Better than expected.......2008-01-19
This has arrived before the player itself, so I'm currently listening to it using my old Sandisk MP3 player. The build is good; it has a solid, quality feel, and for such a small package it sure packs a good sound! I can see it could well become a constant companion.

I've now had the Zen for 4 months and the Travelsound for 2 months. The Travelsound unit provides a charging station when connected to mains or PC or both and a USB docking point when connected to PC. The Zen V and V plus integrate into the front beautifully. The unit is beautifully finished and looks and sounds great with good bass. It even includes a fold out telescopic arial for the FM radio to complement the Plus models. Sound quality is very good if not hifi and at full volume, louder than you would usually need. It works from the included mains adapter or from 4 AA batteries. I use rechargeable NiMh which last for ages on a single charge. The mains adapter comes with an exchangeable UK style 3 pin and a mainland European style 2 pin plug. A wireless remote control is included which covers most playback functions of the unit, volume, mute, spatial sound on/off, pause/play, track select, function select, and forward/back, although with the size of the Zen V screen you have to be fairly close to read what you are selecting on some functions.
The only improvement I would suggest is that when plugged into the mains it charges the Zen but it doesn't charge the AA batteries. It would be nice if it did.
If you have a Zen V or V plus I would say that this is a must buy and is useful both around the home and when travelling. I am highly satisfied with my purchase.

Have had these speakers for some time now and I am very impressed with them. A point that others have mentioned is the fact that it charges the player when plugged in to the mains. It is also very portable and works just aswell with 6 AA batteries which is great if you want to listen to music in the bath but dont want something plugged into the wall. It also has a very sleek remote for it. I have taken it on holiday with me before and found it excellent. The sound that comes out of it is incredbile, if you have the volume tirned up on the player aswell as the speakers you will find it blasting out at high volume with some good bass in it too. One of the best things Ive ever bought.

After buying a Creative V which I have found also brilliant and really good value for the money.I had no choice but to buy the docking speakers to go with it.I cant say anything but good things about them,the quality of the sound, the length of time it runs on a singal charge,user friendly the whole package is brilliant.And on top of all that it looks good.Why you would buy an ipod when you can get a really great Creative package as this I dont understand.

I bought the docking speakers to use mainly when I go on holidays etc.as I thought the sound wouldn't be up to much for the price...how wrong could I have been? It is now in the kitchen being used daily.It works easily with Windows Media Player so you don't really need to install their software and the base charging is really useful.

Risky.......2007-12-23
I owned these for a couple of months to provide an alternative to my tinny laptop speakers, but found them to be totally unreliable. When turning the volume up *a little*, you run the risk of the speakers emitting a spluttering sound and then cutting out, for a good few hours, until they work again. This was unacceptable to the point of my disposing of them today.
Good enough sound when at quiet volumes, then, just don't expect anything much louder than your typical laptop speakers (which, in my case, therefore made them a redundant purchase).

These little spekers are brilliant and well worth it. They are fairly priced, not too cheap and not too expensive but they are seriously good quality. I tried out quite a few different makes, some costing almost double, and these Creative speakers came out tops! The clarity is exceptional, The bass is obviously minimal because they are very small speakers but if you want more base, you can buy an additional subwoofer, which is also very small, called the Creative P150, which i bought too It does make quite a difference but the speakers by themselves are perfect for general listening. I highly recommend them to anyone as they are definitely excellent value for money for a very good quality product.

About to return the second set of speakers in just over a month.
The sound is simply OK with little or bass which for the price is not acceptable.
But the main problem is the incredible screeching due to distortion, at low volumes, which in both cases caused the speakers to pack up.
Really disappointed as these were a replacement for an older Creative model with which I was delighted.

Having already owned the Creative TravelDock 900 which I unfortunately dropped in the bath and killed, this is another excellent product from Creative.
Ive had mine for three days and am currently testing the battery life which seems to be very good. Im using rechargeable batteries and so far they are holing up very well with hardly any loss of sound quality as the batteries get weaker.
Although the unit has a stereo wide effect, its not really needed as the sound is powerful enough without it.
If you are looking for some powerful portable speakers, you can't go far wrong with this stylish little set. There's even an auto shutoff mechanism which activates when you close the speakers up to save battery life if you forget to turn it off!
There's also a 5 volt DC in socket so you can plug it into the mains. I purchased a universal adaptor from a well known High Street retailer for a fiver when I bought the Traveldock 900.
Buy one now, you won't be dissappointed.
Overpriced - avoid - much better out there on the market.......2007-03-10
These speakers produce an OK sound for the size but are completely overpriced. There is no bass to speak of (not surprisingly) and they can not cope with "complicated" music e.g. lots of noisy guitars. When the volume is turned up towards the top it distorts terribly. Beware of these - yes they are good for the size but this does not disguise the price to quality issue. I bought them when they came out at £[...], but given what you can pick for £[...] these days they still do not deliver for the price. I have just found a Saitek A200 for £[...] - however it usually goes for about £[...], but even at the higher price you would be completely bowled over by the difference in quality, bass and volume capability, there is just no comparison.
