Customer Reviews:
An excellent replacement for you stock stereo!.......2007-12-02
I got one of these on fleabay for a tad over £90 and it is dead easy to fit, even a Halfords muppet can do it. We replaced the Peugeot 106 stock unit, absolutely cra*!, (but suprisingly good sound quality) , with this unit only needing a ISO loom connector from autoleads. The microphone is just behind the panel so you dont have to run a microphone behind the dash and the headlining.
Bluetooth: - When first fired up, it is easy to pair to a bluetooth phone. We have an array of Nokias in the family and the wife's one is a 6111. This paired instantly and up and running in no time. It appears in the paired device as 'xplod' and off you go. It will pair up to more than one phone, and it will do it instantly as soon as you turn the stereo on, good news there. The main issue is that if you finish using one phone , then get in the car with another phone , you have to connect the new phone , despite it all ready being paired. A slight annoyance, and very minor. The best feature by far is that the unit uses A2DP. This allows you to play music from your phone over bluetooth in CD quality stereo. Not all phones can do this , but some can with firmware updates. The quality in call (and ours is a diesel, so very noisy) is very impressive considering it isnt a noise cancelling microphone, or directed right at head height.
CD/MP3/WMA: - Havent done WMA tracks yet, but MP3 sound quality is awesome, for a budget unit, and it has various equalizer settings and also custom that lets you set bass/treble. I used a Steely Dan album (Gaucho) to test with and my mate said that "they couldn't have been stock speakers" in the little 106. No problems at all and Sony doing their usual greatness.
Display: - Can be very bright, especially on dark country roads at night, and difficult to see when the track ID is scrolling, this can be turned off though.
All in all a superb bit of kit. Only a pedant would give it 4 stars, but you have to look at the price.
My only gripes, and to be fair, they are only minor and I should have bought the vastly more expensive one BT5000 if this really mattered, is the lack of pre-outs for amplifiers etc, or IPOD input etc. It does have a 3.5mm jack AUX input , but frankly if they update this model it should be a USB job next time. This is only a budget stereo and the missus loves it.
I like it so much for the money , my Volvo 850 estate is due one at Christmas, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, and believe me I spent a lot of time looking for a good quality stereo that does everything.
Sounds fantastic, great connectivity, too bright!.......2007-11-07
I agree wholly with the other three reviews posted already.
This is a well made unit, easy to install sounds great, and the connectivity is tops!
However I do have one gripe with it, and it's that it's just too darn bright. There is a function to dim the display screen slightly but the rest of the unit still lights up like the Blackpool Illuminations. This obviously isn't much of a problem when driving during the day, or in urban/lit areas at night. But as soon as you start driving on unlit/rural roads at night you reaaly notice how bright it is. Put it this way, it's so bright that if you put your hand in front of it whilst driving at night in an unlit area there's so much light that it'll reflect off your hand and noticeably illuminate your dash-board.
There may be a simple solution to this issue and I've just not found it yet.
However apart from the brightness, excellent.
Sony BT 2500 pros and cons.......2007-09-21
I bought this unit and have installed it.
Please note this unit does not have an autochanger input. I realised this as I was installing it, having already opened it. Not a huge problem as these days I use an iPod.
The sound is excellent, I tried Genesis Live on it and you can hear the guitars clearly.
I compared the build quality to the Sony unit I replaced which served me well for many years, I wonder in the back of my mind if this unit will last that long, looks great but base unit a bit plastic for my liking.
That said for the price, its a great unit.
Brilliant.......2007-06-11
I got this after, installing a piece of an alpine( which is brilliant by the way)
After installing one, and picking up a leaf let from some dude that was giving them on my way out, of the shop, i suddenly saw something about the blue tooth, and wondered if i had just made a mistake.
I straight away to to Halford who did it free of charge and paid a little more for it.
Sound output , is brilliant, navigation is excellent, user friendly its exception(especially with the remote control). The i pod AUX is handy, (only problem it doesn't charge the i pod, but you cant have everything can you), The blue tooth is awesome.
Too many pluses compared to minuses, i would strongly recommend this, and with sony, you hardly get anything wrong
Its a ridiculously good toy to have in your car, and i cant wait to get to my car everyday.I got to give it 5
Very Impressive.......2007-05-13
This is a nice bit of kit. I sepcifically wanted it for the bluetooth hands free calling and for the iPod connection through the front Aux input and these both live up to what i expected. My main concern was for the hands free calling as i thought the fact the microphone is located within the front panel, and therefore quite some distance from the drivers mouth, would mean you would have to raise your voice somewhat to be heard clearly, but apparently this is not the case as all the people i have called so far say i come across loud and clear as i talk normally. I was also impressed at how quickly the stereo will connect with your phone once you get in the car and turn the ignition on (providing you leave bluetooth turned on on the phone of course). It is only let down by the amount of control you can have of the phone from the stereo itself - you can only answer calls and make a call to the last number redial, and there is no caller display, but it is not difficult to make the calls from the phone itself or pick the phone up to see who's calling, asl long as its not deep in your pocket, and for this price you can't really argue.
The iPod connectivity is straight forward and offer a whole lot beter sound quality and is certainly more reliabe that the FM transmitters i have previously used.
I have not really had chance to review the overall sound quaity of the stereo itself but it is certainly no worse than the factory fitted Clarion i had in before.
All in all a good purchase.

