Customer Reviews:
Quite good in an X2350 printer.......2006-12-11
Considering that it has to mix colours to produce black, and my pre-used Lexmark X2350 printer cost me all of [...], I think the print quality from these cartridges is rather good. My wife is very happy with it.
Also, the cartridges are so easy to refill - a cleaner job than refilling for my two Canon IP4000 printers.
Often, simplicity is a winner.
Cheap but that is all it has going for it........2006-10-25
I recently bought a Lexmark Z735 printer and thus bought this cartridge to use on it. I think the print quality is poor. the writing or pictures come out very light, even on photo setting. It is cheap but you get what you pay for.

Excellent value product.......2007-12-07
Bought this to transfer pictures to and from SD cards. The unit is a bit lightweight but does the job perfectly and comes with a good quality screened USB cable. Has a blue LED which goes purple while data is transferred which is a nice touch.
For the money how could you complain!
Reads it flashing and lightening quick.......2007-11-28
My old Tevion card reader could not read my new Sandisk Extreme III SD. That is when I knew the Tevion reader was incapable of handling new tech. After reading one of the reviews here I immediately purchased this card. I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
It reads my Extreme III cards (SD and CF)at the speed of lightening. My Kingston 50X SD also reads well. The card reader feels well built and comes supplied with a quality high speed cable. The card fit tight and secure.
If you are looking for a card reader, look no further.
An excellent choice for Linux and Windows XP users........2007-11-12
Linux users have a tough time with hardware as it can sometimes be a leap of faith with users not knowing if hardware will work until you plug it in. I have tested this card reader with a live CD version of Xubuntu and it works well without the need to install any additional drivers or software. I was able to copy files from my Win XP partition straight onto the Memory Stick(MS), Secure Digital(SD) and Compact Flash(CF) cards and I was also able to transfer files between each card.In order to test the system further I removed each card without unmounting it first (a bad idea). Xubuntu just unmounted the card automatically without crashing, excellent!.When I booted into Win XP the card reader worked just as well. Overall a good card reader and well worth the extra cash to avoid the hassle associated with cheaper products.
For Linux users.......2007-11-05
I took the risk in buying this item to use on my openSUSE 10.3 install of Linux. Firstly, though, it's a lot smaller than it looks from the picture and is easily portable with my laptop.
I plugged it in and tried out my SD Card from my PDA. After a second, a window popped up asking what I wanted to do with the device. I selected Open in a Folder. Everything was where it should have been. Next, I tried a MiniCD from my Mobile phone. The results were the same.
I would definitely recommend this device to anyone wanting mobility, ease and compatibility with all operating systems.

CREATIVE INSPIRE T7900 7.1
Customer Reviews:
Good but not great!.......2007-09-03
Creative Inspire T7900 is a decent balanced set from Creative®. I have been using this speaker set for over six months and what seems to me that the manufacturer has tried to produce a product as good as possible with its somewhat outdated and cheap technology. Their intention and outlook is quite sincere but due to price constraints, the outcome induces somewhat a mixed feeling. One thing is for sure that the speaker is not for the most serious of audio listeners. As the manufacturers understand their limitation and not try to exceed them with some flawed and ambitious tactics, the speaker sounds very much balanced- neither accentuating nor diminishing any particular frequency band. Nevertheless, as the speaker does not have enough clarity or punch it cannot generate the necessary feel and very often, the audio sounds weaker than average speakers.
Pros
A 7.1 speaker set and thereby supports all known audio formats.
Well balanced set. Almost even frequency response from 40 H 20,000Hz.
Good directional PC audio.
Good natural bass from the subwoofer.
Sounds perfect for modern day music, sci-fi action movies and games.
Respectable speaker design.
The headphone and auxiliary input jack on the volume controller do come handy in time.
No noise and no distortion even at high volume.
Lots of cable.
Cheap for a 7.1 speaker set.
Cons
Often sounds muffled with a bit older weaker recordings.
Loses quite a lot of details during sound reproduction. You would never understand it if you play only sources that have quite an even frequency distribution or is full of sharp percussive instruments. However, if you play something that has high frequencies in actual mid frequency band (that is lack of true high frequency sound, above 12 kHz, may be because of older recording, low bit-rate mp3 or because of the nature of the song), the output is something disgusting.
Poor sound imaging. Sound imaging indicates the size and location of the source as exhibited by the output audio. In spite of developers effort to give the sound a bigger fuller effect, it is quite easy to ascertain that the satellites are small and produces only high frequencies.
