This is thebest phone I've ever had.
Not only was cheap and reliable , the battery lasts all week , the sound is clear and is SO easy to use.
I have used other makes but the menu tends to be difficult and long winded.
Nokia produces the most user friendly phones in the market.
The bluetooth is a bonus and can also listend to FM radio with an adapter.
It has been 2 years since I got this model and I am not changing it.

I had previously used the Nokia 6230, but was converted to this step up model, 6230i, after I realised that it was actually cheaper than my original. And now, looking at it, I have no doubt in my mind that it beats Nokia's current and past phones.
So, what's the difference between this and the original firstly? Well, the screen has a better resolution - in other words, its slightly bigger (the only change in terms of the phone shape) and has alot, lot more detail - edges are smooth, text is crisp, and the colours are vivid. This leads onto the many other improvements which tie in, like better use of applications, if your a gaming person for example, you'll be delighted that 3-D games are available with excellent sprites.
The whole phone has generally had a make-over. Gone are the boring white backgrounds, in comes the 'Theme' section, where the default one is already good enough, with a blue swirly pattern. The icons are alot clearer, as is just about everything!
The camera is also a step-up, being a 1.3 megapixel compared to the 6230's VGA camera. This makes a huge difference, and with the better screen combined, you can actually take photo quality pictures for a reason - not just for when your bored! Its' particularly handy if you have a lover at heart, and what that non-grainy photo of them on your phone!
The only disappointment I do see, with regards to no update, is the video. I would have expected their to be a better quality video function, but sadly, the blocky-looking quality is present. On the phone itself it looks good, but upload it onto a computer, and it degrades.
I would also agree with other people by saying that the sound is alot better quality too, which is just as well their is a much cleaner/better looking music player present! It's ideal if your bored or want to socialise, and the quality is good enough, the the equalizer settings make absolutely no difference. mp3 and AAC files can be played, among a few other lower quality ones, which is why you'll need a memory card - a 32mb one is present, but I recommended a much bigger one! (MMC memory cards only again!)
For those who never owned the original 6230, and feel that the above hasn't persuaded them enough, this phone is just perfect. Unfortunately, Nokia have gone downhill over the past year 2 - possibly due to making 'gadgets' rather than phones, but this is likely to be one of the last phones they produced that doesn't feel like a mini computer. Its small, feels solid, has a good weight, and the buttons feel like they were just made for texting. Mind have remained pretty silent - ideal for texting at night!
Other people, both on Amazon reviews and in person, have said that they have had problems with the firmware (a fancy name for the phones software). Just to clear this up, you will only have these 'bugs' if your phone contains an old version of the firmware. You can view your phones version number by simply pressing *#0000#. I've got v3.80 which is believe is the latest, but problems apparently occur with 3.40 or below, so update it whenever you get a chance through the Nokia website.
I don't think their much else to say. This is a simply to use phone, its crisp, colourful, fun, and looks incredibly smart. It's amazing what a difference a little 'i' can make!