CAR MOUNT FOR MP3 IN
Customer Reviews:
Worth Every Penny.......2007-12-09
This fits to the windscreen or to any flat smooth surface, and has to be totally flat or will not create a vacuum and stick.
Having said that, once it is stuck it is sturdy and holds any size iPod, PDA, Mobile phone really well.
The sides work on a ratchet system and you press the button on the back to release them to their greatest width. Then you place in your iPod, push one of the sides closed and the other will close at the same time, until they are holding your iPod nice and firm. Solid as a rock, well designed and a must-have!
I bought a cheaper one, was disappointed and then thought "blow it" and forked out for this. I would buy one as a gift and I would definitely recommend it.
Excellent suction to windscreen.......2007-10-22
I tavel a lot off road and my iPod remains firmly in place on my windscreen. I previously bought a mount from the carphone warehouse which has now been binned.
What is great about his is ther are two replactable feet on the botton to hold the iPod inplace and you can also rotate it in the mounted position.
There is a push button relaes at the back to relaes the iPod and the fpam grips on the side hold my maano firmly on plase with no scratching

Good But noisy.......2007-07-30
Alot better than my old one, just extremely noisy, have to turn the music up just to get over the tape grinding!!!!!
Top product.......2007-07-22
Good price, good quality, straight in the car, worked perfectly. The sound quality isn't outstanding, but thats probably my car stereo more than the adapter, and its perfectly adequate. Does the job fantastically, I'd recommend it
Sounds like being underwater.......2007-07-21
I'm not sure how other people have rated this as usable! It sounds like being under water. Dreadful. Straight in the bin
The Best Available...........2007-07-04
If you want to play your MP3 throught the car stereo and you can't hard wire it then there are only two alternatives. Either using an FM transmitter or a car cassette adapter (if you still have a cassette player). Of the two, the sound quality of the latter is superior. This little baby is the best available out there. There is no noise from the mechanism (almost all the others are very noisy), the sound quality is excellent and the price is reasonable.
Best of Class.......2007-03-27
After using similar products before, I was very sceptical. However, after being failed miserably by the Belkin FM transmitter, I felt that I had nothing to lose.
It's brilliant. Does exactly what you want it to do, without any annoying issues like cassette noise, background hiss, poor sound quality or poor built quality.
You get near CD quality sound coming from your car speakers, obviously depending on the quality of your source in the first place. This is compared to the below radio quality sound with the FM transmitter.
My most low-tech purchase for a long time but the most satisfying to date after all that unexpected frustrations with the Belkin transmitter. If you need something to connect your portable music player to your car stereo, this is it.
One of the few times when the low-tech solution is the way forward.
Heave a big sigh of relieve and look no further.
PS
If it sounds like it's being "underwater", press on your tape reverse button and presto, you should get beautiful sound. It's just the way these adapter works and it applies to all brands/makes.

