Customer Reviews:
Have to side with the negative reviewers I'm afraid.......2008-01-11
It is strange that the same product can cause such diverse opinion. Despite the negative comments of a number of reviewers I decided to chance a pair.
When I put them on for the first time and switched on my brand new iPod Classic 80Gb my heart immediately sank; a terriblely thin, tinny low output sound came out of them. I whacked the volume up full on the iPod, took off the Sound Check, put on bass booster on the EQ and very little difference. A totally useless sound. If I clamped them to my head with my hands I could tell that the bass starts to get better and the sound was OK, but I am not spending £39.95 on a pair of ear phones which require me to walk around looking like a nutter with my hands over my ears.
The reason I paid £39.95 was I was in a shop and the staff were adamant that online prices were unreliable because Seinnheiser fakes have been flooding the market (ironic if perhaps I had bought a fake pair myself off the shop!)
Fortunately, despite my misgivings of getting a refund on earphones, the shop refunded me straight away without an argument. Ironically I had also picked up a cheap pair of the PX20 Sennheiser for my wife's new Shuffle and she came home from college claiming they were useless and she had to have the shuffle of max volume and it was still not good enough.
Now I am a bass player and have been gigging for the past 15 years and maybe it is a case that I may not have excellent hearing at 40 and therefore the PX200 may not suit as I require in ear monitor type buds and those with good and excellent hearing may find the PX200's output levels acceptable. Otherwise I can't understand why some people claim they are sufficently loud.
Not me however. Third and last pair of Sennheiser I will ever buy.
I have just purchased a pair of V-Moda vibe vibe vibe midnight blue bass earphones which are ear bud type. Got them from John Lewis and they were £60. However I am now in bass player heaven.
Nice Headphones Shame About the Bass.......2008-01-10
I received the PX200 headphones for Christmas for use with a Samsung Mp3 player. The clarity is superb together with the separation the only problem was the lack of bass ( to my ears). These headphones are far superior to the supplied in ear type, although the Samsung gave a better bass response .
Headphones vs. Earphones.......2007-12-29
I got a pair of these for Christmas hoping to get a similar kind of audio quality that I get from my Sennheiser HD 555 but in a closed-back portable form. In comparison to the regular earphones I use, these are nothing compared to some Sony MDR-ED21LP. Two major points to note, firstly the impedance is 32 Ohms so requiring more power to get a similar sound quality (the Sony are 16 Ohms) and shortening the life of the battery. Secondly the in ear design of the Sony earbuds gives a vastly improved bass response you just can't get from these PX200. No, the Sony's don't fall out your ears, I use them when running and they're great and also block out a lot of outside noise. In conclusion to my search for the best portable listening ear/headphones the Sony wins by miles. Even the Sennheiser CX300 don't compare as they are really tinny and don't have a low-end sound. In my opinion get some Sony MDR-ED21LP and you will be very happy indeed, and they are also cheaper. My quest continues...
Probably the best in it's price range.......2007-12-20
Just bought a pair of these despite vastly differing reviews. My opinion, for what it's worth, is that that those people who really slated these must either have a hearing problem, be using poor quality MP3 players etc. or have received a faulty set of headphones. They don't really prevent background noise very much (not that I really expected them to), but they do cut out 'nuisance' sound to those close by and in every other respect are very good, including the base response. Would definitely recommend - I've not heard anything better, nor seen better build quality in this price range.
An unbelievable bargain........2007-12-17
I spent a ridiculous nerdy amount of time trying every set of phones I could find and going endlessly backwards and forwards comparing them and these sound way better than any cheaper and many much pricier phones. They are also extremely comfortable and fold nicely. I have not kept mine in my carry case and with a little care when folding and unfolding them they have lasted me well.
I am a musician and have a very broad taste in music and I think everything sounds great on these. There is no need to buy the more expensive noise canceling ones. These do a great job. I would still have given them 5 stars had they been twice the price. If you are from Sennheizer then please ignore this last point as I am an idiot and do not know what I am talking about.

Customer Reviews:
Excellent.......2007-11-29
These headphones are the BEST I have ever used, at a GREAT price and well worth the money spent.
Headphone.......2007-11-14
great sound quality, look great aswell but a very flimsy looking desing, fragile even otherwise a lovley pair.
Great Phones but..........2007-07-30
These phones really look the business, a bit different, very stylish and comfortable with a good range of adjustment, They also fold up in a very clever way, to fit neatly into the smart carrying case supplied.
Sound separation is good, but somehow, I tend to reluctantly agree about the lack of bass. I love these phones, but I don't think that the sound quality is as good as some others that I have tried in this price range. Still, overall, I am still pleased with my purchase.
well worth the money.......2007-01-12
Not a headphones expert, but these are fantastic at reasonable price. Transformed the way music sounds, great emphasis on bass and love the design in white - although may not be to everyones taste if you dont like the conspicuous.
