Mine started crackling after only a few months light use. Your paying for the apple brand - these would be bottom of the range by any other manufacturers standards.
If you want good sound quality and long life, dont buy these........2008-01-10
I had an 2nd gen ipod nano which obviously came with these earphones, it was only a few months before they lost the bass i think, and from there on out they just fell apart, the wires started showing at certain areas - which may have been to misuse, but still, if they are priced at £20 you would expect better durability.
They lasted 6 months and i bought some new ones which were far better.
Unfortunatly my ipod got stolen - now i hav a 3rd gen nano, but with these earphones, and i instantly noticed the difference in sound quality, the pair i actually bought were the same price as these ones in the shop, but far better.
If you just want people to know you're listening to an ipod buy these. If you want quality, then DON'T.

Well, my view is as follows.
If you like music, and listen to it on a regular basis, but dont care about the sound quality then these are for you.
I got these with my ipod classic, and i have to say i am appauled at them. £20 is an absolute criminal price for these! My sennheiser £5.99 headphones beat these with flying colours! There is no highs or lows, no bass, no sound isolation, nothing at all. The sony £7.99 model on here beat these as well, these are simply a money making scam by Apple, as honestly they are terrible.
The £20 would be better spent on a pair of SonyMDR-EX71, or do the best thing ever and spend £40 or £50 on some amazing headphones such as the Shure E2C, and you will soon realise how terrible these are.
Yes they are cool, but at least if you buy some good earphones, you will just be able to laugh at iPod headphone users!

Poor Quality Control!.......2007-08-28
Bought a pair of these to use whilst running. I kept hearing a rattling sound in the right side earpiece, so I returned it to Amazon who promptly sent me a replacement pair (Good service Amazon!). However, on opening the pack and trying them out, I realised that there was rattling in both earpieces in this set! I couldn't be bothered to return this set, so being a curious engineer, opened them up carefully and found the cause; there is a small grey plastic washer/bearing (to allow for the designed rotation) buth this sits loosely inside and 'rattles' around if start jogging. I solved the fault with a dab of Cyano (superglue) and now they perform reasonably (I was never expecting fantastic sound quality out of these anyway). My advice, stay clear, its not worth the build quality control 'lottery'.

Stay well clear of these..i have no idea what they were thinking when they designed these earphones,you look at them and think yea cool they have clips to keep the earphone in place, well nice in theory but pants.they only get two stars because 1.they arrived and 2. you can hear sound...apart from that they dont sit well atall and they have no adjustments. honestly i'd just stick to the normal classic earphones way better...nice try but no cigar im afraid...put it this way..they sit in such a rubbish position whoever is sitting next to you gets a better sound qaulity than you do...

I tried these with a cheap mp3 player and they were terrible, the volume had to be way up to hear them ok, no base and just awful sound. Then I tried them with a Sandisk Sansa and they rock! You only need the volume to be less than half way, full awesome base, rich dynamic sound.
If anyone is disappointed with these earphones, maybe your player don't match , the Sansa range definately match and its so awesome!!

I had no problem fitting the ear buds,which are comfortable for long periods of use,when properly inserted.
Good lanyard design with quick release.
Excellent full bodied bass,good mid range,crisp treble,and good separation.

Ok so I don't own this actual pair of headphones..........2006-09-02
...however I do own a very similar pair (the EP-630) and I have to say that they are excellent, and as this pair is basically the same I feel qualified to review them and point out that the previous reviewer, as daft as it sounds, probably hasn't put the ear phones in properly! Its easy to do if you don't know how to, these earphones go right into your ear (like earplugs do) so that any exterior sound is muffled (and kinna sounds like you are underwater). Once the earphones are in properly the difference in sound quality is astonishing! The best method of putting in the earphones is (as many others have commented) by pushing the earphone in as far as it will go then pulling the top of your earlobe up and then pushing the earphone in a little further, this should mean that you get a tight seal, its a bit of an odd sensation but you get used to it, additionally selecting the correct size of ear bud is essential to a comfortable fit and a good seal.
Dreadful sound.......2006-08-25
These are awful. The sound is tinny and reminds me of the earpiece you would use for a cheap transistor radio of the seventies. We have a few differnt earphones for various Mp3 players (including an excellent Creative Zen and a couple of real cheapies and the headphones they come with) but these are definitily the worst. I would love to return them but I can't because I think they don't have a fault, (unless I've got a real dud pair and they are meant to sound good). Absolutely no depth to the sound at all. They are like something from a kids lucky bag... or unlucky bag. Don't buy them, they are rubbish.

I really like the quality of sound in these, and the plugs are pretty comfortable. They're also better for noise cancellation than most ear buds (though they don't cancel it completely). However, the little grey plugs pop off very easily, especially if they've gotten warm from your body heat. Any sort of movement will pull them free. It's nothing to pop them back on, but it's a bit of a bother.

These were the latest in a long search for comfy ear phones for my small ears & small ear canals! I tried the Koss Spark Plugs but they sometimes fell out, despite using the correct insertion technique.
Positives: Comfy and secure. The silicon valves mould to the shape of the ear canal. Sound quality is good (to my non-techy ears). I can use a low volume on my MP3 and I can still hear some of what's going on around me. Easy to insert.
Negatives: Sound quality is not quite as good as Koss Spark Plugs. They look like they'll get wax stuck behind the valves, but so far so good. Indiscreet profile - they stick out at an odd angle.
I've only had them for a month or so, so I can't yet comment on how durable they are.
Good value for money...for a while.......2006-05-15
These earphones fit very comfortably within the ear and are thus very good at cancelling out unwanted noise. However, the sound quality isn't brilliant and the pads that go into the ear wear out very, very quickly with everyday use. Mine lasted about a month, and I've heard the same from others.