Brilliant phone only drawback is the battery life.......2007-05-23
Having got my hands on one of these little feature packed handsets I was immediately impressed by how small it is for what it is capable of.
I don't use the 3G part of the phone so I can't describe video call quality. Normal GSM calls come through loud and clear showing Nokia's pedigree in mobile phone quality, that said I wouldn't like to drop this handset as it is quite heavy and nothing like as solidly built as Nokia's lower end stuff. For me the deciding factor is it's WiFi capacity. This allows me to use the phone for the following things:
Direct downloading of Podcasts, RSS newsfeeds and email for later reading.
When within hotspot range I can listen to internet radio, use Instant messaging services and even with a service called Fring I can make SIP calls (a VOIP service that allows one to use their landline over the internet).
It has pretty much replaced my Palm as a personal organiser as the calendar and contacts databases are quite complete and fully SyncML compatible (that said it is incapable of importing a vcard file containing multiple contacts. For this I used the syncworld SyncML service).
The supplied software is fairly complete and the email client is capable of reading office attachments.
The audio player and supplied headphones are of very good quality, Almost as good as my SE W800 although I would have liked to see a 3.5in Headphone socket somewhere. The camera is ok but it has no autofocus and it takes too long to take the photo.
Having downloaded Nokia's podcast and internet radio utilities, Mobipocket and Fring, Nokia has in their N80 pretty much all that is desired for a complete personal computer; a decent camera, a very good media player and superb connectivity with WiFi.
Brilliant phone, but let down by two huge flaws........2007-05-08
My first impression of this phone blew me away. The features are outstanding and, as with all Nokia's, it is intuitive and easy to use. The 3 mega pixel camera is superb, as is the video recorder. The media player is very good, it's got wi-fi connectivity and a huge number of other features too long to list.
That is the plus points but sadly there are two downsides which have made me eventually wave goodbye to the N80. The first is the battery which is truly pathetic. This phone needs charging every single day and if you are a heavy user then I would advise keeping the charger near by so you could charge it up at work for example. It really is appalling and it is astonishing that it was not improved before being released. Surely Nokia must have tested it out?
The final nail in the N80s coffin is the dreadful slider mechanism. I am a fan of this type of phone but there is a huge problem with this one, there is no spring mechanism. This means that instead of "snapping" open and closed and feeling solid, it is a pathetic, weak feeling slider. Because opening the slider unlocks the phone you will find it doing random things without you wanting them to happen whilst it is in your pocket. For example, daily calls to the first person in your phone book, music or video playing from the media centre, video recorder being activated and recording the inside of your pocket! I bought a case to try and remedy this, and although it stopped the slider opening, it just made the phone too bulky to carry around in comfort.
It was with much reluctance and regret that I sold this phone but the downside of its flaws sadly outweighed any of the brilliant features it has.
People may disagree, but please, before you buy this phone have a look at it in a shop to see what I mean about the slider. I am sure it may make you think twice.
Not bad, not good.......2006-09-18
This isn't a terrible phone... It's a Nokia with familiar menus which is important. It means that in an emergency you can throw it at someone and tell them to call emergency services and using it will be intuitive. I didn't realise how important that was until I threw a P910i at a family member and added 2 minutes to a 999 call.
The signal on mine is quite poor. My 6681 has fewer signal drops in the same places, on the same network, and the signal problems on the N80 have caused me to miss several important calls.
On top of the problems with signal, the battery life is appalling. It goes from 3 bars to dead in the space of a few hours, and even when everything is going well, it only lasts around 2 days.
The slide interface is good, but it does tend to slide open even in my pocket from time to time. This unlocks the keypad and leads to 'pocket dialed' calls. These are never a good thing!

This phone is profiled to o2 and cannot be changed, which is useless to me because I find Orange's deals more suited to me, otherwise its a very nice phone!

My only complaint about this handset is the Battery life!
Your lucky to get 2 days out of normal use and if your a keen surfer expect 1 day before recharging.
Apart from that the phone is fantastic, WiFi access is great and I surf everyday at work for free on "Open Networks"
WEP Network setup is easy and my "Homenet" connection has transfer speeds of 452kbps.
I would also recommend the Krussel case as mine has hit the floor twice now and has come out unscathed. It does add bulk to the phone but its worth it.

Camera not a phone.......2007-11-30
I have had many Nokia Phones, this has to be the worst phone I have ever owned. I'm now at the end of my 18 month business contract and can't wait to put it on the fire! As one of the other reviews state, great for the first two months and then grinds to a halt when sending a text. I can literally have a shower before a text gets sent! Please do not buy this phone, unless you want good quality photo's. As the use for a phone, you will go nuts! I have two other Nokia's one of which I use as my main phone as this N80 is diabolical. It's like the difference between Windows and Mac or Guinness in England and Ireland. A simple basic Nokia phone is all you need, if you buy this phone, your only settling for a second best phone. Stay away from it!
Text nightmare.......2007-09-01
This N-80 is a great phone, or so I thought.
But after about six months the text-messaging sending capabilities slowed to a crawl, now it takes about 10 minutes to send even the simple st of texts. I've cleaned out all the queues, deleted all images, cut my log back to 24 hours and nothing has helped. If, as it grinds its way through sending a text, an incoming call should present itself the phone locks up and I have to pull the battery out. So now I consider it a liability.
Shame, it was okay for six months and everything else I like.
Bad Experience using Nokia N80.......2007-06-22
At least 212,500 to 250,000 units of Nokia N-series Returned for Repair
I bought a set of Nokia N80 phone on 7 November 2006. Within three months, I encountered technical problems such as the phone turning off automatically during the course of conversation. When I switched it on again, a message would appear that the SIM card registration failed.
The phone has been increasingly causing more problems. For example, I am unable to receive text messages timely (sometimes the lagtime could stretch to the next day), unable to hear my counterparty using handset (unless via loudspeaker or earpiece) and corruption of my memory card.
On 15 June 2007, Nokia service centre in Suntec City, Singapore retained my phone for repair and it was written on the acknowledgement form that the phone would be ready for collection on 18 June 2007 (12:00 p.m.). However, I was only informed that they had not commenced the repair when I was there to collect the phone.
On 19 June 2007, Nokia replaced a new motherboard. Within two hours, the phone automatically switched off. As I restarted it, the welcoming tone via loudspeaker was loud, irritating and weird. I forced a shut down and thereafter, it could not be restarted. A customer relation manager called to offer a so-called exceptional switch of transceiver, with an extension of two months from the end of the initial warranty. After a considerable thought, I decline the offer as I find it unacceptable. By the time the warranty lapse (in January 2008), this imperfect gadget might be useless.
I wish to express my deepest dissatisfaction of the quality of the phone and service I received. The unsatisfactory quality of the phone has resulted in my suffering massive loss of data in the corrupted memory card. In addition, it caused me great inconvenience (as I had to travel frequently to Nokia and could not use the phone as intended).
The manager informed me that (only) 8.5% to 10% of the 2.5 million units of N-series sold in Singapore are sent back for repair. This does not factor in users that have sold their phone before reaching Nokia for solution. I am writing to share my bad experience and would like Nokia to account to the public on how it intends to deal with the defective phones and whether there will be any recall of the phones to prevent inconvenience to the users.
I am open for further queries from Nokia to defend their integrity and responsibility for consumers.

