Works as advertised, no problems. It's seen as a USB mass storage device in Linux (and presumably Windows) and works smoothly.
Be careful if you want to move data between different types of cards on the fly though, as (at least) one of the slots is overloaded i.e. one of the slots takes two different types of card, so sharing between them would not be possible. This isn't really a problem though, since even if you end up in this situation it's easily solvable by copying the data to your HD and then swapping cards to write it onto the new card.
A Word of Warning.......2005-11-01
The reader works well up to a point. That point is 1Gb. It cannot cope with cards greater than 1Gb which is a shame because the cards I use these days are 2Gb.
If you search on Belkins support page the only answer it has is that it doesn't support >1Gb but they will bring out a future product that will.
For me this was a waste of money.

With 4 slots the reader can handle a multiplicity of cards. I use two, XD and Compact Flash. With Windows XP it can be used with or without the included driver plus it comes with a paper manual! I received mine on the 5th July 2005 and have since used it extensively with both an Olympus Camera and a Nikon D70S. Simply, plug in, use it and no problems. I prefer to transfer information this way, it saves camera battery life, the power supply via the USB port is constant, no plugging cables into the cameras and a rapid transfer of images be they relatively small .jpg or much larger .raw.
Really cheap considering the job that it does and always ready for use. I would not be without it. I recommend that you purchase it, you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic, as you would expect from Belkin.
Build quality is rock-solid, and cards fit snug and locate positively.
I use Apple Macintosh, and as usual, this product just plugs in and does it's stuff. Didn't even need to examine the guides or get the driver disk out.
Have tried with XD, SD, CFII, Microdrive and SmartMedia, ranging from 32Mb up to 1Gb-all work as advertised.
And the ability of this reader to mount multiple drives at once SOUNDS odd, but it's actually quite handy.
Speed is good for a USB2 device (although I do have a Firewire CF reader, which is a lot faster). But, overall, a huge increase in speed over connecting your camera direct to computer.

Needed an inexpensive writer for a SD card to drive a digital picture frame. It was so straight forward and simple to use. I can now see many other uses as a memory container. Highly reccommended.

Doesn't work!.......2007-09-01
This device doesn't work, comes with no instructions or drivers, and has no support of any kind from the manufacturer that I can see. Plug it in, and it might be detected if you're lucky. You can then browse the contents of memory cards, but woe-betide anyone who actually tries to copy files from them! Windows times out, reports I/O errors etc. I have another memory card reader that works perfectly well, but this one's hopeless. Avoid.
