Solving of problem with 2 units connected.......2007-08-10

Referring to the post of grumpyoldman - was it Walter or Jack? - I have just had this problem with a similar 2 socket one.
It seems that when a scart splitter has no manual switches like this, it must be a scart to scart lead to enable auto-switching. Descriptions should always clarify this, and mostly don't.

I had my digital tuner box scart to scart, and the PS2 on a scart to RCA and S-video adapter. The sound on the tuner was disabled.

SOLUTION:
I finally had the brainstorm to switch the scart adapter in/out switch off when I use the tuner and sound worked! Switch back in for the PS2.

So it becomes like a splitter with manual switches. Though turning on the tuner makes it come up on the TV no matter what channel it was on, I think a manual splitter would also, if switched to tuner (just like in/out must be switched out).

Not good. Tried to connect a freeview recorder and a DVD to the one scart on tv. It certainly managed to 'split' the signal, only neither bits of kit worked properly - e.g. only picture on freeview box, no sound. Not recommended - make sure it's switched.