If you have any doubts about this phone, don't this is another quality phone from Nokia. Having owned the phone for a few weeks now I can safely say that most of the problems listed by 'M.Williams' have not been apparent here.
"1. Battery life is poor" - Light use for calling, sms mp3 will last me 2-3days, if I just leave it on and do nothing it lasts upward of 5, heavy wi-fi use will reduce.
2. "It takes about a minute to boot it" - I counted mine, 40 seconds with a 1gig card.
3. "The operating software hangs quite frequently" - never happened to me and I have a lot of programs installed.
4. "Changing between functions is VERY slow". Is 1 second slow? maybe to you, I don't know.
5. "You can only lock the keyboard by using the closing the slider". Press power button once and select lock, 3 total button presses.
6. "Basic functions such as finding recent calls" Hold the green call button.
7. "Setting up access to a home LAN is much harder" I'm no tech wizard but took me 2 mins to connect to my WEP encrypted network.
8. "Finally, if you have largish fingers, then using the principle non-numeric buttons is a real trial." Well if you have extremly large fingers then I guess this could be an issue, I find no problem here, they are bigger than my old w800i.
[Postscripts]
9. "The included web browser cannot cope with many eBay pages" True, large pages with a lot of images on will not load but for general usage I find it loads about 95% of the websites I go on.
Great phone, great price, well worth it! [ps. make sure you update the phone via the nokia updater program on your PC if it is not already!]

I've only had this phone for two weeks, but have fallen in love with already. My last phone was the 6280, which is left standing by this beauty. The build quality has been questioned in previous reviews, but I think it feels very sturdy. I got the phone in black and the finish is almost a gun metal feel and it looks great! This phone is stacked out with great features, and is a very good all rounder. I would suggest buying a 1GB miniSD card which will allow you to store hundreds of music tracks, pictures, videos, pdf's and office files. It's easily installed and removed via a slot on the side of the phone, which is great if you've got a card reader on your pc. Alternatively you can connect the phone to your pc with the supplied usb cable, bluetooth, infrared or WI-FI. The battery life isn't too bad either. OK if you use the bluetooth or WI-FI a lot it will run it down quite quickly, but show me a phone that doesn't. Generally speaking, if you are after an easy to use, high qualuty, feature packed phone, you won't go far wrong with this one. It's great.

Work with 3 Network Only.......2007-02-23
Please beware before you buy this Nokia 6680 3G Mobile phone. The one I bought was Locked to 3 Mobile Network and wouldn't work with NO other simcards except 3 network simcards, dispite the phrase "Sim Free". I coudn't get the people at 3 network to Unlocked it for me. In fact they couldn,t find the IMEI number on thier 3 records, and NO mobile phone shop could help me either.
Therefore I have to return it because it wouldn't work with my Orange nor Vodafone simcards.
If you are buying this Nokia 6680 mobile phone make sure you are using a 3 network simcard. IT'S DEFINITELY NOT SIM FREE-NETWORK.