Poor midrange performance, as stated earlier. Sounds awful with audio dependant on mid frequencies below 12 kHz.
The satellites are weak. Therefore, the speaker turns out to be something tiny sounding when there is not lot of bass and treble too make the sound feel bright.
The speaker has too high threshold value for the higher frequencies. One positive outcome is no noise but sometimes it also skips high frequencies and the audio sounds muffled.
The speaker looses clarity with softer and weaker sound. So you cannot hear the low voice and faded background music from DVDs.
With too many musical instruments, the audio sounds overloaded and stressed.
The volume controller is very difficult to stably place. A remote controller would be preferable or the controller and the jacks could be front mounted to the center speaker or the sub.
Bare-end copper wire for satellites gets a bit rusty in time.
The speaker is cheap and its sound quality does not exceed its price.
Suggestion
Casual computer users looking for a good cheap all-format supporting speaker should buy this stuff. Those who love music from different ages and critical about the sound quality should look for a better set, may be from Altec or Logitech. I am one of them and therefore I have sold it out to one of my friends!
A few problems and solution:
The 7.1 cable supplied works only with Creatives Soundcard: to solve this, connect the stereo cables with your built-in soundcard as directed. Then all the satellites will sound apart from the side speakers. Notice that there are 4 stereo jacks on the subwoofer rear side. So buy a single stereo cable and connect it with your soundcard and directly to the rear of the sub replacing the side satellite jack.
Too short cables for the satellite: Buy some RCA MF extension cable from creative website at $10 (not available everywhere)!
7 reasons to get wrong.......2007-07-24
I have had this sytem for 14 days, and I can't recommend it to anybody.
I had made my mind to buy a 5.1 system, but my room's configuration required some large wiring to locate correctly the left rear speaker; the cables in the Creative T6100 and the Logitech X540, were too short for me, but getting an extension was easy. Then, I saw the Creative T7900, read that the cables were long enough, and that silly little detail made me choose the 7.1 system. Error #1.
I spent 90 good minutes setting the system, hiding the cables in corners, under the carpet, etc.... But the sound was not good: it was not surround sound at all!
I spent them longer time, moving the speakers at freedom, giving a damn then about seeing the cables all over the room or not... The problem is that, to get really surrounding sound, I should get some speaker stands to setup the rear and side speakers to some height, and then put them in a perfect circle around me... and, if possible, really close.
This is the error #2: my room was not adequate. But, I cannot imagine which room could fit. Mine is rectangular, quite small, I have complete freedom to locate the speakers...
And also the error #3: if you get this system, please buy as well some speaker stands for the rear speakers. And error #4, as the side speakers require as well hight positions.
And error #5: price is not anymore fine. Speakers plus two sets of stands makes the system not cheap anymore...
Well, before ordering the stands, I used some boxes as stands. I could hardly move, but I was surrounded by speakers... I guess that receiving noise from several locations around you could pass for surround sound, no? Perhaps I was already too sensible, but music didn't sound specially great. And that keeping low level,s trying to get it loud was another mistake: error #6.
Error #7 was playing with the bass control... better let it alone, in some low to very low level...
On the 14th day, I discovered that I could return the system in 14 days... so I spent another 90 minutes to disconnect the speakers, pack them again and carry the heavy box to the shop.
I have now decided to buy the Logitech Z-5500. That is much more expensive, but perhaps it will worth the money. I am not sure if the cheaper Logitech systems will fare as bad as these Creative ones, but all I can say: if your budget does not buy a good Logitech/Creative system, perhaps the T6100 or Logitech X540 are good alternatives, but the additional speakers on the T7900 count only as additional errors.
Great!.......2007-04-28
Had these speakers for about a year now, so I can give a reasonably unbiased review :D
I have a Audigy 2 ZS sound card (Works best out of the creative cards on linux, Incidentally the ALSA drivers for this card are great, sound better to me than the windows ones) and setting this sound system up was very easy, but as others have said it's not so easy without a Creative sound card.
The Speaker quality is really good, I listen to a wide range of music and play games and it all works very well. The subwoofer is quite powerful, I usually turn it down a little from normal to stop the bass being too loud in my small room... There's plenty of power in the speakers. As others have said, the Sub, Front, and Center speakers are defiantly the best, the rear/side speakers are'nt as good but the overall effect is good.
The wired remote is'nt too great, considering getting the wireless remote add-on. It has the volume control, bass level, headphone socket, and aux input, but It's not exactly stylish and has strangely thick wires running between it and the sub/amp.
