I am I-Dragon, hear me roar!!.......2008-01-07
If im honest, the design of the I-Dragon rather than its function appealed to me. I've wanted something for my ipod for sometime so i didnt have to rely on listening to my music through the pc all the time.
Most systems ive looked at have been perfectly functional but visually arent appealing at all...until i saw the I-Dragon.
The I-Dragon is a perfect piece of hardware at a price thats affordable. When it arrived i was surprised how sturdy the system is. The speakers can be twisted and moved into whatever formation you like and the sound is perfectly acceptable if your using it in a bedroom or kitchen etc.
Another bonus thats not apparent from the pictures is an inbuilt storage place for the small remote control unit. The remote allows you to fully control your ipod if its one of the newer generation of Ipod. I've tried it also on my old early 15G Ipod (which i thought was dead!) and have had no problem whatsoever. The kit comes with cradles for lots of different types of Ipod, which ive found you dont really need to use. Another bonus is that comes with a small cable so if you have an Ipod shuffle that connects to a USB you can still just plug in a cable that connects to the headphone socket and voila! Music from the shuffle plays through the system!.
The only downside is that the I-Dragon loves to listen to other remote controllers apart from the one provided so if you leave your Ipod plugged in you can often find that pressing play on your dvd remote may also tell the I-Dragon to start playing your music!
I'd really recommend this little unit to anyone who wants to use their Ipod away from the pc or without headphones, Its not a proper portable system as you cant take it outside, and to be honest once you've got it out of the box you'll want to show it off and listen to it in various places round the house :)

Great value for money.......2007-12-31
This is the perfect sound dock for your iPod if you want something compact, sub £100, and yet able to fill a room with good quality sound.
I have my iPod docked to my Hi-Fi in the living room, and use the JBL for the kitchen. Inevitably when I first move through from the Hi-Fi to the JBL I am aware of the step down in quality - but that is inevitable. It is nonetheless remarkable how the JBL fills the kitchen - which is a good sized room - without straining. It has a full rich sound considering its small scale, and loads of power. It copes well with all kinds of music - even with the dynamic range of classical. It struggles a little with very heavy base on contemporary music - there can be moments of distortion at higher volumes (but in an acceptable range in my opinion).
I would recommend it.
One footnote: do take care to buy the right one for the UK - with UK plug fitted. I initially bought one in New York, where I had bought previous portable iPod speakers. Those had come with an adapter for the UK. The JBL didnt - so it was useless.
But my present one came from Amazon.co.uk and duly arrived with its UK plug.
Packs a punch!.......2007-10-29
Recently bought this, its small, easy to use and punps out the sounds. What more do you need to know? Perfect travel companion.
European Plug.......2007-08-08
I ordered this off Amazon & was very surprised to find that this speaker had a european 2 prong plug, rather than a 3 prong UK plug. Luckily I had a shaving adaptor plug & so I got it working, even though the fit is not very secure. Once working the sound is great & what I expected, however it has been dampened by the plug issue. It did not state anywhere that it would not have a UK plug. I do not even know if it does come with a UK plug so if anyone knows I would be interested in finding out.
Excellent piece of kit.......2007-07-23
I opted to buy this item because it seemed compact and well built; also, I had a demo in a shop and was impressed.
Well, I was not disappointed! The sound is fantastic for such a small item and carries through the whole house.
I have put all my CDs on to an iPod, have got rid of my stereo system, and now only use this. As a bonus, it keeps my iPod charged.
The quality is also fantastic and it is compact, lightweight and portable.
My only grumbles are that it is a pity it does not have inbuilt rechargable battery and also (as others have mentioned) the plug is very large. But no matter.
Great sound for the size.......2007-07-16
I have a 30GB iPod video and it compliments it well. It is a small unit however, it feels well made with a good weight making sure it will not topple over. The sound quality is very good, even the bass comes through which is suprising for such a small unit. It can take high volumes without distortion.
There are three inputs in the back of the unit, iPod USB connector, mini stero jack and power. It comes supplied with a mini jack connector (white) but no iPod lead or iPod blank.
The remote control is basic but because it uses RF rather than infra red it opperates from over 30ft away. The limitations in the remote control are due to the iPod rather than the JBL design. I have an apple dock as well and the apple remote will do the same.
One small issue, the power brick and lead are black, which is not a major problem but everything else is white so it seems like the finance department made that decision... My poer brick also has an an anoying hum after it has been plugged in for more than 10 minutes. This can be 'fixed' by whacking it but I may send it back to JBL under warranty if it becomes too intrusive.
Overall a great unit, well built, complementary design and well worth the price.