I completely disagree with the other review of this phone.
I have been using this phone for 18 months now and it has never let me down. It is one of the best phones I have ever had.
Firstly, it is extremely well built. You can feel that it is solid when you hold it. It would have to be a high drop that would break this phone.
The software included is very good and the pdf viewer does work for smaller files, the only limitation being the size of the screen. (but why you would buy a phone to view pdfs, I dont know).
Everything else is very good. The camera slider on the back is of solid design and i cannot see how it would break. Bluetooth transfers are of average speed and the phone comes with a cable to transfer at higher speeds to computers. The camera, although has a small resolution produces exceptional photos. I often use the phone camera instead of my Sony DSC-H2 camera as it reproduces colours alot better.
This phone is simple to use and is all round very good. And with the easy access MMC expansion slot, more memory can easily be put in and out of the phone.
The only problem with this listing on Amazon, is that Amazon claims that the phone has an FM radio built in. IT DOESN'T!
Looks good on paper, but looks can be decieving..........2006-12-02
I bought this phone about a year ago with vodafone in Ireland. At the time it was their flagship model. While it boasts an array of immpressive features when you look at the description, it lives up to few.
The menu is slow to navigate as the running memory is not sufficiet. And loading select programs is also annoyingly time consuming (another example is viewing photos, the thumbnails take ages to appear). The menus do offer most options you are ever likely to use and are easy to manage once you have spent some time flicking through them.
The majority of the extra programs you are unlikely to use. Many require the use of a higher capcity memory card than the one supplied. If you want to use such programs (adobe pdf viewer, document viewer, etc.) you would be advised to buy a different model or a pda.
The camera is not bad, although is now a bit outdated as new models include a 3 megapixel device. Viewing the photos however is not as easy.
Connection with other devices via bluetooth is notoriously slow. Don't even attempt to connect it to a PC using bluetooth it will take longer than you are willing to wait.
Although it boasts an MP3 player the memory card is not sufficient to store much music.
The keypad is not easy to use due the slight angle at which the number pad is set. So entering large quantities of text is not possible.
The casing is quite sturdy, but the sliding cover is prone to damage.
The battery life is quite reasonable.
The biggest let down about this phone is the network reception. In areas in which other models can recieve a signal, this phone cannot. I find this intensly frustrating as I work in such an area. Besides this, if the phone loses coverage it will not readily and quickly pick it up again when it is available. I must turn it off and on to get it to pick up a signal or tell it to select a new operator.
I am disappointed with this telephone and expected more from nokia. If you feel you would use all of the features it offers, go for a more recent model. If not fo for a more basic one. A basic model would probably perform the more fundamental and basic functions better.

Battery life a joke.......2007-04-03
My girlfriend bought a this phone 2 months ago, and from day one complained about the battery life. I thought she was exaggerating but she got so sick of it that she ditched it in favour of my older nokia. Just yesterday I decided I'd try out the 6131 for myself, because I'm partial to new gadgets.
I started the day on a fully charged battery. By 1pm, after a total of about 30/40 minutes of phone calls and about 5 or 6 SMS messages sent and received, along with about 10 minutes of playing Sudoku, the battery was showing as down to a quarter of its full life. I need my phone all day, so I promptly switched back to my Sony Ericsson K800i.
The *appalling* battery life of this phone renders it almost unusable as a day to day phone. I'm surprised this phone ever got released into production by Nokia. Generally I'm a Nokia fan- I like their user interfaces, although I am a bit less gone on their phone design in general. But this particular model is a failure in my opinion.
Other bugbears about the phone:
No micro SD card included as standard. Just seems a bit cheap to me.
Camera button on the side of the phone is easily activated when the phone is in your pocket, draining the battery even more quickly.
Non-intuitive interface at times, e.g. when sending messages you have to scroll down 3 items to access your contacts. Not a deal-breaker, but an annoying niggle not present on my last Nokia

Although I was sceptical of 'flip-phones', I have been very impressed with this mobile. I bought it mainly for its functionality and it hasn't failed to impress. The only things I don't really like about it is the Nokia music player software which is a bit basic and the headphones (which are Nokia and not a standard jack). The wires are a bit short and like a spider's web and I expect replacing them would be more expensive than standard headphones.
The instructions are a bit vague on what transflash/sd cards will work with the phone, but I am using a 1GB Sandisk Micro SD card which works fine.

Giving entries such as the Sony Ericsson W550i music phone and Siemens' SL75 a run for their money, Nokia today announced the 6125 clamshell as an addition to its line-up of mid-range handsets. Among its more noteworthy features are quad-band GSM support and EDGE for high-speed data, as well as a 1.3 Megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and video recording capabilities.
Also on board is Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR for improved data transfer speeds and signal interference handling, the latter of which could be exploited in tandem with a headset such as Nokia's own BH-800 or the Logitech HS 210. The 6152 also supports the A2DP profile for stereo audio streaming over Bluetooth, which enables wireless playback of MP3, WMA, eAAC+ and MP4 formats from onboard memory or a microSD memory card.
Other highlights include an integrated stereo FM radio with Visual Radio support; Infrared and USB connectivity; Nokia's Xpress Audio Messaging; and support for Macromedia Flash Lite content
