At less than 80p per disc, I only bought one pack because I was wary of the quality. I needn't have worried... picture and sound quality are brilliant. I have been copying videos I taped off the tv... my recorder (DAEWOO DF8150 DVD Recorder +RW and VCR Combi, with MP3.JPEG & Picture CD compatible) which I bought at the same time is superb... it has enhanced the quality of these recordings significantly! I will be purchasing more without hesitation!

I've used these discs for burning home movies and other formats of video converted to DVD.
No problems/dropouts in any case (I use a Toshiba DVD writer in my PC).
Bottom line, they work, unlike cheap garbage like "Mr DVD".

This product would not backup a partion of my hard drive due to it having some "data" on it, i erased the disk numerous times yet it still did not work. Only 6 of my disks worked and 4 were coasters.

DVDs and CDs from the Taiyo Yuden have the reputation for remembering your data. There are many dodgier makes than these, but don't expect any DVD-RW to store data for long, use DVD-Rs instead, or if possible, CD-Rs.

I've bought quite a lot of DVD+R and DVD-R packs and this is the only one I've found where none of the burns have failed.
Reslient, a nice colour, and error free.
Maybe loses a star for being slightly higher in price than equivalent items from other suppliers.

I have used these discs with Nero and a Pioneer DVR-109 writer with no failures or 'coasters' for nearly 2 years, which is as long as I have been using the respective versions of this disc. I have kept the firmware updated on my writer and always leave the computer to do it's thing rather than multi-task when writing.
The discs have proven reliable and stable - what more could I want or need?

Sometimes these have provided perfect results! Other times I've had glitches/picture break up for about 3 minutes, around 20 minutes into the recording. I don't think this is particular to these, comparitively high quality, discs.
I've only used one spindle of these. Tesco x4 DVD+RW have the problem more consistently. A couple of unbranded liqudated stock(could be anything) DVD+R sometimes have the problem. Total number of burns in no more than a dozen across all these discs. I'm using a domestic DVD player to burn home movies etc, not data in a PC drive.
Conclusion: nothing to do with format (+/- R/RW), maybe quality* issue and/or burn speed. I'm going to try Taiyo Yuden manufactured discs that use the proprietory Taiyo Yuden dye. *No worse than most discs available.

I've tried burning some of these and the burn results are excellent. They play on both my DVD players (including the DVD player on the Playstation 2). They also work well for burning Playstation 2 DVD-ROM backups (if you have a modified console).
General performance of these discs are very good. I can't notice any kind of pixelling, skipping or audio/video syncing issues when burned as DVD Video.
For the blank media techies out there, these have a Media ID of MCC 03RG20 and incidentally, these are Made in Taiwan. Rest assured these are excellent quality discs and second only to the legendary Taiyo Yuden manufactured blank DVD (have a look at the CDfreaks forum for more details).
I saw this exact product just last week in Currys for £12.99. So that's a saving of over £6. This is a real bargain and I would definitely recommend. 5 stars.
25 out of 25 recorded and played..............2006-06-15
Despite some poor reviews, I've had 100% success with these discs. They were recorded on a cheap PC DVD recorder, and then all played back perfectly on a mega-expensive, mega-fussy Toshiba player. Out of a spindle of 25 discs, I achieved 25 perfect recordings which is better than any other discs I have used. I've no idea if it helps, but I always record at half the stated speed of the discs - hence the above results were had by recording at x8, rather than x16.
I think that judging the performance of media such as this is very difficult to do objectively. My personal experience is that often the media is blamed when the real problem lies with a faulty DVD writer.
Won't work with the Pioneer DVR-109 (yet?).......2006-05-21
I've tried everything to get these disks working with my Pioneer DVR-109. The latest firmware 1.58 (at time of writing) didn't help either. My drive works fine with standard Verbatim CDRs which have always been good in the past and the drive will burn some cheap Ridisc DVDs also, so it does work okay.

I swear by these disks; used for backing up data (on my PC) and burning my old VHS videos of kids growing up (on a DVD recorder). No failures ever, and after two years of use they still have good picture quality and allow me to recover saved data. I cannot fault them.

There's not really that much you can say about a spindle of DVDs, other than whether they work or not, and these do. I think I've had a couple of failures, but that's not too bad. I'd buy these again.
Cheap can be Cheerful.......2007-01-13
At first I was a bit skeptical about buying these because I had never heard of the brand, and the price seemed too good to be true. But it is true, these DVD+Rs are a bargain and the burn quality is excellent. It works on my computer's DVD drive and an Acoustic Solutions' DVD player, but do note that DVD+Rs/-Rs etc are not compatible with the early, non-slim, PS2s. This is not due to the disc, but I was planning on watching a movie on my PS2 and I found out that they're not compatible.
This is a perfect example that cheap can be cheerful.

Depending on your hardware you may get some issues with certain manufacturers' products in your drive when reading / writing to them as I have experienced.
However I use the Verbatim DVD+Rs in both my PC and my DVD recorder and enjoy the quality of my movies both at home and on the move.
I rate Verbatim as a quality manufacturer so you don't need to spend extra money just for the name of "one of the established gang..."
Buy them in +R or -R, in 25 or 50, but do buy them and enjoy your media use / viewing.
No Coasters!!!.......2006-09-14
Simply put these DVDs are high quality and I don't get any coasters when burning to them. My PCs DVD Burner is some what temperamental when it comes to using cheap unbranded (or supermarket) media but I've had absolutely no problems with these. There is cheaper media available BUT you have to factor in how many coasters you get - with these, as I said earlier, I get none, whilst with unbranded media my burner us quite happy to turn 1 disk in 3 into a coaster.