These speakers are pretty cheap for the quality you get, but you really need a good and preferably creative sound card to get the best out of them - little vendor lock-in there.
Quite a good 7.1 set-up but don't expect it to work out of the box with on-board PC sound.......2007-01-16
This is quite a good value and good looking 7.1 set, and the sound is more than adequate for games and listening to music (far better than a Ghetto Blaster). It goes loud too without distortion. The wired remote is fine for my son and I, as it sits happily on the desktop and controls overall volume and subwoofer bass volume via two rotary knobs (including power on/off) - much easier than using windows/games menus or crawling under the desk to reach the subwoofer. The wired remote also has analogue line-in, great for MP3 players, and a headphone socket (via standard miniature stereo jacks) - you can't tell which is which easily though. The headphone socket cuts out the sound to the speakers when used.
We have managed to place all 7 speakers around my sons bunk bed/under desk unit, even hiding all the cables. I can't imagine fitting this 7.1 speaker set into our sitting room though, as I just couldn't live with all the trailing black speaker leads. See Creative.com's website for the speaker sizes. Other than that the only downside - and it's a biggy - is that the four standard RCA mini-jack lines into the subwoofer unit combine to just three for the PC's motherboard/soundcard sockets (colour-labelled 1, 2, & 3 to match a PCI Creative X-Fi sound card). This means that the supplied cable simply won't work with most on-board PC sound that have the standard 4 output jacks for the respective speakers position. I wish Creative could have included a converter cable to split the jacks input correctly as it is hardly an unforeseen problem. I have had to buy a few stereo jack leads to bypass the supplied one, which has now got all the speakers working. Our motherboard integrated sound is 7.1 but you can switch the woofer/control unit to upmix from 5.1 and 6.1 sound cards - but I don't how succesful it is (even 7.1 sound can be hit and miss with a stereo signal as the source, particularly with an on-board sound chip and driver). If the 7.1 upmix and EAX sound has problems, don't automatically blame the speakers - in our case it has always seemed to be poorly written soundcard drivers.
Our PC's motherboard SoundMax 7.1 sound chip, drivers and output sockets weren't really up to running these speakers properly (software & games rarely recognised the 7.1 setup and mostly we just got the front stereo/centre and subwoofer actually playing. So we have now bought a Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Music PCI card from an Amazon reseller to get these T7900 speakers working correctly to their full potential. This card cost almost as much as the speaker set, but we think it was worth it to get proper CMSS surround sound and a better sound quality, e.g. when using the excellent XFi crystalizer chip to enhance DVDs & MP3s (plus there's the X-Fi card's optional extra's like a real wireless remote, in/out expansion box and home theatre connections). We have had the speakers for a year now and the speakers/volume control are still looking/working as new. So by all means give this excellent set of Creative 7.1 speakers a go, but be aware that you may run into some problems if you aren't using an X-Fi Creative sound card and it's latest drivers.
Superb surround system, shame about the remote..........2006-07-28
Love this sound system, packs a real punch with its base, and it's far better than having OEM speakers that I am used to. I like the metal stands but it would be nice to have the rest of the setup designed a bit better, the sound make up for that though. I think the main flaw of them though is the plasticy wired remote, I would have prefered to pay the extra £10/£20 it would have cost them to include wireless, or have saved some and included it on the sub-woofer, apart from that fantastic. If your looking for a nice sound system without going for one of the higher ranges I would recomend this one.

Sucks in the light!.......2007-09-17
This lens is great, as you'd expect. It has such a wide aperture, it can take really good pictures indoors with no flash. If you want to take advantage of the short depth of field, make sure to focus on the subject you want; it can be so short (if you want) that even nearby items are out of focus.
I use it with a half-frame image sensor DSLR so the effective focal length is more. Sometimes you have to stand quite far away from a person to take a portrait.
The lens allows manual focus at the same time as automatic focus, but I find that the focus ring is a little loose. (these may be related). People tell me that doesn't matter, but I wish it was tight.
Lovely lens!.......2007-07-21
This lens is great for low light conditions. The focus is sharp and the background blur dreamy & creamy when wide open. Brilliant results with my 5d.
Sharp with great colours.......2007-06-18
I've had mine for 8 years and it delivers sharp pictures with great colours every time. If I could only own one lens, this would be it.
