Recomendation From Nephews About Their Christmas Gifts The TeckNet V70 1G MP4/MP3 Built-In FM Radio.......2008-01-11

I had Purchased two of theses products for Christmas Gifts for my newphews in Jamaica. I had asked them to write all the good points about their TeckNet V70 1G MP4/MP3 Player.

Both Nephews are aged 12 and 11 years.

1. They can record from the radio to MP3
2. The TeckNet V70 1G comes with games accessories (snakes & others etc)
3. They have managed to store 999 songs from the PC software onto the Tecknet V70. Software compatable
4. The TeckNet V70 comes loaded with a few MP4 films (which I have witness)

From other reviews read, I had explained to my newphews about the difficulty indivduals had, with the operating of the Menu.

5. Menu is easy to operate, if you need to exit out of a particular window, you must hold M and press the middle to return to menu. (shown to me by Nephews)

6. Can download films to MP4
7. Nephews had use the TeckNet V70, to recorded through the earphones, music playing from CD player. They move their earpieces to the speakers.

My Nephews are happy with their Gifts and would recommend this to all friends and family they know.

I must thank Amazon.co.uk for using third parties in supplying this product.
I had read other Indivdual reviews after I had purcahsed the product. I was getting worried that if I go on Holiday and the Gift did not work.

I'll keep this brief, instructions for what they're worth printed on rubbish. Broken English and guess what the menu system is the same. Unintuitive and plain daft.

I don't buy into the argument "you get what you pay for" as there are bargains to be had that are worth their weight in gold.

Upgrade to a branded product and don't be fooled by this daft waste of money.

this looked like it was great value when I brought it, but like all things you only get what you pay for cheap tack, the headphones fell to pieces when I opened the box not a good start still I mostly use my own anyway, on to the mp3 player the radio is good but the controls are a nightmare some times they work and sometimes they don't tried to put the mp3s in folders and see if they work like the manual on the disk says because you can only have so many loose mp3s good lord you need the patience of a saint I have given up and given it to my grandson he is happy with it but he is only three perhaps I expected to much for the price if you have the money buy something more expensive if not this may do the job and the radio is very good

I was after a cheap MP3 player, and I suppose in that regard the Tecknet V70 is a success. Unfortunately, it's entirely useless. Not only does it not work with my PC whatsoever, but the technical support is a joke - it comes with no manual, just a piece of paper instructing you to try it with another PC. Even if you follow this impractical advice, you'll probably still be disappointed, as I was. I even have strong suspicions that all the average-to-good reviews I've read of this product were written by the manufacturers themselves, as this product is so absolutely rubbish and the company so massively unhelpful that I don't believe anyone could be satisfied with it. Though I didn't even get as far as putting music on it, it's clear from trying to use it, from the menu screens etc, that this cost about 20 pence to produce (which I suppose is unsurprising for the price)- they couldn't even afford to get anyone to translate the instructions into coherent English. If yours even turns on, expect to be frustrated by 'Charge Finish!' and 'BYE BYE!' flashing up, seemingly at random. In the unlikely event that this product is compatible with your PC you may well be satisfied with it, but you'll probably never get that far. In a nutshell, avoid at all costs. They'll even charge you to send it back. If I had time and a hammer, I'd smash every single one.

I was so excited when I got it, but I wasn't so pleased when 2 weeks had past! It looked smashing, but talking of the function it wasn't so great!
I played some games on it the first two weeks, but then it said the battery needed charging. So I charged it all night and the next morning it still said it needed charging. I charged it for two more days and it still said it needed charging! So I gave up and tried loading on some songs and guess what? It didn't work. What a surprise! I'm going to get myself a new one soon. And it's definitely not going to be this brand!

It's cheap for a very good reason!.......2008-01-17

I can't really talk about durability as this only came through the post two days ago. But already I wish I hadn't bought this.
The software doesn't install properly, i've tried it on three different PC's with three different USB connections as the tecknet manual says to do if the computer doesn't recongnise the mp3/4 player.
The controls are somewhat disorganised and hard to understand, the buttons do different things on different menu's and it's hard to keep track of.

One good point is the price. If i'd spent any more that £15/20 on this i'd be furious. I don't know why I thought it'd be a good mp3/4 player for £15!
Oh and it has tetris! (Russian Blocks!)

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this, at all.

Please tell me why you have removed a previous honest review I wrote on this item. I was unfortunate enough to have bought 2 of these, albeit by mistake, so the chances of the same faults being 'one-offs' on both devices are highly unlikely. Another review I read about this device, about the same time, which has also mysteriously vanished, came to the same conclusion. I really hope you are not attempting to mislead people into buying this piece of cheap tat as they will be very disapointed.

This product is fine if you want to have mixed files ..
Plays movies, Radio & MP3 .. all fine .. however ..

If you try to store more than 200mb of mp3's on this player the file folder system begins to falter .. searching through the mp3 folders is problematic.. if you're not quick enough browsing it defers back to the last track playing..

Ebook support - er what's that then ..?

Also had problems with the connection .. the small connector which is for recharging and uploads actually comes out .. actual design fault .. be careful unplugging this product from the charger..

so to surmise ..
Doesn't do exactly what it says but is cheap enough with enough function to satisfy the gadget geek within ..