Low quality.......2007-12-14
The FM transmitter is easy to use but the quality has decreased over the first month that I have had it. It does not seem to charge my ipod and you can only use it when it is plugged into the car socket. Still what do you expect for less than £3?
Now on my second one.......2007-09-16
Just about to reorder, the first one lasted about 2 yrs, which is great for the price! Great sound, easy to work. One major draw back; My lighter dock is so low down on the car that I can't actually fit my Ipodmini into the dock so it lies next to the gear stick. Other than that I love this item and it's a perfect solution!
Not quite Happy, not quite Displeased.......2007-08-10
While the quality of the sound was great, and the fact that I can use with nano, ipod mini and shuffle is great. Specially for long road trips.
However the real drawback of it is for those cars that the lighter is not next to the gear stick but under the radio. The weight of the main holder, added to that of the ipod made it fall constantly. If you don't have the lighter socket in an horizontal place then don't buy this product.
Great whilst it lasted.......2007-08-01
I was really pleased with this, it worked brilliantly, didnt cut out and so so easy to set up, I was pleasantly surprised. However after four days use it fell apart and some of it got stuck in the cigarette lighter which I had to remove with tweezers! Maybe mine was a dud, but the quality didnt seem very good although it did work well whilst it lasted.
Easy to use.......2007-06-06
I thought for the price of the product it probably would just be ok but I am so surprised, it's fantastic. I managed to tune it in to the radio within 5 minutes, going to buy one for my husband's car now.

Design flaws let it down.......2008-01-16
While the set up is simple and sound quality acceptable (although certainly NOT fm quality), the poor connection to the ipod falls out regularly, due to normal motion vibration, resulting in loss of signal and the requirement to reinstall. Could have been good, but instead is frustratingly annoying.
OK but design needs to be better.......2008-01-13
Whilst the signal strength is quite reasonable and the ability to charge with the included cigarette lighter adapter is useful in my Ipod Classic the connection is not very good meaning after a time it works loose and drops the signal.
It doesn't work in,,,.......2007-12-11
Bought this product after all the hype. But when I tried it in my car it didn't fit, and the cigarette lighter socket did not fit the appliance! So, I can conclude, that this product does not work in the new Nissan Micra. The Griffin ITrip however is brilliant.
Doesn't work with the iPod Classic either.......2007-11-27
which is more apple's fault than Belkin's. Works fine on my old 2nd gen Nano, but you'll need to buy a universal transmitter (with the 3.5mm jack plug on, rather than one like this with the iPod connector) if you've got the Touch, the Classic or the new Nano.
3rd generation Nano.......2007-11-27
This product dose not work with the new 3rd gen. Nano.
The tuning and memory buttons don't work. I tried it with a friend 2nd gen. Nano and it was fine, but not with the new type.

Big sounds, little price.......2007-08-29
This player is fantastic ! Very easy to use and lovely to look at, without being overly "flash". Having the front aux point for your iPod, means quick connection and all your favourite tunes at your finger tips, without having to keep loads of CDs in your car. Even with the volume on full blast, the sound is crystal clear, even if listening to the radio! Delivered straight to your door, and half the price of many large chain stores, this is a definate bargain.

Bargain Sound!.......2007-12-10
Well I actually bought these thinking that they would be ok for someone that wanted better sound than original on a bargain and wow did I get just that!
These speakers were an absolute doddle to fit with all screws, attachments, etc were included which was a bonus.
After fitting I thought I would test them out and they are really good. I think if you wired these upto an amp the sound would be even better too!
I was going to get the 3-way Sont ones but had read that having so many 'Ways' in such a small speaker would destoy the sound somewhat.
I would definately recommend these to anyone on a budget!

A good charging kit.......2007-09-07
This works fine. I've had no problems. The wall plug is relatively small and light. When my ipod battery was low I plugged this in and I was instantly able to use the ipod again - but plugged in. It charges up quite quickly and is more convenient than plugging into the Mac every time. Maybe the extention cord could be longer but it is after all a lightweight and cheap product. Good value.
a basic 3 in 1 that does the job.......2007-07-18
a basic 3 in 1 charger for your ipod.
cheap, simple, easy, value for money.
although the p&p was £4 when i bought it !
i leave the cig light adapter in the car, and the wire in my pocket / bag at all times.
have never had any problems in the car, or connecting to a pc. excellent stuff. not too good charing at the wall, sometimes takes a while to start charging which can be frustrating when your in a hurry.
the price, compared to the official ipod chargers, it is very very competitive.
the quality - well, for a person that likes his/her ipod on the move, it is lightweight, and durable. (I am extremely clumsy and it has survived my mits!)
i would recommend to all and sundry
why not 5 stars? because of the slight issues with the wall, but i do fine with the car / pc option
Blew up when plugged in!!.......2007-07-03
1st use and it blew up with flash and a bang and tripped house power!! Poor quality product with cheep and nasty plastics etc. Stay well clear, and that comes from a Firefighter and qualified Electrician!!!
