I've used it with a SanDisk 1Gb card on both Windows2000 and SuSe Linux 9.3 .
In both cases, no drivers were required (unless you want the use the button gimmick, which is quite pointless), and the reader was recognised instantly. Data transfer was quick, as you would expect from USB2.0 . Size is quite small - about the size of 2 CF cards - so it's easy to bring on holiday. The USB cable supplied is approx. 1.5 metres giving plenty of flexibility attaching it to the PC.

Does the job fine.......2006-02-06

A good product, which does it's job well. It isn't particularly solid, but it doesn't need to be hewn from steel for it's purpose and it's made well enough. Works perfectly well, and is recognised by Windows XP without needing to install any driver (one is supplied for 98). Not a lot to remark on really. Does the job.
The supplied Media Card Companion isn't quite so impressive though. Works well enough but lacks finish. E.g. on my system the letters for the directory to save to don't fit into their box on screen. Also, changing the 'save folder' them doesn't seem to stick. However, you don't really need this app anyway, and you can access the CF card as another drive so you can just move the files around using Explorer. The MCC app is a typical bundled app that gets you started but you probably grow out of fairly quickly.

If you have windoxs xp then just plugg this little ScanDisk in to your USB 2 plugg and off you go. Works fast and without any problems. Feels so much better using this flash adapter then plugging my actual Nikon D70s into the computer

You want to get stuff either off or onto a compact flash card? Get this. It does exactly that with no faff.

I regularly have to take 1Gb of photos of my flash cards, and this does it speedily and without bother - it just works.

It only gets 4 stars (instead of 5) because the plastic housing feels just a tad flimsy.

Forget those expensive loading docks! This little 2" X 3" transmitter simply plugs into the front or back of your computer with an adapter cord and with 2 minutes of time for the CD progam upload, you are all set! Just place your memory card in the slot and off you go with easy instructions! Don't use up your camera batteries when you can drop $10-$15 bucks for this great little item! The CD-ROM comes with cool extras - so SAVE your batteries!

Do not be deceived by the title of this item! I bought it wanting something to read the memory sticks I use with my camera. Although the JEWEL CASE can hold a memory stick, the USB reader does not have a slot for one. Like the previous reviewer, I am now looking for a friend who uses one of the compatible cards who would like this as a gift, since it is useless to me.

Misleading Advert.......2007-08-17

I bought this reader in the belief that it would take my XD cards, since the heading mentions the card explicitly. The card will accept SD/SDHC, MicroSD, RS-MMC, MMCplus, MMCmicro and MMCmobile, but not XD (and presumably not CF or SM either). Having unpacked the device I am now looking for a friend,who uses these format of cards, to accept it as a gift.
