has a draw of power of 21mA and it almost caught my board on fire, on the tracks had melted, my guess is a short circuit, but the external ones still work, i'm not bovered though as it was cheap and iv checked the other's
i would still buy it though
Can't fault it for the price, works fine on OS X.......2007-05-31
I bought the unbelievably cheap £1.69 one from ExpressPro, and was slightly slightly disappointed that it only had 4 external ports and no internal ports, rather than 4+1 or 5+1 as is shown in the item picture. However, that's really nitpicking when it costs so little. A PCI card is usually cheaper than a hub, and involves one less irritating external power supply.
The card I received had a VIA VT6202 chipset, and seems to be perfectly supported on OS X with no additional drivers, despite the fact that the 'Mac OS' option on the packaging was crossed out. I just plugged it in to my MDD G4, and everything worked, showing up in Apple System Profiler as expected.

Perfectly fine printer cable.......2007-09-09
Not a lot you can write about a printer cable. Belkin are the masters of covering their packaging with claims of gold contacts and superb transfer speeds, to be honest I haven't the time or the inclination to test these claims. All I can say is, I attached it to my computer, then to the printer and printed a test page, which came off fine and I've been using it ever since.
The build quality is nice too, a good cable all round.