Dissapointed........2007-09-25
The information on this product is all wrong. It runs on 4 AA batteries, no mains or USB leads. Does not charge ipod! The only upside to this product is it has good sound.
Not as described - don't waste your money !!.......2007-08-17
They claim it will charge your ipod - it won't.
They say it is wired - which would suggest an AC adaptor - it doesn't have one - it runs on four AA batteries.
Don't waste your money - I contacted them to try and get my money back and they aren't interested.
Untrustworthy seller - gives other amazon sellers a bad name.
disatisfied.......2007-07-29
i am dissapointed with this product as it failed to charge, did not come with a USB lead, and neither did a protective case come along with it!!!
i feel i have been very let down as i though this was a trusted web site.
in future i will think twice before i use this site.

The Gold Standard.......2007-12-12
I've heard an awful lot of ipod speakers and i've bought quite a few!! These Jamos are miles better than anything else on the market. It's not fair to compare these to the ubiquitous Bose sounddock. This is in a different class. I'm by no means an 'audiophile' and I'm not going to bang on about soundstage, detail and all that malarkey. I'm just a music lover and this system sounds fabulous - comparable with my Onkyo player with KEF speakers. Do not hesitate to buy these speakers.
Superb.......2007-06-27
First off, I never write reviews, however I've had this little beauty for a month now and I'm loving every second of it and so I feel compelled to 'give a little back' by commenting on it. I'd been searching the usual websites; amazon, play etc looking for a good sound system to play my ipod out off and always get a bit uneasy as most of the main sound sytems get mixed reviews. The Jamo i300 seemed to get consistent reviews everywhere I looked and whilst it was a tad above my budget, I'm so glad I went for it. In short, it sounds amazing, is easy to set up and it looks lovely alongside my white ipod (you'll probably want to go for the black one if your ipod is black though). If I'm being picky, the remote whilst completely functional could have been shaped differently in order to tell the forward button from the back button, however it does come with a lasso for the remote which in my opinion is too long and looks a tad ugly hanging from the remote. I simply cut the string on it so that it only had the little end with the logo on it left. I now have a little tail on the remote which helps tell me which way up it is (this will make sense when you see the remote:). This is only a minor grumble though and really doesn't make any difference as the sound system itself really is amazing. Final point is that I wasn't able to place the ipod on the dock whilst it was still in it's case. To get around this there is little 35mm input on the back of the unit however attaching it this way means that the remote can't be used other than to turn up/down the volume. An alternative (which I have done) was to fork out another £20 for a dock extender (the only one I could see was the dock extender from sendstation) and this works a treat and looks like it is part of the jamo 1300 as it looks similar in style. To sum up, if your looking for excellent speakers for your ipod, with quality looks and sound I definitely recommend the Jamo i300.
EXCITING EXPECTATIONS - REALIZED!.......2007-02-11
This system coupled with the iPod could be compared with no other on the market - it is in a class of its own. Forget Apple Sound System and the over-priced Bose - this is the dog's b*****x! Cannot be faulted!
Quality system that really delivers.......2006-12-11
When considering an iPod speaker system i wanted something that delivered quality sound, charged my iPod and was easy to use. This Jamo system does all these things...and it looks good! I've found the sound to be of a really high quality and the remote control is a nice touch.
If you love your music and are looking in the £200 price bracket for an iPod speaker system this might be the thing for you.

SpeckTone Speaker - White -EU/UK Version
Product Description
Are you looking for a speaker system that's a bit different from the rest? Why not take a look at the iDS-02 Surround Sound System ? True to its name, the iDS-02 is almost a perfect sphere. It's 7.8 inches in diameter all around, except for the flattened base. But don't think that this system is all about looks. The iDS-02 delivers pulse-pounding music with 2-inch mid range speakers and a 3-inch dedicated sub-woofer. Due to its shape, the sound spread around the room, immersing you in bass-heavy audio. The iDS-02 was built with the iPod in mind, featuring the Apple Universal Dock connector. It even has a glossy white finish that matches perfectly to the classic white look of the iPod. Once you have the iPod in sync, you're free to move away from the system and do whatever you like. Why? Because the iDS-02 has a handy 10-button remote control. It can handle all your iPod's basic functions as well as the treble, bass and volume adjustments of the Speaker. For a speaker system with powerful sound and a unique look, choose the iDS-02 Surround Sound System .

