This nearly broke my Sandisk Express Mp3 player.......2008-01-02
I bought this to charge my Sandisk Sansa Express mp3 player. The first time I plugged them in the player went blank. After unplugging it would not turn on for an hour then the display went funny. I think it probably surged the mps player. I returned the next morning to find it working again, Thankfully, and purchased a combi car/mains usb charger instead.
I would not recommend this, it seems very hit and miss.

The first time i plugged this in, there was a flash, sparks and the fuses in the house all blew. After fixing the fuses, i looked at the charger, and it was black from burning. Fortunately the MP3 was ok. I was lucky that there wasn't a fire. Avoid this item - i have seen a very similar review, so there is clearly a recurring fault with the item, and i would never trust using another even if it worked the first time.

During my first attempt to use this adapter to charge my mp3 player, the adapter EXPLODED!! (I mean it!). My mp3 player was thrown one meter from the charging socket, I am lucky, my mp3 player still works. When I looked at the burnt rest of the adapter, I saw, how bad assembly was - contacts were not connected at all.
And, I can't demand refund! The trick of the seller is that he sells it only for one penny, but for packing I paid almost 5 pounds - so what I can claim - one penny?!

The adapter is incredibly light of which it's effective for using abroad, as it entitles a variety of USB powered devices to work, which therefore enabled the uses of charging any MP3 player as well as certain mobile phones such as the Motorola V3 Razor. Overall it's recommended for anyone that travels abroad possessing USB powered devices.

Excellent item and very good value for money.
Charges my Sony MP3. Also charges my Tom Tom One. Saved me from buying a Tom Tom charger for £19.99.
Can probably charge anything with a firewire port.
Prompt delivery as well.

This product works great can fault it ive got 2 mp4 players and used it on one it didnt work and then tried it with other mp4 player that one worked!
Then realised the 1st mp4 player doesnt wor for some reason - cant fault the product!!
Thought the item was a bargain until the PP came to £5.50 for just this item! thats a lot hence the 4 out of 5!
HOWEVER WOULD RECOMMEND IT ! ! !

Bought this to take on holiday to charge my Archos 404 up while away. Tried it before I went & worked well. But first time I tried to charge my Archos while away it failed the red charge light did not come on.
At this price you can't complain but I would suggest you order at least five then you might get a working one they seem to have a quality control problem. Don't know how this would work out on delivery.

Item works fine, just plug it in and away you go. I'm currently using this to charge my 80gb archos, since it's more feasible than paying for the £50 dock. However, for such a small item; amazon charges £4 for delivery and 50p for every kg the item weighs. Yesterday this item's advertised boxed weight was 2.8kg, today it says 2kg. Well my item has arrived and I would say it weighs less than 100g. Anyway...am travelling in a few days and needed a cheaper alternative usb charger.

I tried this because I didn't want to pay the price of an official charger but I wish I hadn't bothered. Plugged it in an left it to charge my iPod. After a few mins I could smell it burning, it fried my battery which meant I had to send it back to be replaced. My advice stick to Apple or Belkin products to charge your iPod
