3 skins, only one screen protector?.......2007-07-14

I'm a bit bemused. You buy a pack of three skins to protect your ipod, maybe because you like to have a different colour every day, or maybe because you've got more than one ipod, or you were planning to give one of the skins to a friend. Well, if you were planning to give a skin away, you can forget it, as despite this shipping with 3 skins, there is only one plastic screen protector, which is bizarre, given its usually the plastic screen protector that gets scuffed to high heaven the most and therefore needs replacing. I harbour concerns about how well it will stay in place held by the rubber skin too, the overlap is minimal and at the top of the screen, it is loose. I can see the screen easily falling out in your bag and your ipod screen getting scratched - defeating the whole purpose. On the plus side, it seems better than the speck covers inasmuch as the bottom charging port is accessible, so if you want to use a FM radio adaptor or charge the ipod, you don't need to take it out of its skin. This would have been a 4 or 5* product if the manufacturers were just a little less MEAN and had included THREE screen protectors, not just ONE. How much more would that have cost them for the 2 inch by 1.5 inch bit of clear plastic - 3 pence? What is the point of that sort of economy other than to disappoint your customer?

Misleading pics on the box.......2007-09-15

I bought this item for a sony ericsson W800i phone. When it arrived it took a while to work out which of the many docking accessories to use, as the sweet one, with foam arms shown holding my phone on the box was inaccurate - there was no way my phone would fit into that holder - which is annoying! I hate it when manufacturers do that! In the end, it was the most boring accessory that fit my phone. After a couple of attempts, and a bit of force, I got my phone into the boring holding device - after two attempts where the phone got confused and told me the sim was missing. The speakers aren't very powerful, but it's fine for desktop music. The one slightly worrying thing is that my phone gets rather hot after about half an hour. Surely this can't do it any good. The design is appealing however, and maybe for £18 that's all I can expect?
