Top-end sound for your favourate tunes and movies
Having recently upgraded my PC I wanted some separate speakers to boost the impact of watching DVDs and listening to music.
Most of the PC speakers I initially researched appeared cheap and low-powered but after some further searching it came down to these from Sony or some Bose or Creative speakers.
Having chosen the Sonys I can thoroughly recommend them to anyone wanting some serious speakers for their PC. While they're inevitably not as good as hi-fi separates, the power and clarity these speakers offer compared to most portable speakers is impressive. 25 watts per speaker gives scope to listen to your favourite tunes and movies with serious impact.
So what's the downside? Well they're big speakers (about 13 inches high) and the volume knob feels a little bit cheap and plastic. Also the power lead is pretty short.
Nevertheless I'd thoroughly recommend these to anyone wanting to seriously enjoy music and movies on their PC.

These speakers are amazing for the money. I was expecting them to be really tinny and bad, but they sound considerably better. I have tried them on my mp3 player and laptop and they sound perfect. The bass is excellent, the stereo is amazing, and the maximum volume is tremendous!

the speakers look fine, the sound quality is good but oh what a nasty little wheel of a volume control located just where you cant see it, and where you cant use it with any precision, still its a good buy at this price, presently under £25.

The speakers sounds very good. Obviously, it's not a Hi-Fi system nor an alarm clock with one speaker. Some guys complaints about to much bass, but I use the subwoofer on the ground (as it is in the instructions)and the small speakers at the computer level, the sound is round and great, I'm satisfied with no regrets.

Great Price, work really well and just what i need. Bass is a little distorted at high levels, so would look at the step up if you want heavy bass

Well, just got these speakers and have plugged them in. Easy to do. No problems. However, the sound quality isn't quite as good as I expected. I think the main problem is that the bass level isn't adjustable except to adjust it on your media player, which is irritating to do if you like to use preset settings.
The Sony ones for £35 have higher output and I would recommend shelling out the extra tenner for those.

I had only ever purchased cheap no brand speakers in the past, but with my PC collecting Music files and becomming more of an Entertainment system, I decided to upgrade. The Sony unit, although budget has style plus great sound.

The great thing about these speakers is that they are very light (only 200gms) and easy to carry. Even the adapter is pretty sleek. The sound is OK. Mid and high frequencies sound very good, but lower frequencies get distorted esp. at high volumes. So if you listen at low and medium volumes and are always on the move, and hate to have headphones always on, these are worth the price.

I bought these speakers from Dixons at Manchester Airport when I needed a set for a training course I was running. I chose Sony because I thought they would work perfectly with my Vaio laptop. The packaging is hopeless. To open them you will need scissors and some gloves, just in case you cut yourself on the very sharp plastic packaging (typical Sony). The sound quality whether using batteries or the supplied power adapter is very poor. When they were unplugged my Vaio laptop was as loud (if not louder) and a lot less distorted. They rattle at anything approaching decent volume and have so little power they could be passive and you wouldn't notice the difference.
Sony....I expected better from you!