Far better than the 50mm f1.8.......2006-04-03
I've tried all of Canon's 50mm lenses from the cheap, plasticky f1.8 to the hyper-expensive f1.0. This is the best compromise and allows decent shutter speeds in low light without flash. It ia sharp all the way to the edges (upto A3 at least) and doesn't seem to be affected by flare even without a lens shade. If all you have used is the zoom that came with the camera kit, I suggest you try this and see what a difference a decent prime (single focal length) lens makes. At nearly £300, however, it is quite an investment, but worth it.

Customer Reviews:
money well spent!!.......2007-10-27
after having experienced DAB radio at the cheaper end of the market, i decided to splash out on a PURE evoke-1XT, and was completely bowled over by the quality of it. But it was only in mono..should i spend another £30 pound to transform what was an already good mono radio into stereo sound via an additional speaker? the answer was instantaneous! with the generous length of flex on the speaker, you can create a wonderful surrounding sound in the room you are in. the sound is rich without too much bass. the bottom line is, it's money well spent to make what is already a cracking stand alone radio, into something really special.
It may appear expensive but LISTEN to the result.......2007-02-25
It may seem an extravagance to spent a further thirty pounds on what Pure should have included in the first place an extra speaker to provide a stereo broadcast but they can be forgiven because what a transformation to an already brilliant performer.
If you think the sound in mono is full of detail just connect this extra speaker the end result will trully shock you. When you hear a stereo broadcast for the first time you can be forgiven to believe you are listening to a cd playing from your HIFi,the sound really is that good.
Slightly too much bass for my likeing but whilst listening to a concert on Classic Fm recently you could hear people couhing in the background, you almost felt you were there in the auditorium with them.
The build quality of this small matching speaker in either Maple,Cherry or the luxurious Steinway piano gloss black justifies the thirty pounds spent. You donot feel cheated having spent the extra cash.
Other more expensive models already have the second speaker as standard but having a separate speaker with nearly nine feet of cable to position it will enable you to taylor the stereo sound to your likeing.
Repositioning this speaker closer or further away from the radio depending on the broadcast has surprising results on the already magnificent sound.
The only thing i would have liked included on any Pure Digital Radio is a separate Bass and Trebble knob so that you can adjust the sound to your likeing.Personally i donot like too much bass but other people do so it is personal taste.
All i can say having owned a Pure Digital Radio only for two weeks, the sound is amazing for such a small unit, the build quality could easily justifie a higher price tag than advertised.
My fairly new Panasonic non digital radio only purchased last year willnot seem the same now that i have experienced DAB,i will never look back.It is akin to watching Digital Television for the first time having been used to anologue, you will never go back to the old technology.
If then you have one of the several mono Pure Digital radios ensure you invest in this add on speaker the difference in depth and clarity of sound wiil really impress you.
Here's another take on this speaker.......2006-03-16
I am not a hi-fi purist. I have a Sonus ST1 alarm radio which sits my side of the bed and the alarm comes on quietly so not to disturb sleepers in other rooms but it's too quiet for my wife to enjoy the sound. This speaker gives us both the enjoyment of DAB without having to have the radio blaring out. It has to be said that the stereo sound and separation is excellent for both of us to hear. Like another reviewer said, the XT1 speaker works perfectly well on this radio. This speaker, which is heavy and feels well built, changes the radio from ordinary to great - I'm really pleased I purchased it.
Worthwhile upgrade.......2006-02-05
One of the drawbacks of the pure evoke 1 and tempus 1 radios is that they are mono only out of the box. The evoke 2 is stereo but costs a lot more. However pure sell this additional speaker that turns your pure radio into a stereo device.
Its a worthwhile upgrade, the sound is far less compressed and there's a lot more space in stereo. At low to moderate volumes the sound quality is very good, with a suprising amount of bass and clear speech. The sound can sometimes be a bit forward for anyone used to the SOFT sound of an FM tuner, and on some stations its a bit bubbly (the top end sounds like the singer is underwater) but thats the fault of the broadcasting of some stations not this unit.
Like other reviewers I would say that the sound is good, but not as clean as through a hifi. But then my hifi speakers are about 6 times as big as these so what do you expect! Don't put them more than 1 metre apart or there will be a hole in the middle effect.
If you haven't got the space for a hifi or its used as a kitchen or bedroom radio its well worth the £30 extra cost.
But if its in somewhere near a hifi, you'll be amazed at the quality of the siginal through the hifi speakers and might not need the extra upgrade. I actually found the hifi quality was superior to apples itunes ran through the PC.
Mine also matches perfectly and looks like a quality product with its real wood cherry finish.
Finally I'm not sure what the difference between XT-1 and ST-1 are. I'm using a tempus and it works fine with the XT-1 speaker which was the only one in stock at the time.
