2 Highspeed HomePlug Ethernet adapters for 85Mbps PC networking & Internet access extension over your existing household power circuit
The MicroLink dLAN Highspeed Starter Kit is the first product to offer data transfers of up to 85 Mbps over your existing household power circuit. This new high-speed generation of devolo MicroLink dLAN adapters now opens up a whole new range of possibilities. MicroLink dLAN Highspeed adapters are highly secure, equipped with automatic DESpro encryption and are fully backwards compatible with the popular MicroLink dLAN products currently supporting 14Mbps transfer rates.
As MicroLink dLAN adapters communicate over your existing electricity network, they are particularly well suited to old buildings and houses; MicroLink dLAN adapters don?t suffer from typical WLAN obstacles like thick walls and multi-floors.

Impressive - It really is Plug and Play!.......2008-01-19
I've just changed my broadband provider and the new wireless router was continually dropping out with my old PC and yet it was working with a laptop which was placed in a nearer room. I tried several solutions but none seemed to work and if I had a couple of weeks I'm sure I could find a solution but I don't have much time at the moment. I happened to see this product (and others) at PC World but I was put off with the cost however after some minutes of internal conflict I decided to buy it; because even though it is expensive (if it was say 30 to 40 pounds I would have no hesitation in buying it) I am getting irritated by constantly losing the broadband connection. but I diverge ... I bought it, I connected one plug to the router, the other to my PC and it has work and I have turned off my WiFi.
Good for new wiring.......2008-01-09
These are a great substitute for a wireless network, consistent and reliable too. I understand they run better in a house with new wiring and are perfect for my two kids running laptops and wanting internet access (I have four plugs in all) Easy to install, even for me.
One lesson learnt was not to mix Develo products. The white higher speed and more expensive plugs dont work with these blue plugs, so check the compatibility first.
Great but....................2007-12-27
One minute installation my ar5e :-)
These are great, after the pain of an unreliable wireless network which was a NIGHTMARE to set up and would only work (patchily) in half the house these have been great. I am logged on through them now.
And MAYBE you will have them up and running in 1 minute but I doubt it.
The fast and easy setup will be for those people who already have a network in place and are just replacing existing connections. It took me seven hours of grief to get the system up and running. Now that is because I have a crap setup, old PC and my NTL modem was conected via USB not ethernet and not via a router. So I had to reconfigure my setup to get things working, and to be honest the reason it is hard work is because XP and everyone else make it so hard, and because the networking wizards are rubbish. Still easier than wireless though. My problem turned out to be that the new ethernet connectons I had set up were not acquiring their IP adresses automatically, so into network connections, into properties and sorted. Oh and a read of the Netgear router manual stressed that you can't use just any old ethernet cable to link the router to the cable modem it has to be the one that came with the modem which will be "special". Turns out I had indeed got my cables jumbled. The product does come with two ethernet cables with feel good quality and are of a good length.
For many these will be nearly plug and play but just dont give yourself 30 minutes to get it all working before a vital event.
5 Stars because the product itself IS easy to use its only because it is operating in that nasty world known as networking that it suffers. I suspect adding a third PC to the setup will be a breeze. Unplugging and replugging the kit in in different places is effortless.
Mine are plugged in at both ends via cable extensions not wall plugs and we have a modern rcb protected consumer unit. The modem is upstairs I am downstairs about as far away as I can get. suspect you would have to be very unlucky for these not to work.
And now I can reliably connect all sorts of stuff. I am planning a connection to a PC in my bedroom so I can use the internet on the TFT TV in there, I will finally get around to going online with our PS2 and may even get an internet radio or suchlike. I may even get one of those homeplug wireless extenders in the hope that it will seem to the receiving laptop that it is not on a wireless network and won't need such fiddly configuration, then I can play in the garden too :-) Thats just being indulgent though. The main benefit is that we now have multiple internet access to keep a whole family satisfied.
Happy.
Plug and play!.......2007-12-15
Great product - not the cheapest but works straight out of the box. No fuss, no complications, good speed. Worth the price - much more reliable and simpler than wireless.
Great.......2007-12-11
Very easy to set up, have had no problems at all. Have used to connect one wireless modem to another wireless access point elsewhere in the house. Works like a dream.

It works a treat!.......2006-01-20
Having puzzled over how best to connect my PC to the internet throughout a rambling house with lots of solid walls, I discovered this kit. I was somewhat sceptical, particularly as my broadband service is already slow due to my distance from the BT exchange.
I contacted Devolo technical support before purchasing. Having been somewhat reassured by their fast and encouraging response, I bit the bullet and made the purchase.
If only I had done it sooner! It took longer to unpack than to get working, and there is no loss of broadband speed or reliability. The messy telephone extension cables are now packed away.
Another satisfied customer!!
Works out of the box.......2006-01-01
I spent two months trying to configure a wireless LAN on Mac OSX - and gave up - Devolo worked straight out of the box- fantastic!
Each plug has its own address and the kit comes with software which finds them on the network. I'm able to share an internet connection between two Macs (eMac & MacMini) over a single USB ADSL modem connected to one of the macs - other features- such as printer and file sharing I haven't tried.
If only everything was this easy...........2005-09-06
After trying for 2 weeks get my existing WLAN to work in our newly moved into 16th century listed house that has 6 (yes six) ring main switchboards some of which are very old. I had tried to buy high gain antenna etc. etc. to make my wireless kit work and after 2 weeks I gave up on wireless (just due to the number of walls in our house).
After plugging the Devolo dlans into my Dreytek adsl router and the also the PC, it didn't work. I then realised I had disabled my Ethernet on my PC, rebooted the PC into the BIOS and enabled it, rebooted and it sprung into life. The speed is about 10Meg which is much faster than my WLAN used to provide and even PC to Mac copies are seamless.
I have never written a review before for any website but this product is so good, I felt compeled to, it just works.
Works Perfect.......2005-07-26
I received this product this morning , It was bought to play xbox live. My current setup is a wire running all over the house, which is a pain and looks untidy.
When the Devolo arrived I just took down the old wire, plugged the products in at either end hooked one end in the xbox, the other in the adsl modem and hey presto it worked.
I have rarely seen a product which you can use out of the box like this. Great !
Does exactly what it says on the tin !!.......2005-07-04
Couldnt be any easier.
Just plug it in and your off.
I have ntl cable modem which is connected in the living room.
Simply plugged in one plug to mains and connected via ethernet cable to modem.
PC is in upsatirs room.Plugged in other dlan plug at mains and connected to PC via ethernet cable and online in seconds.
No config changes PC just plug in and go.
I thought this was too good to be true when I read the product.
Excellent product plus you can extend your network by buying extra plugs

Tried wireless card from Linksys and USB from Belkin (both using G+), neither worked form Upstairs to Downstairs (Old house with solid walls). Decided these were worth a try. Fantastic bit of kit, would highly recommend them.