Fantastic!.......2007-12-01
Getting this for half the price on amazon makes it a billion times better - this is a fantastic device. Yes, the 7.5 watts does sound quite small but the sound with the built in sub can fill a 3x4m room with ample sound! only drawback, when you have it to the max volume, bassy bits can be a little floppy, but the volume is loud! the remote control is simple, the looks are sexy, size of a football, plenty of different ipod attachments. i bought it as a present and again for myself!
AMAZING VALUE.......2007-05-13
Dont normally bother iwth these reviews but this product deserves one. I bought these speakers a few days ago for just [...], turned out to be the best £26 i have ever spent. The sound is superb and as is the ability to ajust bass and treble. Works really well with my ipod even at [...] i would still buy them, good enough for a house party and look pretty cool.
Brilliant.......2007-05-11
I bought this last week-had been watching the price --it stayed aroung £56 for several weeks but then fell to £26 --with the black one being £93--that helped me make up my mind and i bought it.They really are good-excellant volume-rich bass and wonderful remote control. It controls not only the speakers but can switch on and off the ipod and change tracks. This is a great set of speakers--also works with my creative mp3-but not with the same funtionality. OOps i now see it has gone up to over £80--what is going on--why these fluctuations -perhaps someone can explain. At £26 it was brilliant at £56--really good--but at over £80 i would really have to think twice.
Overall good........2007-03-05
After searching for ages to find the right ipod speakers for my blue 2nd generation ipod nano, I came across this speaker and bought it because it had every I wanted (apart from being portable). It is heavy than I expected and bigger. Also because it is spherical you cannot put it in a suitcase etc. But the box it comes in, does have a little plastic handle which would be useful for travelling short distances.
The sound is very good; I am especailly keen on the fact you can turn up or down the bass and the treble. It works fine with my nano although the plastic dock is rectangle instead of oval shaped by that doesn't effect it, apart from looks. Personally I found them hard to set up since I normally follow the instructions carefully but on these speakers the instructions were minimal. But I managed in the end so thats not something you should be put of by.
Overall I'm pleased with my speakers!

Customer Reviews:
Jaw droppingly disappointing........2007-10-31
Sometimes you read reviews written by other people about a product you own and wonder why they can think and feel so differently to you.
This item is one of those - I see loads of positive reviews for this system when I found it to be cheap, nasty and just not good enough.
From the moment I opened the packaging my heart sank - these speakers are very small (they are travel speakers after all) - make sure you have read the dimensions PROPERLY before you buy. You have been warned.
Now,it's akin to a law of physics that small speakers = bad sound so I wondered what magic had been performed by JBL on these little chaps. Unfortunately, no rabbits were pulled out of any hats. The volume is ridiculously poor; I bought these because the volume from my laptop wasn't good enough. Of course, I found that my laptop was LOUDER, BASSIER and LESS DISTORTED than these speakers (my laptop is a Vaio that is no great shakes in the sound department). This was on mains power of course; on battery, they were even worse!!
So I just sent them back - usual first-rate Amazon refund service.
Please think before you buy - not everything you read is true - these are a product to be bought in desperation when you have no other choice. You do have a choice - there are hundreds of other choices on Amazon alone.
And finally, be careful out there; it is unfortunate but true that some people can be pleased with VERY poor quality stuff. Their needs and expectations may be very different to yours.
I would have given a '0' here, if I could have done.
Great sound that takes up little space.......2007-10-25
I can't add too much to the other reviews except to say that I've had these speakers for two years and take them travelling with me.
On my travels, many people have commented on how good the sound is from them.
They are not amazingly loud - although my 5G ipod might be to blame here - but there is plenty of sound to fill a room.
As a bonus, you can run them off batteries, too.
I'll be looking to update my ipod but I won't be changing these speakers
Audio Excellence.......2007-04-07
The JBL Ontour arrived earlier than the time frame which I was really impressed with. As for the product itself I am really pleased with it. The exterior is extremely stylish and when you open the cover it is again aesthetically pleasing. As for the audio quality, its pretty amazing and the clarity is great.
I am listening to it as I am writing this review and for the price it is amazing. Amazon sell this product for a relitavely cheap price compared with other sellers such as dabs and richer sounds.
A couple of cons though, the design, the location of the input jack and power input are on the rear and its hard to plug these in due to this location. That design fault has taken the star rating down a notch for me but nevertheless a great sounding portable speaker system which I shall be making use of when chillin with my homies later in the summer :)
Good for laptop use too.......2006-12-31
As well as I-PODs it could be used for laptops too.
For me a 'sony PSP USB adaptor' worked (available from Amazon) and cut the
wire and reversed the polarity and then used 'heat-shrink sleeving'
etc.
The orange light flashes (since you are running on 5V instead of 6V
but it still worked completely fine for me anyway.
Very good audio, but has some design flaws.......2006-09-25
This system came in a surprisingly large box. My first impression was of a very well-built unit which is surprisingly solid and heavy for its size. The audio quality is very good, but the size and weight are more than I expected for a high-priced unit.
I rapidly discovered the drawbacks mentioned by others, such as the inability to switch off the unit without removing the cables (currently I have the mains power disconnected, but it is flashing the orange light to indicate low voltage, but since the audio is also disconnected it should have, based on the manufacturers claims, the intelligence to go to sleep). Then there is the sliding cover which is reluctant to stay in the fully open position. And another glitch is that the expternal power connector has the opposite polarity to most other equipment. OK, the supplied power adaptor is very lightweight, but the mobile traveller wants to be able to cut back on the number of power adaptors. Surprisingly, there is no USB power cable in the package to enable computer users to make use of the USB power source.