Add on that really delivers.......2005-08-11
Okay, for those of you who don't know how these Pure auxiliary speakers work, this is what they're about. The Evoke 1XT and Sonus 1XT (the latter of which is the clock radio version, which I proudly own) are very good sounding radios but they don't provide stereo, just sat there on the table top, except via their output sockets (line out, optical out and headphones). Wouldn't it be nice if you could make it into a stereo radio? Well this is the very thing.
When you buy the 1XT speaker, you plug it into a special socket in the back of the radio which then resets itself to be the speaker for the right channel. The 1XT auxiliary speaker becomes the left channel. You get a really generous length of cable (I estimate mine to be 3m) so you can make a separation big enough to fill any room. The speaker is properly bass ported and produces the same resonant sound of the mother unit. It also has the new rounded look to match the XT units. Pure warn you that the exact colour of the veneer may not match precisely, but if you are separating the units by more than a few feet, then who is going to know? Mine happen to match quite well. Pure also make a cherry version to match the cherry 1XT sets, and I think the same goes for any particular finish they produce.
Anyone wondering whether the extra thirty quid will be worth it should take note: The transformation is remarkable. A radio that already has a warm balanced sound becomes a room filling piece of hi-fi. I already owned an original Evoke -1 and ST-1 speaker combo for day-to-day use and was aware of what an amazing product I owned. Note this... if you have bought an earlier DAB Radio, the first generation Pure Evoke-1 or Temppus-1 you need the ST-1 Speaker. This speaker I'm reviewing here is for the second generation XT radios.
Two caveats:
Be warned that some stations on the DAB dial only broadcast in mono, most notably BBC7 and Kerrang, so they don't benefit to any degree.
The other thing is that you don't get a "clean" stereo image from the radio-and-aux-speaker combination. It is like a "wide angle" stereo image projected by a good quality ghetto blaster. Although this can fill a room, and is good for all-day casual listening, the hi-fi purist would be better to hook their mother unit up to their main hi-fi unit via the optical or line-out jacks on the back of the radio itself.
Now the Sonus 1XT-1XT combo surrounds my bed providing the best wake up I could wish for.

100% Satisfaction.......2007-09-07
First off let me say that despite using the cheapeast postal service the product arrived literally within 1 or 2 days of me ordering it which was great.
Now onto the product itself... Well my first impressions when I got the box and opened it up was WOW. Its very smart looking and the sub is actually quite huge lol. The control box is a nice addition and to put the system together and get it up and running took all of 5-10 minutes.
This sound system has amazing sound quality and controlability as you have the option of increasing or decreasing the bass, rear and center speakers simultaneously so whether your playing games, watching films or raving it listening to music you can easily adjust the sound to suite which ever best.
The bass on this baby is bo00ooming you dont even need to put it on full setting and it still sounds better than the philips ms/whatever model number speakers that i got from amazon :D
I know wire length can be an issue, well for me not so much as i have a small room but either way these come with 3x 3meter and 2x 2meter so its quite sufficient enough in my opinion. Obviously i have a major spageti junction behind my pc/skybox/sound/xbox&hdtv but hell its worth it.
So overall for the price your paying your getting a top quality brand product that looks the business and is the business, I cannot stress enough how great these speakers are you really have to see for yourself.. Thats why im singing its praises in this rather long review as it being the first.
So if that doesn't float your boat I dont know what will
10/10
Enjoy!

At the start I was very pleased with the 2 days it took from ordering to recieving the item but when I put in my region 1 dvd,to my surprise it did not work, I also noticed that on the box it does not say anywhere that the dvd player is multi regional. I phoned Phillips and they said they don't make multi region dvd players and that they are aware that they are being sold "misleadingly" on Amazon. So I was very dissapointed and felt quite cheated to be honest!! I was ready to send it back until I read lots of comments about someone posting a hack, so i gave it a go and it did work, and I can now play region 1 dvds, I am still dissapointed tho that it is decribed as "multi region" when it actually isn't. After paying my money and waiting in for it to be delivered i was expecting it to be exactly what it said it was. Still its worth it for the money & im keeping it thanks to that code. Thanks.
Great DVD Player.......2008-01-16
Thank you KALPESH!!!!!! I bought this DVD player because I needed something other than my laptops to play my British and American DVDs. It works great once you change the region using what KALPESH put in his review.
When you get to the preferences, I was a bit confused as to typing in the code, but just type it in and the multi-region menu all of a sudden appears once the code is in. Then change it to '0'.
:) :)
