Good on the mid-range.......2006-12-24

I bought this to use with my iPod Nano. The speakers have a built in amplifier and you need two AA sized batteries to power that. There's an on/off switch on the side of the main speaker with an LED to tell you when it's on. I would advise checking that because the speakers I received came with the switch in the "On" position.

They're good on the mid-range (i.e. the range where speech is) but, unless you have the volume turned up, the bass and treble are weak (leading to the instruments sounding weak). However, if you have the volume turned up sound reproduction is good.

To summarise: if you want speakers for a party volume music then this is worth considering but I would think carefully if you like your music at a sensible level.
